I have installed PC Companion but every 2-3 days it announce me a new update for my phone X10mini.Is it possible to know which bugs are fixed in each update before proceeding ?Is there a way to save all data before upgrading and restore after upgrading ? (sms, sounds, accounts, software, note, alert, phonebook etc)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an X10 with Android 1.6. I've read about 2.2 and I get conflicting information. Some say it's out and it's great, some say it's not out yet.
Anyway, I would like to upgrade my phone, if not to 2.2 then at least 2.0 or 2.1. I'm not useless with computers and technology, but I'm no developer either. What is the method/steps to upgrade my phone? I'm on an Xperia X10.
I am trying to upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 i dismissed the message that come through on tool bar at the top of the screen as you needed to update via computer but when i connect it to the pc companion it says i have the the software is up to date but obviously it isnt as 2.1 is now out on the X10.
View 9 Replies View Relatedafter upgrading to 2.1 my x10's contact picture becomes very blurry.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy question is as above, since upgrading to 2.1 i can no longer send or receive MMS messages.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to face reboots when my X10 was still on 1.6, but I was ok with them since they happened on certain apps and not that frequent.
After upgrading to android 2.1, my phone never stops rebooting. The first reboot occurred when I was using Backup and Restore app to restore my contact, SMS .... I have not even downloaded or set up any application.
Then the reboot started to happen whenever I turn on my Wifi. Now whenever I am using my phone it reboots, during calls, searching contacts, installing and playing games. I tried re-installing Android 2.1 several times using PC companion and Sony Ericsson Update Service, but no use. Always the first reboot after a fresh install will be when I am restoring my data.
I like the phone and was waiting for android 2.1 since September, and this is what I get, a useless phone where I can barely place a call. I am really disappointed and frustrated.
Anybody facing such issues or know how to fix it or what is the reason behind the restarts?
Two days back I had upgraded my X10mini to andriod 2.1. 24 hours after upgrade the screen got freezed. Its showing FM screen and the restart button is also not working. If I press the power button, screen lights on for some time and goes off. I can't remove the battery as the battery is fixed. Please let me know if you know some other way to restart the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to synchronise my Sony Ericsson X10 with the sony ericsson website, and the instructions say: -
First, you need to select Sony Ericsson as the default sync service:From the Home screen, tap the applications bar.Tap Settings > Data synchronisation > Select sync applicationSelect Sony Ericsson
But when I do this there is no Sony Ericsson option.
I am planning to buy a 32 gb micro sdhc card for my Xperia X10.However, I have found tons of confusing and conflicting information here on SE forums and all over the net.To my surprise, even Sony Ericsson itself giving conflicting information regarding this.On the product page of Xperia X10 (click this link and click on the specifications), it says that Xperia X10 supports microSD up to 16GB only.Whereas the official Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 White paper (on page no.5) says that it supports -microSD, up to 32 GB. (The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 White paper can be downloaded from this link). Now i urge someone, preferably an SE moderator or staff, to enlighten on this matter and answer how and why SE is giving contradictory and confusing statements regarding the sd card capability and compatibility for the same product?.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
I saw that there are already a number of discussions about sony erricson synchronization but I cannot find one for this specific message: Synchronization failed. It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use my X10 to keep all of my contacts' postal addresses in instead of the tatty old address book I carry in my handbag(!) I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?

How to install CWM 6 in Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S ("LT18i") ....I have installed CWM 5 already but I am no able to flash custom rom like Jelly bean .... it getting error like ..
Opening update package...Installing update...
script aborted: assert failed: (Status 7) Installation aborted.... and Symlinking error.............
I have been reading up alot recently about rooting and flashing my phone (Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray) as currently my carrier (O2) is not releasing ICS for updates as they have not "tested" it sufficiently on my particular device (this was there explanation to me via email).
I have looked on the official sony ericsson website trying to find a way to update my phone and found that the method there required my phone to have "S-Off" but unfortunatly my phone is "S-On" (im assuming due to it being locked to O2 although it is a pay as you go model).
I have read conflicting opinions on whether you can root and flash your phone in my situation and was just wondering (before i tried anything at all) need to clarify if it would be possible to update my phone to ICS.
I'm just curious to know if its possible to upfrade my phone from 2.3.4 to 4.0? I have a Cricket ZTE Score, I know its not listed on here and neither is my carrier but it never hurts to try.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy X8 is continuously crashing *randomly*. I clocked it a few times and it ran from one hour to four or less than five minutes and restarts. I have FroyoBread on my X8.
Things I already did-
1.I thought it was a virus so uninstalled most apps and removed SD card. Using xRecovery I even deleted cache and local files (includeing data reset).
2.Got rid of FroyoBread and flashed X8 ROM back onto the device. Same problem.
3.Got rid of Memory Card.
4.Reflashed. Installed FroyoBread again. Checked settings. This time, it started crashing once I tried to connect to the Internet.
5.Checked the forums already, people have similar problems, but no solutions.
Note: My phone ISN'T getting stuck at the load screen.
My phone IS ROOTED.
I DID try UNROOTING. The problem still persists.
