I have a Xperia mini pro and it worked perfectly till one week ago because I face a problem with my WIFI.
when I turn on my WiFi and want to use it after maybe 1 minute suddenly it turn off and turn on again and it continue ... so I cant work fine.
Is it hardware problem how can i fix that???I change many kernels and rom's but still I have problem.

After the update, all of a sudden I get the problem that as soon as I turn on WiFi I get the message "unable to scan for networks" and then it switches WiFi off.

Any app involving the internet would force close after being on it for a certain amount of time, which was no big deal, I would just restart my phone. But then it started happening more frequently, and it would force close sooner, sometimes even force closing as soon as I entered the app. Then this morning, I found that my WiFi was off (which was weird because i don't turn off WiFi at home). I went into my settings to turn it back on, locked my phone, and went to do something else. When I went to check Facebook, I saw that the WiFi wasn't on. So again, I went into settings, but instead of just pushing "Turn on Wi-Fi", I went into "Wi-Fi Settings". I saw that I had lost all my saved WiFi networks (including my house), and it wasn't picking any up, even though I know that there are multiple in my area. I tried re-entering my home WiFi settings, but that still didn't work. I did a few more times, then when it still failed, I restarted my phone and tried again. Still nothing. Then I went out, and was still unable to pick up any WiFi, and any internet based apps still weren't working, even with 3G on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy X10i keeps dropping its WiFi conection. It is in an "excellent" signal strength area. I can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. When the mobile network signal drops, then the WiFi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. When the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the WiFi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. This cycling is happening every minute or two. Which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. Things improve if I turn off 3G and set network to GSM only.

Now... I use Locale for the following:
- Turning the ringer down when I get to work (obviouse one)
- Turning GPS/Bluetooth/wifi on when I plug it in the phone (think car dock)
- Turn on Wifi when I get near my known hot spots.
- Turn off GPS/Bluetooth/wifi off and turn down brightness when my battery is low.
And the last one is a good one for me...
- I have a GV number. When I call my phone from that number, it turns the ringer volume all the way up and it turns on wifi and GPS. This is my "lost phone aid". It turns on the locating features so I can see where the phone is using iGoogle and Latitude, and I can hear the phone if it is "in the cushions" on vibrate.
Anyone else get creative with Locale?
I have an issue with my Xperia X10 mini. Whenever I connect using WiFi @home it shows me that I am connected however when I try to browse internet it doesn't work. I tried having an unsecured connection but in vain. Anyone else facing similar issue or have a solution for this issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been doing a lot of browsing of sites such as youtube on my phone. I thought this was all happening via the wifi connection to my home network, however I have discovered it has been doing it from 3G as well, since it has eaten up a lot of money on my phone.
The question is how do I enable Internet browsing on wifi as default (when wifi connections are present) rather than through 3G?
This is really important since it seems to have cost me a fortune, when I could have been browsing for free at home. I have the X10mini pro and am running Android 2.1
I just got a Dell Venue 8 which comes standard with Android 4.2.2 and it continuously reconnects to my wifi network. It just cycles through Connecting -> Authenticating... -> Saved, Secured with WPA and then starts over again with connecting. All other devices work on the network so it isn't the router. I've tried to toggle wifi on and off, toggle airplane mode on and off, forget and reconnect to the network, and turning it off and on and nothing has corrected it. I haven't found much googling this issue or on Dell's support page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm at home, I keep my 3G data services turned off. I have a wifi connection and the 3G connection isn't very good inside my house anyway. For some reason, every time I open Android Market, it tells me I have to turn on data services, even if I'm connected already to wifi, and then it keeps interrupting because of the poor 3G connection. Is there any way to force this application to use wifi? I have no problem with other applications.

View 3 Replies View RelatedGot a brand new phone yesterday. Upgraded it to Android 2.1 before using it. In general, phone is functioning properly, however none of the applications (i.e. YouTube, Gmail, Maps) will work over the 3G connection, but the Web Browser does function ok. The apps will work over WiFi (which isn't much use if you're trying to use maps or gmail on the go). I have tried restarting phone (battery out restart). It is not a signal strength issue, I am getting HSPA with full bars and it still times out with "no connection detected" (or variations thereof, depending on the actual application). I can work around this using the web browser based clients for these apps, but as they aren't streamlined they are a PITA to use.

Interestingly it connects to wiki in my school network. At home, it scans, finds the network, says "connecting" and goes to "Disconnected" status. Setting static IP does not work, selecting Wifi network and Connect does not work.

