View 2 RepliesWith 3 different devices, an lg thrill, a nexus 7, and a Samsung infuse, over 2 different routers, a netgear and a Linksys with dd-wrt And using 3 different apps, twonkyserver mobile, Imediashare, and playto. Using any combination of above, why why why do the servers keep disconnecting after 45 minutes or so?
I've tried the keep WiFi alive apps and they dont solve the problem.

After connecting my phone by USB to PC and transfering some files to SD card and then disconnecting, i'm getting error "Application not installed" on some apps installed on SD card (for example Adobe Reader, Temple Run 2). The only way i figured out to solve this problem is restarting my phone... I don't want to restart my phone nearly every day, just because i needed to connect by USB cable to transfer some files....

So every time my Galaxy S3 goes to the lock screen my bluetooth disconnects. I'm running stock rom 4.1.2

After 8 hours of flawless operation , the usb starting disconnecting and then reconnecting. The check box in the settings screen for USB tethering would uncheck. If you rechecked it it would connect then disconnect and uncheck the box. We moved from a front USB port on the Gateway to a rear USB port and that fixed that problem but after overnight, no WiFi access. Rebooting the computer fixed that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a problem with my T10. Whenever I'm doing something that uses WiFi, I keep getting D/C'd. Its not my router, because I have other tabs in the house which are fine. WiFi sleep policy is set to Always Keep On, and I've tried apps like WiFi Keeper and WiFi Static which don't work.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got the Motorola Spice two days ago, it's a decent phone...
The WiFi has been disconnecting every few minutes. I do not know why it's disconnecting so often.
So after flashing Cyanogen 10.2 on my galaxy S3 (which previously had 4.2 jellybean stock rom installed) I had no service and an unknown IMEI and basband. I went into root browser and replaced the current EFS folder with one I Had backed up a couple of days ago which was 100% working fine. after a quick restart the signal bar at the top has no signal for about 30 seconds then gets signal for 10 seconds. If I go into setting and phone status during the period of signal I have network 02-uk network type-hsdpa and my phone number stays unknown and my imei is being shown correctly during both signal periods.
I cannot find a similar issue anywhere else at all and as im fairly new to all this I'm completely stuck. I have a backup of my old rom (which wont flash due to status 7 error) I 'd rather keep this rom if possible though.
I can't access voicemail anymore. When I dial *86 it says invalid and when I try just 1 it asks for area code.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an app that was installed via Android Market. And so, the Android Market knows when new versions are out and notifies me of an update. Titanium Backup calls this the 'Market Link', not sure what else it could be called.
how would I go about 'disconnecting' the app from the Market? Deleting the market link as if it were side-loaded?
Yes, I know this means no more updates for the app etc. Which is actually what I'm after.
I'm using a SGS - DocRom V9.6 with Speedmod Kernel k13a
So I got my Evo replaced last Friday due to screen separation issues that led to touch screen issues. My old Evo had no issues staying connected to Gchat using the Talk app.
However, this Evo seems to keep disconnecting whenever my screen turns off, and even when i reconnect, it may take up to 15 minutes to recieve messages. I have played with some settings but nothing seems to make a difference. I know this is a know issue on a lot of Android devices, but it seems to be random. I have searched and searched, and found no solution to this issue.
My wife just got the Samsung Epic 4g.According the map for 4g coverage I live in a solid blue area (strong coverage)The 4g connection is constantly dropping in my house.Does anyone know what this issue is or of a fix?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am using easytether on one of my desktops at my house. Everything works great except that the connection keeps dropping. At first I thought it was because I did not have IE up (use internet connection wizard so other computer access the internet through this connection) but I noticed it still drops connection even when I was surfing with IE. Anyone else experience this? Is there a timeout issue? Should I get a keep alive program like with using a standard modem?
View 13 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I connect my phone through USB and put Mobile Broadband Connect On, my 3G connection does not work, not even on my cell. All apps requiring requiring 3G work wont' star
Here is how it happened. I was trying to use my incredible for tethering using Pdanet/Easytether on my Windows 7 Netbook. PDAnet worked in the best Lately due some reasons or HTC sync the modem drivers seem to be not found by PDanet , after many times sets of install and uninstalls of the different softwares, I got the idea to use the VZ broadband connect software to install drivers on my laptop. The drivers worked and so I did set up a a network connection (dialup like) and it seemed to connect but asking me to subscribe to VZ broadband connect.
Now when I ask my phone through USB and put Mobile Broadband on, i get a message of disconnecting mobile internet and the 3G on my cell does not work anymore.
My chat application connects to a server and information is sent/received by the user. When the connection changes, such as 3g->wifi, wifi->3g, losing a data connection, etc, the socket sometimes stays connected for ages before disconnecting. During this time, it's impossible to tell if the connection is still active, it seems as if messages are being sent just fine. Other times, when sending a message, it will throw an IO error and disconnect.
Apart from implementing code to detect connection changes and reconnecting appropriately, is it possible to have the socket immediately throw an IO exception when connectivity changes?
I'm connecting using the following code:.........
I'm not using setSoTimeout as data may not be transferred for long periods of time depending on the remote server's configuration.
i am new in the community and to Android too. I just got a Note 3 so I will be around a lot from now on. Here are my questions:
1) How i can get the most out of my ios backup in general, apps, contacts etc.In other words: How i transfer all my contacts from iOS to Android? Including picture, phones and emails info.
2)I have all my music organized in itunes, including album art, lyrics and selected songs to sync with my phone. Which is the best program to administrate my phone now and how i make sure all these organization does not get messed up?
3) Any other tips about switching from IOS to the latest Android are welcomed!I got this questions from another forum but the replies dint convinve me at all.
