View 1 Replies View RelatedI just received a new Nexus 7 32GB and am having some issues. I'm trying to setup my email using my base email address thru Comcast. I have no trouble revieving email through the email setup not Gmail but there is no provision for an address book or contacts list for sending emails. I Googled around and found K-9 Email and went to Google Apps to download it and upon tapping the download button a message came up stating "no devices found". The Nexus7 is running Jellybeen 4.2.1.
View 1 Replies View Relatedrecommend an email client that requires you to put in your email account password each time you connect?I want to use it specifically for my banking and nothing else/no other email accounts.I don't really want the app to save my password, because I don't routinely password-protect my phone (too much hassle for too little benefit), and I want to know that my bank details/emails are safe if I ever lost my phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI sync my contacts w/Google Contacts and am running Jellybean 4.2.1 on the Nexus 4. My issue is a husband and wife I know share the same email address but have different cell #s. Android refuses to show the wife in my contact list as long as she shares the same email address with the husband. If I remove the email address for the wife, she shows up in my contact list. The moment I add it back, on the next sync, she disappears from the contact list.
Questions:
1. Is there any way to stop android from marking a contact as a duplicate if the cell # differs but the email is the same?
2. Is there anyway to override the duplicate detection for a specific contact?
I have no knowledge about android programming (but I know java language) and I wish to know if exists an app that automatically sends a directory (zipped or in any compression format) to a specified email address every day, for example.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a quick search and didn't find any posts relating to text message limits.I have what I believe is a Motorola Droid 1 (How do I find out for sure?) using Verizon as my carrier.
I was told that any text message sent to me that is larger than the standard 160 characters, would be split up into two or more messages. This is not happening on my phone, and I'm wondering if this is an OS problem, phone problem, or if I just need to call Verizon to have them investigate?
I have gotten several texts that were cut off, never to receive the rest of the message. Also, is there a way to have text messages forwarded to an email address as a backup?
I'm a newbie to this forum, and hope someone can help. Have had the Captivate for almost a month now and am plagued by an annoying problem. I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a Nexus S running 4.0.4 and the emulator running 4.1.2. I'm experiencing the exact same thing on both:
I have two exchange accounts configured in the EMAIL application. When I view the unified inbox and compose a new email, I am unable to select the non-default FROM address (clicking the FROM address does nothing). In order to send an email from the non-default, I have to enter the inbox for that account THEN compose a new email - requires several more clicks than necessary.
I have asked several friends and some say they do have this option - however they are all on carrier customized roms.
I'm using a Blu Tank 4.5 running Android 4.1.1
Everything (apps, email, txts, etc) all file to the internal phone memory even though, on the settings page, (Settings/Storage/Phone Storage) I have highlighted the SD Card button. The SD card is recognised by the phone and reports 29.57 GB available. I want data to file to the SD card.
So my phone is rooted, obviously.
When I try to setup an account so that I can access Google Play Store
I get this error:
Setup Could Not Finish Unable to open connection to server.
That is when it is on
Server [URL]...
I searched online and I saw that it should be [URL]... as the server, so I put it as that.
Now I get this error:
Setup could not finish This server requires security features your phone does not support.
I have a MyTouch 4g.
I've occasionally had some issues with seeing the white HTC screen between switching apps and what not, is this because all of them are on my phone? Is it better to put some on the sd card?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just hooked up my Credit Card to the Google Play Store, and bought a couple of apps, and after that, attempted to remove it. I went to [URL] and went to the 'Payment Methods' and tried removing the card. But it warned me:
Quote:
The following purchases will be affected:
*All the apps I purchased*
Will removing the card remove these apps from my Google account? And I won't be able to update/redownload them later?I have to remove it really soon.
I obviously have my main gmail account running. But my school also uses gmail for our school email's but our address is xxxx@mail.usf.edu. How do I go about adding that as my second email account on the phone? I think I was on the right track, but I don't know what type of server it is, which I think is the main thing I'm asking here. Move this to another sub-forum if you must.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI like to add addresses to my phone book in Android. As a lot of my contacts live in buildings i also like to add the floor and apartment number to the address: Looking like that:
Street and Number, Floor and Department number
Town, zip code
State
Country
Example;
Av. Whatever 12345, Floor 5-A
Buenos Aires 1007
Argentina
When clicking on the address the GPS of my wish opens , finds the country, city but not the street because of the additional Floor and department information. Without this additional information everything well with Google Maps or Sygic.
So, how should i add this additional Floor and department information to my address without the GPS has problems to find the main location. Also from ICS on there is only one filed to add the whole address not as with Gingerbread where you had a field for street, city, etc.
I have an HTC Evo, When I set up my email account through the email app I put in the wrong email address. Now when I try to type in the right one it auto suggests the wrong one. Can anyone tell me how to clear it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use "note to self" and it records fine and I hit send, It then pops up email clients. if i choose, yahoo it doesn't autofill anything, if i choose the built in mail app it auto fills the subject and the message but it does not have my email address as a default, so I have to type it in every time. Since it is note to self, shouldn't it keep my email address in there. I haven't found a way to make it default. Any suggestions?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have multiple gmail addresses set up on my phone through the gmail app. However, when I use any HTC app (People,Gallery)and try to send an email through these apps (I believe it directs me to the HTC mail app), I can only send emails from one of my addresses (which is not my primary address).Does anyone know of a way to switch primary email addresses for HTC apps or how to at least switch on the fly between different addresses when sending emails launched from other HTC apps (People, Gallery, etc.).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am writing an app and I want to send the user a welcome email when they install the app, in order to do this I could prompt them to enter their email address, but I would prefer to just detect the email of their account on the phone and send it without forcing them to type.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to get the email address of the Google account tied to the phone (the one the user enters upon setup). I need it to uniquely identify the user of my app - however I do not want their password as it would, understandably, scare most users away from using the app. So I need a way of getting the email address without having to include permissions that suggest I am accessing account info etc...
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if the X can "remember" a sent email address? My iPhone/BB both did this, but I cant tell if there is an option for this here.
For example, if I email an address thats not in my contacts, the next time I try to email that address I have to type out the entire address again, whereas with my iPhone or BB it would remember my sent addresses and I could just select them, even if they werent in my contacts.
Also I see no option to never delete from server. If I download email from my POP account onto my phone, will I still be able to get that on my PC when I get to my office? If I delete it as well?
I want to change the email address the phone is set up to. But I have a niggling suspicion doing so requires a factory reset. First things first, please tell me if that's wrong and I'll be happy. If however I'm right, What's the best way to go about saving everything? If I download a backup program, will it store all my settings, apps etc or just data on the SD card? And will changing the email address bugger something up and stop me from restoring the backup? I wouldn't put it past google.
