Nov 12, 2010Fortunately, my phone is not bricked. I unrooted it by using the one-click app, downloaded and tried to install froyo but received an unkind error message. The Update failed to Install. I'm assuming I need to flash the phone back to factory? How do I go about doing this?

Jul 27, 2010I picked up my new incredible last week (Awesome!). It's been working great. However, within the last day, I've been getting an error message which reads "Connection Failed: This application requires network access. Enable mobile network or Wi-Fi to download data." I've gotten this message when initiating the browser, going into email, etc. Of course, I can't access anything via the web.
When I go to settings, mobile network is checked off, although it does say "turning on..."
Samsung Epic 4G :: Recording Failed Error Message
Oct 3, 2010Searched the forums on this and found nothing - when I'm recording video after a few minutes I always get a "recording failed" error message. The video recording is there, but I have to start a new recording if I want to continue.
I'm recording at full resolution (not MMS) to the OEM external SD card. The card itself has over half its space left, so I'm not running out of room.

Mar 21, 2010So last night i had my phone sitting on my dresser while i watched the dodger game about 2 hours later when i picked it up and attempted to check face book, it kept giving me error messages. Convinced that this was another stupid FB error i went to surf the web only to say I was not connected to a network. I looked at the top of my phone and i had 3 bars but next to there bars there was no 1x or EV signal just the bars. I went into my settings and un clicked the mobile network and then clicked it again and it worked This has happened to me about 4 or 5 times since i owned the hero since December. Anyone have any similar stories or explanations? Also sometimes it seems that when my phone is sleeping, i wont get text messages until i unlock it?

When i downloaded the update it asked me to install now or later, of course now, then it showed the reboot screen and later it said i had an error with the signature verification that failed and it just totally terminated the update....? Sep 24, 2010 Anyone know why I would be getting the errors below. The message below is showing up in the Console view, and I'm getting a "Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1".
My app has been working quite well for some time, and I just tried to update the SDK and DDMS to 0.9.9, and now it won't build.
I've done a search for the CharBuffer class and don't find any matches in my files, but I am using several API's (BUMP, C2DM, Admob). I definitely don't use any of the core-library in my code. If the error message is correct, I just can't quite figure out how to tell which API is the problem without almost wiping out my code base, or starting a new project and copying a few files at a time.
Oh... but the two files at the bottom of the file are missing android-6sdk.properties and android-5sdk.properties. Anyone know where I find them?
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but so far, no joy :).

In something other than a core library. It is likely that you have attempted to include in an application the core library (or a part thereof) from a desktop virtual machine. This will most assuredly not work. At a minimum, it jeopardizes the compatibility of your app with future versions of the platform. It is also often of questionable legality.
If you really intend to build a core library -- which is only appropriate as part of creating a full virtual machine distribution, as opposed to compiling an application -- then use the "--core-library" option to suppress this error message.
If you go ahead and use "--core-library" but are in fact building an application, then be forewarned that your application will still fail to build or run, at some point. Please be prepared for angry customers who find, for example, that your application ceases to function once they upgrade their operating system. You will be to blame for this problem.
If you are legitimately using some code that happens to be in a core package, then the easiest safe alternative you have is to repackage that code. That is, move the classes in question into your own package namespace. This means that they will never be in conflict with core system classes. If you find that you cannot do this, then that is an indication that the path you are on will ultimately lead to pain, suffering, grief, and lamentation.

HTC EVO 4G :: Phone Signal - 3G Signal Horrible Same Location
Sep 25, 2010I can get a few minutes of 4G signal at my home per day, but when it drops out and 3G takes over, the signal will flatline and boot me offline. My 3G speeds are usually around 56-150Kbps or less, and my 4G speeds are around 2.5 Mbps What would cause this ? According to WiMax location sites online, my nearest 4G tower is .52 mile away. I would think that if I actually get 4G signal, then 3G would be constant. Turning off 4G doesn't help either. Is there some setting that I could have turned off that would cause this ? Running stock EVO on 2.2 all the latest updates

May 7, 2009I uploaded the new updates to the application in the market. There was no error message shown. It seemed that the uploading was successful. However, the version name and the app itself were still the old version. FYI: lost the original private key or the keystore file. I generated a new keystore file to sign the app. I also met the minSDK problem and solved it by set the minSDKversion in the manifest file. There must be a way to update the app. I don't want to upload the app as an new application since there is a large base of existing customers.

May 11, 2010I've been getting an error message all day. everytime I try to go into the market to update apps I get the message "A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." I can hit retry 42 million times and it will not connect.
I've rebooted, pulled the battery, cleared the cache, I even tried uninstalling the market updates; figuring that it would connect and I could re-update, but nothing has worked.

Recently have received text messages I could not download. doesn't state why just "message size: 30KB" ask if I want to download or reject. When I try to download I get the same message "failed to download" is there a setting to change file sizes allowed or something else I'm missing.

