View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Chinese clone of Galaxy S4 called No.1 S6 with MTK6589 Cpu and Android 4.2.1 (Odexed Rom), well, I tried to replace some system app like contacts, phone and mms with the same apps taken from the Slim bean 4.2.2 Rom for the Google Nexus 4 that has the same screen resolution.
I odexed the slim bean apks with dexopt-wrapper as explained here [URL] ...., I signed them with auto-sign software, so I put them into system/app folder with right permissions, deleting old apks first, rebooted the phone, wiped cache in recovery and when the phone booted the apk I replaced was gone, so I think there's a compatibility problem between my system apps and nexus 4 ported apps, maybe I have to take the slim bean (or other ROMS, whatever) sources and edit the apks and make them compatible with my phone...

I just received a notice from Verizonwireless that there is a new software update available. So I went ahead and downloaded the update and attempted to install it. After a few seconds a new window opened showing the stupid Android robot laying on its back and the word "error" displayed. Thinking something bogus is going on with my phone I did a factory erase and retried the software update - same results.
Any way to determine what the error is and correct it so I can do the SW update? Out of curiosity I tried using ClockworkMod Rom Manager to install a custom ROM but got the same error indication.
My phone is a Verizon Galaxy S4 with Andriod version 4.3. The baseband version is I545VRUEMK2.
So I just installed the a home update, it installs so i click on the home button, select to make a home my default home app and then I get a "force close" over and over. So i turn off my phone, turn it back on and now it wont go past the android screen(blinking android guy). WTF?! What are my options?
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo about a month ago I flashed the Google Play Edition ROM on my Verizon S4 and when I did I had no LTE. So I fiddled around with the radio and mobile setting for a while but every time I would change it to either LTE/CDMA/GSM or LTE/CDMA it would change back to GSM/CDMA. Eventually somehow I got it to connect to LTE then never touched it. But one day I had no service and couldn't figure out why until I checked the radio settings again and saw that it was connected to GSM/CDMA. I changed it back but to LTE/CDMA but when I exit out of the radio setting it just resets back to GSM/CDMA.

I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. I'm pretty sure, post Christmas, Droid updates and fixes will become non-existent as Google focuses on their own offering. Google is indeed Microsoft with a crayola logo.
View 38 Replies View RelatedI would like to install just Google Play (Market) without the other GApps. I tried a couple of APKs that I found floating around the forums, but none seem to work.
Are there some additional dependencies (like the Google account, for example) which I need to install in order to use Play? I am trying to avoid any Google synch and also don't need GMail, Talk, etc. Installing them just to remove them with Titanium or something seems counter-intuative.
Before that, I was on CM 10.2 and GAPPS that comes with it, I was able to use the market even though I uninstalled the Google services apk, everything worked just fine. Maps sometimes said somethin' like "best experience with google services", but it actually did work smoothy...
Now I installed CM11 with new GAPPS, and when I disable Google services, then Play store tells me that it can't run without it, and just closes without letting me download any app.
Is there any way do bypass this check ? I fight any app running as a service when it's not needed (battery life, data consumsion, privacy), that's why I don't want to have the Google services on my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the pirate bay app on my AT&T htc one running stock jellybean. I cam across an app called Google play modded. Which I thought meant I can go in and customize the Google play store and delete the bloatware that come with the phone, but I found out that It was something totally different. So I went to uninstall it from the app drawer and It deleted the whole Google play store. I downloaded and apk file from some website which fixed it. but after rebooting I got this error. I then went to titanium backup and wiped the data. It fixed the crashes but now I for some reason am running the modded Google play app again. I deleted Google play services and google play app. rebooted my phone. It removed the modded Google play store and fixed everything, but whenever I try downloading an app It breaks everything.
I'm running Jelly bean 4.2.2 on stock android. HTC one.
I have a problem after installing nexus Rom on my qmobile a10. Now my fone is no installing apps from google play and so i could not restore my stock ROM. Also this new Rom is supporint only one sim.

