I have problem with either YouTube (latest version) app, or Autostarts 1.7.5 app.When I turn off autostart of YouTube app in pretty much every single event with Autostarts 1.7.5 app I get what I wanted - no YouTube self-start. It's great. But problem is when I start YouTube app manually then magically settings for this application in Autostarts app is gone...

is there any app that blocks another apps to start. for example if i close the facebook app and remove it from the memory with the task manager, facebook starts after 10 seconds again. i dont mean apps like task killer that kill the app after it started.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am rooted and running xtrsense, running fully on cricket, thanks to pkopalek, he is the man!!, now im trying to flash different roms, and they go through perfect, but i need the autostartroot program from market in order to flash the cricket web and mms fix since its on my old rom and setup its not there after new rom,,, but i have no access to wifi, so anytime i flash a new rom, i need to flash the cricket fix, is there anyway to put auto-start on the sd, so that i have access to it after i flash the new roms? that way when i flash the new roms, i can just pull up autostart, and continue, thanks again guys for the help!!!

It seems this is related to some headsets causing an erroneous media button event when plugged, unplugged or moved. I understand that rooted users can use the Autostarts app to disable the music app from starting. This is for non-rooted users who are looking of an alternative.
I've created a few Tasker scripts that seem to eliminate the problem. First I created a task that runs an android media stop command and displays a popup so I know when the event occurs. Then I created 2 profiles that use this task. Media button play and media button next. Both profiles have grab and stop checked. This seems to stop the music player from starting when a headset sends a bad event to my droid.
I just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

But here's where my confusion sets in. When I watch a YouTube video with the stock YouTube app, videos buffer faster and/or play MUCH better when using 3G. I'm wondering if the 3G connection is utilizing some kind of compression that allows this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've created an app that plays kids videos from YouTube that I've found to be appropriate for children (hasn't been published yet). I've currently searched and found 60+ videos that would be ok and the list would certainly increase over time.
The app doesn't use the YouTube player so that the child cannot find inappropriate videos after watching their selection. Using the back button will only get them back to the app and when the video is done playing it will also return to the app. The app wouldn't have ads either. So, it is a little safer way to turn a kid loose allowing them to watch videos.
I know i can use hdmi, but I'd rather send a wireless signal from my (RAZR Maxx) phone to a receiving box hooked to TV to eliminate wires.
Is such a thing available? Apple tv does this with iphone i believe.

I paired my phone with a Bluetooth mouse, but if I move the mouse or click (or tap the phone with my finger), the pause button and seek bar ONLY show on the phone, NOT the TV.
I would like to use the Bluetooth mouse as a remote, but obviously with no on-screen controls appearing, this is difficult.
I have an old Samsung I-997 Infuse, running 2.2 Froyo, and rooted. After installing the latest YouTube version, my YouTube no longer works.. I'm guessing because of an incompatibility with the old Froyo version. When I try to view any YouTube, from the app. or even from the web, I get a simple announcement which states "An Error Occurred".I've tried the normal uninstall, reinstall. Is there a way to install an older version of YouTube?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got this weird issue on all my devices where after a certain point the video freezes, buffers for ~8 seconds, plays for a couple and repeat. This is not video specific and changing the quality does not fix this, it just makes the problem appear later on. In HQ quality, after about 1:45 minutes of playing flawlessly it starts buffering the whole damn time. SQ quality can play up to 3-4 minutes before any issues arise.
This is on a broad range of devices, both mine and those of friends. My own Samsung Galaxy S2 running CM10.1 and Cube U30GT running CM10, but had the issue on stock, and a stock Galaxy Note and HTC Hero 2.
Other info. It's not network related. Happens on both wifi and 3g and on different connections/ISPs. My own Internet connection clocks up to 20mbps and has no problem playing any YT video on my PC. Other "streaming" video stuff work great. Twitch.tv plays great as does dailymotion. Other players, other than the default YT app, have no issues playing videos even on HQ. YT through the browser works fine but somehow doesn't let me switch to HQ and the "UI" generally feels bad. Feedly (which is great btw), has a sort of plugin that uses the YT app to play videos natively. Any videos played in the feedly app, using this "plugin" play great even in HQ, which is weird. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling, stalling, killing, maiming, clearing data+cache, completely wiping the devices and sacrificing firstborns to Lucifer.
This feels like a caching issue of the youtube app. It feels like it starts caching up to a point (playing great in the process) and at some points cache fills up and starts deleting in order to make space to cache further. That leads to the pause and buffering of the video.
I've had this problem ever since installed then uninstalled avast and the antitheft bit that sometimes youtube won't play videos.The app shows the videos available and I can search but when you click to play all you get is the spinning circle.
It doesn't happen often and a restart of phone always fixed it before but now that's not working.Cleared cache etc but nothings working. What can cause this and how to sort it?
Its a stock rooted gb rom and only happened when avasts hidden app didn't uninstall after getting superuser rights and I had to freeze the hidden app then uninstall it with titanium backup. It did say (avast) something about doing something to nand.
So can't tell if this is a bug in a new update or something basically every time I don't use the Youtube app for more than 5 mins it signs me out. Then when I open it Youtube signs me in for another 5 mins. Screenshots from EVO buts its also happening on Note ii
I found out it signs me out after I end the process (like closing it in multitasking)
Things I did to try to fix this ..
Force stop Youtube and remove all user data/cache
Completly factory reset without backing up any system apps or anything to do with Google
Removed Google account, and add it again
Wipe Just Cache
Use a modified Youtube app
I've debloated my sammy stock rom and installed the modified Youtube application. [URL] ......However this one keeps force closing. The same happens with the original application.
To debloat my rom i've used this CWM script (made by me) perhaps did i removed a bit to much.. [URL] ....
Logcat is attached. (in a lame .zip file because XDA cant accept .txt lager than 512 kb )
I've performed the next steps in attempt to fix it myself:
- Reinstalled the app
- Delete its data
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik
- Wipe data
- Fixed permissions
New app, modded to be inverted colors similar to the old app before it?? LG-P500

I had the Yahoo account prior to having an Android phone and would prefer to not set up another account. Doesn't appear that I can move my Yahoo account over to Gmail.
