Jan 15, 2012where my phone wont scroll accuratly. Ill go back to try to fix an issue say 3 lines up from where I am and it wont scroll to the correct place I tried to place it. also if you get the cursor where you want it to fix a mistake getting it to go back where you were typing before trying to fix the mistake is a headache. Itll recenter the screen once yoy try to click back to where you were typing so you cannot see where or what your typing. I currently havr the nexus s but my evo4g did it to. The nexus is worse though. Sometimes its fine but uaually it isnt.

Jun 14, 2010I just got my Evo the other day and have been using advanced task killer app, and I notice that if I close certain app, like photobucket, amazon mp3 store, that they among a few other will just open back up and start running again. I have my background data turned off to save battery life. I live in a 4G market and this phone EATS battery power. Im lucky to get 5-6 hours our of the battery. Can someone explain why these rouge apps keep opening after I close them?

Nov 17, 2010I have the droid X as well as a friend of mine. I have ADW, he has LP. After side by side comparisons, I want to switch to ADW. The only thing that holds me back is that I use a LOT of folders on my home screens. ADW has the feature where you can select to close folders after selecting. I don't know why in the world they designed it so that the folder stays open. When I select something in the app drawer, it doesn't go back to the app drawer when I close the app. Why would I want the folder to be open after closing an app. Anyway, is there an option out there that will close folders after selecting something in it. I have tried folder organizer by Fabio Collini, but its a little confusing on how to use the darn thing.

I bought a couple of cheap case covers from China and as far as I understand they might not have the right material which causes the IR to be reflected instead of being absorbed.
I don't mind it locking really, aside from maybe a bigger battery consumage, since I often hear it locking itself while in my pocket.
No, my main problem is, with some of the covers, if I flip the front cover side to the back so I can hold the phone easily, it locks.
For example, the 2 I have on me, the leather one locks if I flip it over, the plastic one doesn't.
Really I'd like to disable the function alltogether, I prefer locking it myself together with the trusty 30s idle lock.
How do I disable auto locking when closing case cover.

For the Moment, it says it has a 360x640 resolution which is wrong. Everything I have read, including Samsung's website shows 320x480.
It says it has an FM radio and I have seen nothing or the sort anywhere. That would be nice if it did, but can't find anything to confirm this.
It says it has a Stereo loudspeaker. I can't find any specifications for this. Can anyone confirm or reject this claim?

Aug 31, 2010If I make a spelling error when typing a text but dont notice it until the text is finished it can be quite difficult to correct. Its a case of trying to insert the cursor by the error and then backspacing. This can be quite tricky. Or is there another way to do it? On my laptop there are directional arrows which allow me to take the cursor back through the text without deleting letters on the way. Is there an equivalent on the phone keypad?

Feb 21, 2012I just realized the lack of this feature (or incompatibility) when I tried to call someone and kept getting "your call cannot be completed" message from Verizon.
If Google is trying to target business users they need to get their act straight. The problem is not putting semi column or comma or upside down questionmark to dial extensions, but the issue is the compatibility.
Outlook and most contact management/e-mail systems use X as a divider between main number and extension.
It also makes sense "x" "eXtension". Anyway, I was able to sync all my contact beautifully, only to find out that I cannot call my clients, friends or the companies where I have to dial extensions. I don't remember all their extensions, and I cannot change hundreds of them one by one.
Any way to replace the default "x" for extension in Outlook 2010. Otherwise Android is useless for those calls.

I'm looking for a widget, that with one click of a button, it can restrict background data, disable auto-sync and enable mobile data, and when pressed again, enable WiFi, disable background restriction and enable auto-sync.
This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.
Is there anything like this out there? Would something like this require root?

Jul 20, 2010I'm looking for an alarm clock app with one very specific feature - allow me to set the alarm tone to automatically stop after X seconds, then start again at the next snooze interval, and play for another X seconds.
Sure it seems every alarm app out there allows me to set Snooze intervals and stuff, but with my waking up habit, I don't like to physically have to touch the phone to get it to shut up until the next snooze interval. I like to lay in bed and let the alarm go for like 3-4 snooze intervals before I finally wake up.
I've tried Alarm Clock PlusV2, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Quick Alarm. None of them seem to have this.
Android :: Task Panel Auto Kill Feature Not Auto-Killing?
Dec 7, 2009I installed it on my Droid and when I open the list and long press on an app it gives me the option to Auto-Kill. I assume this means I won't have to kill this app any longer so I select this option but I find that I keep having to kill the same apps over and over again. What's the point of Auto-Kill or what am I doing wrong? There are lots of programs (most I didn't even install) that run all the time and I'm having battery issues so I don't have battery to waste on programs I'm not using and will probably never use.

1. Scale the image so that it's just large enough to fill the the entire viewing area without any black borders, while still maintaining its aspect ratio. This might require clipping once the image is actually displayed, but that's OK (read on).
2. Then, center the image in the viewing area, both horizontally and vertically.
3. Finally, clip the image to the size of the viewing area, without any further rescaling.
I'm guessing that this kind of image processing is not automatically done via any of Android's facilities, and that I'll have to do it myself. If this is a correct assumption, could someone point me to some documentation or some examples which could explain how I can accomplish this? I'm guessing that I'll have to subclass my TextView and implement my own onDraw() method, but could someone confirm or deny that assumption?

Dec 9, 2009Are these the same? I have searched the forum, and can't seem to find the answer. I don't find any "auto brightness" setting in the settings menu on the Hero. I have auto backlight unchecked. What exactly does this do? Is this the screen dimming? Sorry, I am confused. Uh oh! Must be a senior moment!

HTC EVO 4G :: Touchscreen - Character Moves By Itself
Jul 8, 2010I come from the iphone scene and bought an evo. i got the emulators and while playing it i noticed that sometime it starts acting up and my character moves by itself when i hold 2 buttons together then let go of 1. is this just the way the touchscreen was designed? i know the iphone had some kind of multi touch they pattented so it took a while for other phones to come out with pinch ability on their touchscreens. iphone works perfectly for being on-screen buttons but on this phone i seriously cant even play cause the controls are so messed up. sometimes my character is like crouching repeadedly or running right , does anyone else have this problem or is it just my phone? specifically while playing snes emulator since there isnt many other apps that use more than 1 button at a time.

So 4 160 character messages are received by their Blackberries (several models) or Samsung (Slyde?) phones as 4 150 character messages and 4 10 character messages.Is there an app that lets you sent 150 or even 140 character messages? Handcent doesn't help with all the split options it has.I tried them all, but it splits at 160 so it doesn't matter.Is there any way to split messages at a lower character count?(All my friends also use Telus (and Kobo which is Telus). Does Telus have a 150 limit? Or is it their phones?I receive messages from them just fine, but that's probably because their phones only send 140 or 150 character messages.)