May 19, 2010My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.

Jun 9, 2013I am on twrp recovery version 2.1.3 and to upgrade to 2.5.0.0 I used the Google .im app but even after the message showing that recovery was flashed successfully, when I reboot into recovery I still see the 2.1.3 twrp only..So I tried flashing it with terminal emulator but it didn't work.This error shows up every time failed scanning partitions failed with error : - 1
I tried putting the .img file in the root folder as well but it didn't work..I tried naming the root of sd card as storage/emulated/legacy, storage/ emulated / 0, /sdcard, etc but it keeps on giving this error every single time!

Use case :
1- Disconnet the battery and wait 10 seconds
2- Open flash tools with the scatter file
3- Connect the phone usb cable to pc
4- Plug the batterie on the phone
==> MTK USB PORT (COM XX) ok : drivers on the pc seems to be ok
5- On flash tools press download
every time I get BROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032)

on the web they say the cause is the wrong ROM but I don't know (I try over than 20 ROM)
General :: Samsung Galaxy ACE 2 - Create Folder Giving Error Creation Failed?
Jun 27, 2012Im here because of my problem with SGA 2.Few days ago I bought ACE 2 and I found few problems with "external_sd".So the problems are
1. When I try to create folder it gives me error "Creation failed"
2. When trying to move folder from internal memory to external sd it gives me error like "Moving failed", while copying goes fine.
3. I can move/copy any file to sd card, but sometimes those files got corrupted, gives me error about memory when trying to open pictures, same problem when saved camera saved photo to sd card. Even getting error when trying to play video.
APK files got corrupted too.
4. When I have moved apps to sd card some while apps work great, but after some time cant launch apps because it gives me error about that app doesnt exist.
I tried formatting sd card with pc and android.
Factory reset.
Repartition to same firmware with Odin.
Wipe cache, wipe data.
I dunno what causes those error, bugs, glitches. Is it phone or android sytem?
Tried many sd card and always got same errors. But when I mounted mine sd card to another phone it worked perfect.

May 6, 2013I have a Samsung Galaxy ACE (GT-S5830i) which I have rooted but I am still on the stock rom/gingerbread 2.3.6
Today my phone said an update is available, so I connected to WiFi and downloaded the 30.14mb update, the update fails to install and I have now found out from searching that you cannot do a software update OTA once you are rooted, D'oh!!
So I now want to know how do I get rid of the 30mb update that I downloaded from my internal storage?! Can I simply delete it from the appropriate file, if so what is the folder/file called? or is it not as simple that?
If this 30mb update that didn't work cannot be simply deleted using my file manager app, then should I unroot my phone, and then try and update OTA again? and then root my phone once more? Would that work?!

Oct 26, 2010I'm developing a mapping app using Eclipse 3.5.I'm setting the minimum update period with the LocationManager's requestLocationUpdates method, via a configuration activity. When I set the property I see in Logcat that the system process sets the value OK.When I actually send a new location from the DDMS emulator control and the location changes on the map view, I see that the system process then sets the minimum time to zero.Below is a capture of the system's log messages. You can see that I'm setting the period to 32 seconds, then 16, then, after I've sent a simulated location change the system sets it to zero.The map responds to location changes to location changes instantly even if they are sent only a couple of seconds apart.

Mar 22, 2012I am trying to install sensation 3.3.401 but after i go to recovery and apply update from SD card it gives me E:signature verification failed installation aborted. It does nothing when i wipe cache or factory reset.when I reboot or turn on my phone it pops the HTC logo followed by another HTC logo and a restart over and over again. In my Recovery Screen there is a message showing E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command.
And i have no toggle options in my recovery. just Reboot system now Apply update from SD card Wipe data/factory reset Wipe cache partition.

Every now and then the phone reminds me to install the update. When I attempt, I just get:
E: Invalid command argument
Finding...
Opening...
Verifying...
E: Failed to verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed
Even if I press 'Yes - install untrusted zip', I just get a few messages that I can't read, and then "Installation aborted" and phone restarts.
I did some googling and the only thing I found was something about it being unable due to the phone being rooted. And to manually update with signature verification off, but then it didn't really explain how to go about that.If possible I'd like to get it to work without having to change too much.

Aug 28, 2012I am getting a window that keeps popping up on my screen over and over.It has to do with a email program. I use the default email program. I can't remember but I may have been downloaded a go email program that could be causing this. The following error is what I get and I can't figure out how to make it stop permanently..The following error is:.
The application email (process.android.email) has stop unexpectedly please try again.
So, I tried to go through the manage applications to remove email but I don't want to remove the default email program by accident and not be able to receive email. Do you all have any how to's to stop this from repeating.
Also I get a lot of notification indications on the top bar like advertising and stuff. Does the go programs cause that? Is there a way to deactivate the advertisement and still be able to use the program for what it does. These are the programs that modify your themes like keyboards, wallpaper, and o.s. software.
