In the Phone Memory (not the external microSD) there is a folder named Android.
It has two folders in it, "data" and "obb".

Is this like "program files" in windows? Or "/usr" for freebsd or linux file folder structure?

This is my first Android device and my second SE phone.I have a question.
When i put application in the ''others'' folder of memory card,how do it access it on phone.
I'm wanting to learn more about android. Is there a way to use memory from the sd card for the phones internal memory? Is there an app that will tell me whats useing up so much memory? I'm on the ZTE warp sequent ,rooted.
View 1 Replies View Relatedone is clearly the folder for my actual sdcard (sdcard2) and the other (sdcard) seems to be where all my apps and downloads go. this creates an unreliability being that the phones sdcard folder isnt connected to my removable card and thus making backups useless.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to put my 6000+ mp3 collection on a 64GB microSD card (class10) and I can transfer them fine on my computer but when I go to view the folder on my phone it says there is nothing in it while my pictures folder (3GB) on the same card on the same phone shows everything fine. Using stock Android 4.1.2 on LG Optimus Pro G. Am I hitting some subfolder limitation or something?

First of all using de Android terminal emulator, and using comands. I tried that way but it keeps telling me: SH TAR: not found

Yes, I know a playlist would essentially solve my problem, but I sometimes choose the 'Shuffle All' option, which starts playing randomly from all the audio on my phone .. This is where the problem occurs, because Google Music often starts playing back those darn recorded calls :S

correction it did work while I was in recovery but once I was booted to the system the folder was gone for the second user.

my memory card is stuck at 30.6 mb and wont go back to 32 gigs. I've searched for hours through every post i can see about this issue the card is a sandisk class 10 32 gig micro sd. it is not a counterfeit card as i bought it at radio shack.i tried parted,SD formater,commands in terminal,sd formatter all of them format it to 30.6 mb very disappointing bought this card a month ago and worked flawlessly pulled it out of my sgs iii when i sold it and now its stuck and wont be recognized by my current phone it says safely remove card ive tried formatting in cwm it wont mount it nothing.

It is located in DCIM .thumbnails.
I know there is a fix of changing the folder to read only and sorts.(changing the file to read only works for a few moments then a new file generates with a new number.
But I do not just want to do a fix, I would like to know how I can trace what is causing it and fix it. The thumbnail file keeps increasing in size when I erase more files, right now it is at 1.2gb.
So my question, What is causing the thumbnail to be getting to 1.2gb, a larger size then my photos stored.
I was a self confessed iphone lover.. But a few days ago curiosity got me and I decided to get a Galaxy S3.
I can't say how much a love this phone and am a bit ashamed that I didn't realize how great android devices were. So far I have been able to find out on my own how to do pretty much everything I needed done except for one thing.
I work in music hence have a lot of music on my phone. I didn't want to restart the cataloging process of recreating playlist after playlist. So i found a solution to transfer my itunes to my phone.
I did this with Air Sync and DoubleTwist. The main problem I have is it put all of my music on my internal memory card and now it is full. I have a 32gb external SD card that is empty right now and was wondering if there is a solution to quickly transfer all of my music from the internal memory to the SD card. Furthermore I would like for the air sync / doubleTwist software to put all future music on the SD card as well.
I was using 4gb class 4 earlier , I bought 16gb class 6. At first empty ad card was working hood then when I used up a few gb and re inserted the sd card the problem began After 5-10 seconds of mounting sd it goes out and phone shows that sd is removed unexpectedly, sometimes my phone hangs in this cycle and reboots(starts again from bootanimation part) This sd works fine with other things like my Sony cybershot w-x50
