Mar 13, 2012Android has millions of features but there is no world clock. I think Google forgetting about it! I'm waiting it since Cupcake but still no step. Did you notice it too?

Android :: Digital World Clock?
Apr 6, 2010I'm looking for a small world clock digital clock widget that I can put on my home screen that would take 1-2 icon slots. In particular, it needs to be a world clock (ie: not the normal time on your phone, configurable to some other time), it needs to be a digital clock, and it would help if it supported military time format. I'd also like it to be smallish, in that it takes no more than 2 icon slots on my screen. I have a Milestone and for some ungodly reason we have all this empty space around icons in a 4x4 screen. Any help would be appreciated. The world clock on my phone is a regular dial-style analog clock, looks like it takes 2x2 icon slots, and is difficult to read. Plus, being analog, there's no way to tell AM/PM.

Oct 6, 2010I'm migrating over from the iPhone and one think I like about the iPhones Clock app is that it has a tab for world clocks while it also manages the alarms. I'm looking for an app (not widget) that gets the job done similarly on Android but I haven't really found one. It seems that clock apps are either clock/alarm or world clock only, not combining the functionality.

Aug 12, 2009I am a noob at java. so i decided to start at the android dev guide and go through their tutorials. naturally i started with this one: http://developer.android.com/guide/tutorials/hello-world.html. i followed the instructions, ran the program when the guide said to, and it all seemed to work without any errors, except that the program didn't display the text i had written in the setText() part. it infact displayed the words "Hello world, HelloAndroid!". the only thing that bugs me about that is my setText looks like "tv.setText("Hello, Android");". the word world doesn't even come up anywhere in the project. so what's going on here?

Nov 11, 2009I have a new Sprint hero and the Flip Clock doesn't flip it just changes and I've seen the Euro Hero it flips so cool, just like the flip clocks from the old days.. WTH why do our American phones always come watered down when compared to the Asian and Euro models!!!! Sorry for the rant! But I paid for a hero with a Flipping Clock that actually flips!! P.S. i've done some Youtubeing and all the videos that have the Sprint Hero they don't flip why!

Jul 22, 2010Tried to set an alarm on the default clock app on the Legend. To my surprise, it never went off when it was supposed to. When I tested it I was quite shocked to find that the built-in/default sounds wouldn't play. When it put I enabled the vibrate checkbox, it began to vibrate at the set time but there was no sound. So I downloaded an alarm app from the droid marketplace and it worked fine. Even the default Legend sounds were working in the app. When I went back to the built-in alarm, the sounds started playing normally. Not sure what could've caused this. Could it have something to do with the task-killer?

Jan 19, 2010got a few things im not sure how to fix or what im doing wrong. first off my alarm clock does not go off in the mornings for work. i set a alarm for a few mins ahead of the actual time to see if it works and it goes off. but the next morning nothing still. also both my emails do not refresh themselves anymore. i have to go in and refresh to see if i got any mail. Another thing is when i change my notification ringtone for my text messages it does not change to what i set. i go back in and it is still set to what i put it at but when i get a text its not what i set... does anyone have any ideas on any of this. im sure im doing something wrong but its driving me crazy

How do I determine the correct information to use for this process? Should I collect this information with the device connected to a windows PC?
Once connected, I would like to scrap their existing operating system and begin from AOSP source, what information from their original source should I retain (Kernel, bootloader, etc), and what information would I be required to remove to bring in AOSP?
But most seem to be specifying nexus devices, or devices which already have a strong developer backing, neither of which apply to this hardware.

May 15, 2014For some reason on my Nexus 5 running Liquidsmooth AOSP, I can not receive any GCM push notifications. My push notifications work fine on stock. This is happening for apps like instagram, twitter, snapchat, etc. It only appears to happen when my phone in deep sleep, when the screen is off for roughly 5+ minutes. I have tried PNF, different gapps, different kernels. Also on a clean install of course.

I have a data plan and tethering access through my provider (Rogers in Canada). tethering has ceased to function, as stated above, I can enable and my devices can see the network, but they will never acquire internet access after connection, even though I have full signal and the phone itself has internet access

Jan 4, 2014I am working on building from aosp 4.4.2. I have built it with the pre-built kernel without any problems. Then, I managed to get a custom kernel code in place and it builds. Now the only thing left to do is the initramfs/ramdisk for the custom kernel I have in place. Currenlty my build will not boot. I suspect it is using the initramfs/ramdisk from aosp.
Any source files or files that handle the initramfs/ramdisk? I have found bits and pieces strewn throughout the source code but cannot pinpoint the indivitual files or the script/mk file that produces the ramdisk found in the out folder after my system finishes building.
I know I can change the initramfs/ramdisk manually by repacking the boot.img, but I would prefer everything be completed in the updatpackage.

Oct 8, 2013I'm running a 4.3 aosp ROM and only flashed a very minimal gapps(only playstore loginframework play services and GMSCore ) . I can't access my quick setting tiles as the icon is missing from the notification pulldown and my lock screen doesn't work no matter what security I put. If I flash the full gapps they work. What dependencies am I missing?
