Jelly Bean :: Sony Xperia Z / 4.3 - Viber And Skype
Apr 17, 2014Bought a Sony Xperia Z and had it unlocked because I'm going to immigrate to another country. I have a sim card that came from the country where came for and had it in roaming service. I am able to receive roaming messaging with no problems however I'm getting troubles using Skype & Viber:
1. Viber: I am able to send & receive messages but if I call somebody, during the call, all the buttons suddenly stops working and the only way that the conversation could be stop is if the other line hangs up on me.
2. Skype: everytime I do the video calling, the screen turns all black. The other line can see me and hear me clearly however I can't see her but I can hear her.

Sep 29, 2013I just bought my first android phone after years with Apple iphones. A sony Xperia Z1.
One of the biggest question I have right now is photo sync. My partner an I are using the same gmail ID on both devices and we use google+ to automatically upload our images.
we were wondering like with iCloud if it was possible to also automatically download images. For instant, if i happen to take a picture with my phone it uploads to google picassa, is there a way for my partners phone to automatically download this image to the phone? so both phones have identical photo albums ?
Jelly Bean :: Sony Xperia J - Viber Has Stopped Working
Sep 23, 2013I have a Sony Xperia J. Android version 4.1.2 with the latest version of Viber.
Viber has worked perfect since Easter until two weeks ago when it just gave up. I can no longer access Viber. On every attempt I get the message Viber has unfortunately stopped.
I have removed and reinstalled it but after a day or so it just gives up again. If somebody has sent me a message while the phone is in use I can reply directly on that single message as it appears on the screen. If I get several messages only one of the messages is accessible for a direct reply.

Nov 10, 2013I reset my phone (Sony Xperia P) to factory settings about an hour or three ago to clear up some of the junk that I'd accumulated, after restoring my contacts, messages , apps that I actually wanted etc; I'd noticed that despite still being on 4.1.2, there were a couple of things that were different about the phone.
The first one, is the menu that comes up when I drag from the left side of the screen, something which seems to bug out quite a lot, and generally seems a bit 'laggy' when ever I do use it, and sometimes after clicking an icon, nothing happens. The second, and probably more important thing, is the change of the 'swipe' lock screen I've noticed. Beforehand, when I pushed the unlock button, it would come up with the image I'd selected, and I could then swipe vertically to unlock it (with the picture opening like blinds from where I'd dragged). Now, upon unlocking, the default screen is my wallpaper with a circle encompassing a lock, which can be dragged left for a camera, right to unlock, or upwards to several icons to get to some apps (Chrome, Phone, the default e-mail, a magnifying glass (which leads to a 'This web page is not available' webpage on chrome, and Amazon MP3 - the latter of which I think is a bit random).
I can then swipe sideways to 'add widget' pages, or the other way to a 'social network in full' screen. I added a Skysports football widget, which appears in the middle of the screen, in front of a different colour screen each time (which can look a bit taccy), but can't seem to find how to remove it.
The 'social' page, although looking very aesthetically pleasing, doesn't seem to work. I'm logged into both Facebook and Twitter (however, not Instagram, as I don't use it), but it still says 'connect with' Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. When I try to log into Facebook, it comes up with a log in screen, which never actually logs in when I enter my details, and I haven't tried the Twitter/Instagram icons.
I imagine there are a few other things that I haven't noticed yet, as I haven't really messed about with it that much.
My questions are:
Can I remove the side-menu? Or perhaps make it less buggy? (the Facebook page takes me to a 'not available' page, which is quite annoying).
Can I change the lock screen back to the 'Swipe' I had before the reset?If not;
How do I remove widgets once added to the lock screen?
How do I get the social media page to work? That seems something that could be quite useful.

Nov 30, 2010I'm on 2.1 nordic on vodaphone uk. 3G was working fine using switch pro to turn it on and off, then I turn it on to download a MMS which it failed and now it won't turn on again! I've put it on airplane mode and changed between network modes that used to enable me to turn it on again in 1.6 but it won't do anything now. I tried turning on and off the arrows show for about 30 seconds then it stops. I had similar problems with 1.6 and that was the vodaphone 1.6 official version. Why is the X10 so crap with 3G?
I've tried numerous switchers on 1.6 and they all ended up stopping working after a while but I could always get it working again now it just failed. Is there anything I should be doing to get MMS to work properly and how do I get 3G back? Any settings I need to put into the APN settings even though it seems everything is filled in automatically by selecting vodaphone as my network. Is it a Android flaw in general or just the X10? I would be totally happy with this phone apart from this which I keep thinking has gone away then starts up again!

Here is what I do:
I select the app I want from Market and select 'Install'
Then I select 'ok'
Then a blue box reads 'Your item will be downloaded'
When I go into the Downloads section, the status bar isnt doing anything and it reads 'starting download' below it.
But nothing ever downloads or even partially downloads.