"Incompatible with other applications using the same shared user id." It comes with the Maps, too. I cant find a solution to the problem. There are some, but I dont want to flash another ROM. I have tried the play store it says that the app cannot be installed on the tablet. I have tried also the sideload one and putting the apt on the external sd card, and the app cannot be installed. everything works on this tablet except the google plus app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting an "insufficient storage" error on installing apps from Google Play (even small 6mb apps). I find if i delete several apps and run it again it works (there is apparently 470MB free despite this).
I've seen references to changing settings so that Google Play installs to the SD card but cant figure out which apply here. And also to clearing the cache for applications (in the TWRP app perhaps?).
I've run the jmz script from the Nabi 2 root thread, but I think I'm missing a step or two (although apps do in fact install, which they wouldn't before).
Is there any way to delete all CM's stuff(notification toggles) from rom to make pure AOSP?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got a Google Voice invite about a week ago, and while I mainly just wanted the voicemail perks, I went for the new number, just so I could have all the bells and whistles when I eventually need them.
In the meantime, however, rather than let the account sit idle, I really wanted to figure out how to use the Voice visual voicemail for my Verizon line. I was on an iPhone for almost two years--I'm never going to go without visual voicemail again. But I'm not paying Verizon for it, the third-party apps I've tried all had enough annoying traits to drive me away, and hot damn, inaccurate as it may be, I want voicemail transcription if only for the comedic benefits of reading the mad-lib transcriptions of friends' voicemails.
So, anyway, I finally stumbled across this post on the Google forums, giving a step-by-step procedure to redirect your missed/ignored/busy calls to your google voice account. (Basically, you make three calls using prefixes and your google voice number to set the redirects... the instructions also include all of the codes to undo all the redirects if/when you decide to go back to normal.) I tried it out, it took all 60 seconds to set up, and it works beautifully.
Depending on how your voice account is set up, you may need to adjust some settings (so you don't get an email, text, AND google voice notification every time you get a voicemail, which I quickly discovered was quite annoying).
Again, this only works if you have a Google Voice account, with a new number (but then, if you got GV for an existing number, you wouldn't have to go through all this).
Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running the original Motorola Droid with Android v2.2.I'm sure this has been brought up in the past, but I've searched and can't find any real good answers.I've had Google Voice for about a year now on my Droid.Here are some concerns I have:
1) It uses anytime minutes when someone is leaving a message.
2) Often it doesn't know when the caller has hung up and eats up additional minutes recording only silence.
3) With the in-call volume maxed out I can barely hear the voicemail through the handset speaker.
For a couple months last year I had Verizon Visual Voicemail and these were the concerns I had:
1) It costs $2.99/month (but doesn't use anytime minutes)
2) Like Google Voice, with the in-call volume maxed out I can barely hear the voicemail through the handset speaker.
3) Notification of voicemails was nowhere near as quick as regular voicemail or Google Voice.
My biggest question right now for both of them- Is there any way to get the in-call volume fixed when listening to messages? Anyone else having these issues?It's important for me that voicemail volume is good and notification is quick. I can't seem to find a visual voicemail option that hits all the nails on the head.
I was having some issues with Google Voice (people saying that they didn't always get my voicemail or sometimes it was some automated thing instead of my Google Voice message). I can't afford not getting my voice messages so I want to switch back. However, now whenever I get a voicemail it shows up in my notification bar and I click on the notification and it automatically calls a google voice number. However, when I enter my pin it says I have no messages. So I'm assuming they are on my Verizon Voicemail. But I can't get to them. I finally figured out that in settings you have to then go to the Call menu and change the Voicemail Service back to "My carrier" from Google Voice. But then the Voicemail Number stills shows as the google voice number.What is the number to change it to for Verizon Voicemail? Will that take care of it and allow me to check the 3 unheard messages and then get all of my messages from here on out?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