It's a double sim model, which I have two sims, since the companies are spanish, let's call them Green Sim and Blue Sim (since that's how they are color coded in my status bar). It is also running Android Jelly Bean 4.2. Here is the problem. Ever since of March 20, a Chinese app appeared on my home screen, I don't know how, something called "Mobile Video" but the content was in a foreign Asian language. I suspect of my friend since I lent it to him for 15 minutes and then it appeared. Aside of this, the wifi and the Green Sim 3G was turned on.
I clicked on the app curious of it was something my friend downloaded from me, but then the app prompted me two options, I didn't know what it said since again, it was Asian. Next, I proceeded to uninstall it, going to my apps list, I was surprised to see another mysterious app, "Push_Down", that was the name. I uninstalled both Mobile Video and Push_Down.
Next day when I woke up, I found two new apps on my homescreen, and again, the Wifi and Green Sim 3G was on.These were Chinese also. I uninstalled them both and found once again "Push_Down" in my apps. After I uninstalled them, I thought the problem was finally fixed. Wrong again. Since this event, about every 2 or 3 hours, my Wifi and Green Sim 3G turn on automatically, but haven't downloaded anything new, one, because I have no credit left, and two, I have no internet at home. Ever since, daily I wake up, the same problem, the Wifi and 3G are on. I checked my SD Card, I checked my Phone Storage, both with 2 Antivirus (Avast!, and Lookout Mobile) and with Addons Detector. Surprisingly, nothing has appeared.
My last option is what hurts me most, to reset my phone, which I don't want to do since I have lots of apps installed, progress made with certain games and etc, etc. Also, I am not a root user, so I haven't rooted and won't root my phone.
if i dont use my wifi it turns its self off and doesn't reactivate properly. Is there anyway I can turn that off so my wifi always stays on?

Everytime I wake the screen from lock screen, I can already see the WiFi indicator is on above, it's driving me nuts I have to turn it back off every once in a while. This only happen lately when I install many apps from Store I can't remember, so I reckon one of those apps is the main cause of this problem. Which in my running apps turns on my WiFi automatically?

I wish my phone stops turning on without any notice it drains my battery and my patience.
I received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.
But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.
xperia mini can't send messages to multiple recipients what gives?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had an LG Optimus S phone for a month, that I run almost exclusively on wifi (I have a pay-as-you-go plan for data, so I've turned 3G off so I only use it when I need it). Often at home the wifi turns off when the phone is sleeping... I'll turn on the phone to check something, but then I have to manually click the wifi back on and wait for it.

I press to turn on the wifi and it just says turning on, and it like, freezes on turning on, then after a while it will turn itself off. It was working before and suddenly its just happened.
I have tried a factory reset and twice it has worked for a while then it goes back to freezing on "Turning On"
I have just noticed that since a few days back my wifi icon in my CM7 nookcolor is not turning green anymore. Apparently the only related problem is gmail is not refreshing automatically. Google Play is working fine and I'm able to browse the internet.
The problem must be related to my wifi, because whenever I connect to my neighbors or my office wifi, it goes green without doing anything special.I read google play requires an specific port open in the firewall, which is not open in mine although Gplay is working without it.
Is there any specific port or another setting that should be enabled in my wifi in order to my nook to connect to Google servers?
My data and Wi-Fi keeps turning itself on. I googled around and found that this problem has been around for a while and a lot of people are complaining about this however there still isn't any solution. Some suggested that ShopSavy was doing this, but I uninstalled it and still got the problem, and I even re-installed the ROM. Looks like this is happening to ICS users only.

I have a Samsung S3 with VirginMobile. I know in the past several years ago, you have to root the phone in order to make your phone into a WiFi Hotspot.
I just wondering if this is still true? Can I make my phone into a WiFi Hotspot without rooting the phone? If so, how can I do it?

Have owned an xperia mini pro for about 2 weeks now. It has a problem that every few days or so the screen locks up and becomes unresponsive and the only way to reset it is to do a battery pull. My question basically is should I take it back to the shop, or is it likely to need to have android reinstalled or something?
It did this on the very first startup after unboxing, it froze up when choosing the language setting, so obviously it is unrelated to any other apps i have installed. At the time I didnt think it was too much of a problem but then as I say, it started doing it every few days.
The wifi on my phone Samsung Galaxy Chat will not turn on all of a sudden. Same is the issue with Bluetooth.
The wifi button in the drop down screen is kind of greyed out and when settings is opened the [off-on] is greyed out. In wifi settings it just says "turning on...".
All firmware up to date. Phone isnt damaged or dropped. I have restarted the phone many times and also performed factory reset twice and cleared the cache too.
