as it seems WhatsApp removed the option to disable automatic picture downloads. I've sent them a mail and they told me that if I want the feature I have to install the app from their homepage. If I do that, will it still be updated through the store? It is atleast listed in the store as installed.

I disabled the download service, which mean that every single app that use a download (ex chrome, play store, ecc) crashes. How can i enable it again without restoring the phone?

Every Rom I load (Skyraider Vanilla,ShadowRom, The NewGuy Etc.) starts restoring my phone. Usually as soon as it connects with google, it has an old wallpaper up and starting to pull apps. I know how to disable it (menu -> privacy), but my question two-fold:
1. Do all roms have this feature built in?
A. If so, is it hard to remove that feature.
2. Assuming that above A. is difficult, how does one find the backup in google and clear it out so there is nothing to restore?
I know I can't be the only one this bugs, and I'm fairly certain I am overlooking some very simple step in this whole process.
My husband was playing around with my Android 4.2 tablet and somehow disabled the slide to next page feature and apparently turned on the voice only (not sure if that is what it is called but it says every movement that you make...back, home, you have 10 new messages, etc....SO annoying). I also have to double click to get to anything...SO annoying. I know I have to get to settings, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get to the second page of apps (where the settings is). It won't slide because it's set to double click I guess...no clue!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Samsung i7500 phone.When I upgrade my firmware on 1.6 series including jc4 - 5- 6 after signing on market with my same account I see that terminal emulator program is installed on my phone. Also I can't uninstall or run that program because that part of market is not available.So is that a virus or something that shows it's name as terminal emulator or ? what is it.Because i can't install that on cupcake IIK5. but on 1.6 i can't uninstall it.Is anyone know something about of that problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to relay my issues that occurred with Startup Auditor. I use a Moto Droid 2.0.1.
First issue: I disabled Google Talk Startup as non of my friends have an Android device. This caused an issue with the Market. none of my apps would download the updates and I could not Download new apps. The Market is somehow connected to Google Talk. After enabling Talk and logging back in my apps started downloading.
Second issue: I disabled the stock messaging app because I am using Handcent SMS. This caused my text messages to delete themselves. When I opened my messaging treads all that was shown was my side of the conversation. After re enabling the stock Messaging app my messages started downloading and showing up in the treads. Handcent must use some of the same things that the stock app uses and Startup Editor was killing.
I have a question about Whatsapp, is there a way to set it so it only uses wi-fi? I have a low mobile data allowance and would rather just use wi-fi for this app.

I noticed that my whatsapp has stopped sending images now. I don't share material that would infringe any copyrights.
Any image I send won't even get delivered to the server (the first tick).
PS.Already tried a restart and a reinstall.
I got the apk file of whatsapp, and I renamed to .zip to extract the contents to change the icons by replacing them in the drawable-hdpi folder. Now the problem is that I zipped all the contents and renamed it to apk again but after this the file isn't getting installed (I have uninstalled whatsapp on my phone because we cannot replace it).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a SGSII and recently i switched from the official ICS rom to CM9 (build date 20 april). I expected to get a better battery life since CM9 is so populair. Unfortunately this isn't the case and so i want to switch back. Only thing is, last time i switched, all my whatsapp conversations were blanc. I couldn't retrieve any old conversations. I know you can email the conversations to yourself but that's not what i want (or is it possible to use these emails in some kind of way to get the conversations back into whatsapp???). Is it possible to backup all my conversations so i can put them back into whatsapp after i flashed the phone to another rom (probably the official rom).
Also, as you can see, I'm not fond of CM9 although this is the most populair rom. Did i do something wrong? I'm a heavy whatsapp user and even when i'm charging the battery drains when using whatsapp (brightness auto and stable WiFi connection). I never game on my device or use bluetooth or gps. I mostly use my phone for facebook, whatsapp, twitter and browsing. Also my phonesignal drops sometimes and my 3G is also worse than before.
Is there a ROM which will give me with my requirements the best Battery life + phonesignal (3G)??
I have 2 ThL devices: w200 & w100s, and for both I having the same problem.
Every time whatsapp compresses the video, it recived corrupted (only voice with black picture).
I tried to use LGCAMERA (MPEG4) as well, but the problem still exist.
I've installed kitkat 4.4.2 on Friday and everything was really ok. Today I realized when someone is calling me on Viber,there are no contacts,the same is with WhatsApp.
And when I want to use my phone contacts,they are all gone. Then I need to copy the contacts from the sd card(cause there is no option to show contacts from sim card) and they showed up,when I click on Viber again,the contacts are gone again.