4) and which is the right way to update to kitkat without loosing all the note 3's feature like air gestures and s pen features and apps?
I recently rooted my s4 (I9500 international) and I installed cwm recovery. I went into recovery mode and selected backup to see what would happen. Then when I tried rebooting it, it just showed the 'Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500' logo and the screen went black. The same thing happens if I press the power button (no vibration). I kept it for charging but no light appears and nothing shows on the screen. I went into recovery mode and did a factory reset/ data wipe and tried rebooting but there was no change. I tried restore, but it says 'MD5 unmatched' or something like that (can't remember). Also, when I try rebooting from recovery mode, it shows an empty battery pic on the screen with a non moving circle in the middle.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have written a simple GPS status application (just for my own amusement) and was giving it a final run through when I can across a problem. When I took my phone down to the end of the garden I stopped getting location updates. When I re-connected the phone back onto the computer and examined LogCat I saw that the WiFi was disconnecting followed by libgps putting out PDSM_PD_EVENT_GPS_DONE and after that I got no more GPS updates. I then had a guess at the cause of the problem - in my Manifest I had requested the following permissions: android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION I removed android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, re-tested and my GPS app is now working fine. I only request location updates from the GPS provider by: locationManager.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, LOCATION_UPDATE_REFRESH, LOCATION_MIN_DISTANCE, this);
o does anyone know how android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION interact with each other when using the GPS? Phone is HTC Magic running 1.6 (not rooted).
Just got my Droid X and love it so far. However, I'm having an odd bluetooth issue. I paired my DX with my Jawbone Icon, and everything worked fine, at first. However, now it seems to disconnect the jawbone arbitrarily. Strangely, the blue bluetooth indicator at the top of the DX display stays lit as though it's connected, but the earpiece becomes unable to initiate or answer calls. To resurrect the earpiece I have to turn it off, wait for the bluetooth indicator to go white, and then turn my earpiece back on. At that point, it connects and works fine for a while until it happens again. I guess it's possible there's a problem with the earpiece, but it always worked fine with my iPhone 3G.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAre you switching from iOS to android or any other OS and having issue with iMessage? here is the fix.
Ok so i switch between iOS and android regularly and usually it is no problem with imessage but this last time was exceedingly difficult.
The obvious is to before you deactivate your iphone go into settings->messages and turn off iMessage. After this is off power cycle the phone so it forces it to reset and reconnect to the network. For some people this fix will be all you need and your messages will just go through as SMS, but not for everyone. One fix i read a lot on apple support boards and around here is to just have people delete your contact....Yea that is a major hassle reaching out to everyone you know with an iPhone and saying hey delete my contact and remake it please. That was a no go for me i even tried it and it did not work anyway. I heard some say to just give it time, tried that waited a week, still was not receiving a lot of messages and people reported it was still trying to go through as imessage.
What i found that worked and worked flawlessly because i tried it twice just to test it and because i like to switch often.
So here is what you do.
1.Turn off iMessage
2.Power Cycle your phone.
3. Call 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)
4.Request Technical support for iphone (sometimes you can say imessage it recognized it once for me but not again)
5. Tell the tech you want to de-register your phone number with iMessage (be insistent as they try to keep you just say you have tried everything else and you need your phone number to be de registered.)
6.Shut the phone off give it 1 minute and then turn it back on once it powers back up you are free to switch to android or windows phone and will get your messages.
The first few messages will take a little longer to come through for a day then it should be good. I have seen this method posted before online but most i read say to just deregister online and turn it off but i have found that does not always work. This is the certain way to remove your phone number from the servers.
I got my wife an S3 for Mother's day and tonight, sat down to transfer all of her data from her S2. I used the Smart Switch app and along with Contacts, pictures ect. I included her apps. Problem is not all of them switched over. I figured i'd just re-download them again from Google Play Store from the S3, however the apps "appear" to be installed. I've check to see if the missing apps were selected as hidden but there's nothing there. I'm unable to uninstall and reinstall again. Her Gmail app isn't even visible anywhere on the device....have I missed a step in doing the switch from S2 to S3? Should I be signing her out of Google Play on the S2, and how to go about signing out of Google Play Store.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy contract with Verizon is up in the middle of February and my wife and I are planning on getting new phones and possibly switching carries (possibly to T-Mobile). Based on what's currently available I think if we stay on Verizon we'll get two Moto Xs, but if we switch to T-Mobile we'll go with the Nexus 5. I try to stay up on tech news, but if any new phones are expected in February or early March I'd be interested in hearing about them. I don't want to wait too long because my iPhone is out of warranty and starting to slowly die (for instance the on/off button no longer works).

View 6 Replies View RelatedFrom the last 2 weeks i have been facing a weird problem with my A57. When ever i am trying to select Wifi, my mobile switch offs. I have to remove the battery and reinsert the battery then again switch on the phone.
It is working fine with DATA Mode, but the only problem is with the Wifi. I have done factory reset but no use.
When I click the option, i get the message "your current apps will become unavailable if you switch".
Will copying the contents of the SD over to the EMMC fix that problem?
Also, is it possible to leave some things installed on the SD? Even if I had to reinstall them. For example, games that take up a lot of space.
The reason I want to do this is because the EMMC is sitting there unused. So I'd like to keep my main apps there, and if possible, put games that take up a lot of space on the SD.
