I discovered that in sms delivery notification only recipient number is displayed.
Is there any way to show recipient name in delivery report popup?

I want to know how to get SMS Delivery Report setting which is stored in the /data/data/com.android.mms com.android.mms_preferences.xml. I wrote a application to read it with the following code:
SharedPreferences prefs = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); boolean requestDeliveryReport = prefs.getBoolean( "pref_key_sms_delivery_reports", true);
Seems it does not work, it always returns the default value which is "true". Does anybody know how to read/write the SMS Delivery Report setting.
Just got this badass i9000 and loving it! I am Using 02, and before on my old ericson, you could do setup a template with *0# at the begining of every message to do a Delivery Report (lets you know that the recipient got the text by texting you back automatically) so everytime you wrote a new msg you could use that template with one click... Is this possible to tag every outgoing SMS with *0# automatically or setup templates? Otherwise how using 02 can I get a delivery report (normal setting for delivery report dont work for 02)
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have searched for hours after a solution to get delivery reports for sms in my Xperia X8. What I understand there is no way to get proper delivery reports, that is a report AFTER the message has been delivered to the recipent. I have used several sms apps like Handcent and in this program I choosed the alternative "report when the sms has reached the recipent". No delivery report was shown. I sent an sms to my older phone, the sms was receieved but no delivery report was shown. In my older W595 this was no problem and I use the same SIM card and same telephone number.
Is the Xperia X8 such a lousy phone and the developers such amateurs that they didn´t include such a simple function in a mobile launched in 2010? Hoping for some tips! Perhaps there is an app that fixes the problem?
On the Motorola Droid what does the little icon mean next to a text that has a little red clock on it? I can't find it anywhere. Also, is there a way to see if someone received a text message? on my other verizon phones I could. It showed a little check mark.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a particular problem with the Desire in the format of the delivery report for the messages. It only says 'received', or sometimes 'pending'. I have done some tests, and the pending status does not change when it's actually delivered, and sometimes it will say 'received' when the phone the message is being sent to is switched off.
I used this function (on my trusty old Sony C905) to send messages to phones when they were off, the delivery report would come in with the date and time that the phone was switched on and the message delivered.
Is there an app that I can download to do better management of message tracking? Hopefully the same app that will let me see arabic characters as mentioned in my other query.
I understand how to create a new message and send it to multiple recipients...but...how do I send a reply from one recipient to multiple people?
Example:
Incoming text from 555-1234: "It's a boy!"
Reply: "Congrats!" <-- will only respond to 555-1234
I would prefer to have something like:
Incoming from 555-1234: "It's a boy!"
Reply to 555-1234 and 2 other people: "Congrats on your new baby boy, 555-1234!"
Can't seem to figure out how to add additional recipients on the response.
I am trying to send pictures to another phone, the MMS seems to be sending from my hpne, (no error messages or anything) but the other phone isnt receiving them. I can receive MMS from the other phone to mine but not vice versa...
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverytime i drive to my girlfriend's house i have to write a message that i have arrived and she can come out but i have to prepare text it while standing in the traffic jam, at the traffic light or while driving (it's uncomfortable and dangerous!).
So i though - what about a shortcut on my home screen or in my "Car Home" app that:
will send a certain template message to a certain recipient just by one click on the shortcut (well maybe can be two clicks that the second will ask for confirmation "YES/NO").
As a CM7 user, I thought that this is not possible in Android, but for a day, I have been using MIUI rom and it had an excellent SMS feature where you could see the real time when the text message was actually received by the person you sent it to.
There is something like that in Go SMS, but the 'received' time given by this program is fake. Once the delivery report is confirmed, the 'received' time is set to the same as 'sent' time. In MIUI it was the real 'received' time that was recorded for later view.
Also, MIUI firmware seemed to be able to read this value for SMS messages sent before installation of this firmware, which would suggest this value is stored in any firmware.
So, the question is - how can I get the REAL 'received' time on a non-MIUI rom?
Additionally, is is possible to set a sound for notification your SMS has been received by the addressee? Again, this function is present in MIUI.

Many user are facing a serious issue with Facebook Messenger: it automatically activate the Delivery Report in SMS when using it as the main SMS app. So, what's the matter? Well, the problem is that in some country (as here in Italy) the delivery reports are billed 0,20 € each!! Many users spent near 10€ to realize where the problem is.
So my questions is : is there a way to "mod" the facebook messenger app to disable this terrible delivery reports "functionality"?
The GMail-App on my Xoom and my Nexus S (both with Android 4.0.3) is driving me crazy. In former times I could easily report mails as no spam.
That doesn't work anymore. Instead I guess it should be possible to mark the mails and label them as "Inbox". But that doesn't work, either. With some luck, it works with 1 or 2 mails, but the rest stays in SPAM, even though at first they disappear from the spam-folder.
Isn't there a way to do that? Why is there no real option to mark the mails as no spam?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an original Nexus 7 running Android 4.3. I just learned about the "Take bug report" and "Power menu bug report" method to capture screen shots and logs. Unfortunately, they don't seem to work for me.
I'm logged on with my normal Google account. When I use either method, I get the "Take bug report" popup. When I tap on Report, the popup goes away and then nothing happens - no email - nothing. I've seen a couple of other reports of this happening.

If I look at the thread, it shows the correct recipient, but it is def not going to the right person. This has happened to me 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It could be a really big problem if you are texting personal/private/sensitive information. I use the app: SMS popup. I wonder if this could be the issue.

If I open the Messages application, click on New message and then select a recipient, I get the error "Invalid recipient". If instead I reply to an SMS or select a contact from the contact list and choose to create an SMS, then the recipient is filled in correctly and I don't get any error. Is anyone aware of the possible reason for this and how can I get it fixed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I added a "corp" email to my X. However, when i compose a new message, or reply to one, in the TO: field, there is a "+" icon, click it and it will bring up names. NOW - If you SEARCH for someone, say Mike. when it finds them all, there are no check boxes. you can only select the contact. When you Do, it drops you back to the new message, but the contact is NOT in the To: field. Its just blank. If i Scroll to Mike, and select him, I get a set of 2 emails for him, which check boxes. I select the one i want and press done. Now i get dropped back to the email, and Mike is in the to: field. WHAT am I doing wrong, that I cant Search for someone and add him to the to: field. Long press just brings up delete. Is this why BB still wins corp email?
