I am stuck on trying to root my phone, i was following a guide from the xda forums, i put the .zip file in my sdcard and now i have to get into recovery mode.
There is no way i can start in recovery mode, i am using the home button + power, the phone starts normally with the Samsung Animation. I tried the + volume and power button too.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am selling my old galaxy s due to having a new phone and I have made it freeze when it boots.
It was flashed onto myICS when I was using it and before handing It over I wanted to wipe everything so it was clean for the new owner. I did this in the phone options and then also in recovery mode to make sure, but after rebooting it is just stuck at the galaxy s boot loader.
I tried flash another Rom onto it and the same thing happened even though odin said it was successful.
My phone is stuck on the recovery mode and it doesn't allow me to select anything. I have the i777 version from Att so it doesn't have that home button. download mode doesn't work and I tried many times. I have the CWM on version 4.0.0.2. Once I turn off the device and turn it back on, it goes straight to the same recovery mode.

By the way im using default recovery mode (not ROM manager of something).
My firmware version is 2.3.6.

My Galaxy gio is rooted and is with a clockworkmod recovery. Yesterday, I tried to flash a custom kernel. After flashing successfully (through cwm recovery), i reboot my phone and then it stuck at boot screen.I did many searches but cannot understand any.I can go into recovery and download mode which is i think so required by odin.I wonder if I can flash any stock rom again easily. Need zip file with which i can put in sd card and install zip through cwm recovery by which i can unbrick my phone. I tried wipe data and factory reset but nothing worked.

After unsuccessfully attempting to install a custom rom, I believe I have accidentally deleted the stock rom for the device..So now, whenever I turn the device on, it automatically brings me to CWM recovery. I have tried to install a different rom onto the device unsucessfully, giving me an error saying "format() expects 5 args, got 4" It also says (Status 7). I have also tried to connect my device to my computer and hook it up to Odin, but Odin does not recognize the device.

I have a T-679. it is only lightly modded. I still have stock UVLE1 with Clockworkmod recovery...v5.5 i think. All has been well until recently I have been trying out a lot of new apps. recently i got the adw launcher and camera sensor. now when i reboot i see one Samsung logo, then tmobile/android logo and jingle, then another Samsung logo and it hangs here. if i wait some time and start pushing buttons I see that the phone seems to be active. if i push the power button then the vol-up/down i hear the sound of the volume being adjusted. also very curiously i just found that if i hold down the home button and press the power button i hear a shutter sound!? In some instances, haven't figured out if its a particular button press of just random, i can get the lock screen to come up, which then allows me to unlock the phone and all works normally... until i reboot again.
edit: I just checked I have CWM recovery v5.5.04,b I have a backup from a while back and i just made another backup I also tryied wipe cache/dalvik which i thought it worked because i think it booted directly after that, but i just tryed again and this time i see no benefit/effect

I find lots of topics for this phone but none for this baseband. Also what would be the best flasing method? i seen this one [URL] ..... but i am open for opinions. Also will i lose any data on the phone (apps, games ect that are saved to phone). i know on the link above it says something about flashing with odin but i know it erases all data.
I have had my Galaxy S II for about a year now, and i am thinking about rooting it and installing Cyanogenmod on it, but i need some info about the proccess: First of all: What happens when you root your phone? Is you data/apps deleted or is it safe?
Second: What about when i flash Cyanogenmod? Is my data/apps safe there or do i need to redownload the apps and backup my stuff?
Third: If i root my phone and do not flash a new ROM, will it be just as hard for me to update the firmware as on a jailbroken iOS device?
And lastly: I have heard about Titanium Backup, what does it backup? The OS, the apps and/or the data? These are the questions i need answered before starting the rooting process.

I been trying to root it with Superoneclick and with DoomLord Zergrush, I keep failing all attempts, as I did research on this, I found out some info that says it is not possibe to root Gingerbread 2.3.6 (what I have) and that I need to dowgrade to 2.3.5 or to froyo (which is it?) , but SamMobile does not have Froyo available for download anymore...
So basically, I need to know how to root 2.3.6, main reason is I want to be able to change my Tab's HotSpot channel, and I read that this is only possible on a rooted GTab.
( Secondary question: On a quick note, is it possible to upgrade to HoneyComb/is it worth it?)

I left it all of today to see if it would get any better, but it didn't, so I took the battery out and put it back in. Now it keeps rebooting itself over and over again, and every time it boots to "Android System Recovery <3e>". I've tried a few of the options but nothing is working, it just keeps booting over and over again to that screen. How do I get it to boot to my actual phone, normally?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't had any screen issues in the past, but today my tablet randomly decided to go totally black on me. I looked online and some posts mentioned to check if the screen was actually off, or just stuck at 0% brightness. So I got a flashlight and it turned out that I could see the screen in the light of the flashlight, very faintly. I tried to manually change the brightness setting, but that didn't do anything. I tried to go into 'power saver settings', but the 'screen brightness' power saver setting is stuck on and won't uncheck. Restarting doesn't fix it. Plugging it in to the computer or an outlet doesn't fix it.
I haven't downloaded any applications that override the screen brightness.
I'm using the Galaxy Note 10.1 (not the 2014 version).
I got galaxy gio, which has Android 2.3.3, today at a worse moment of my life, I update my gio from Setting > About Phone > Update then it ask me for sign in, I login then it start updating after some time it says your phone is now restarting, then a 20 - 30 mints loading comleted and it stucks, then I restart it doesn't do anything, it only stucks at boot up screen, on that my screen just showing me Galaxy Gio S5660 and then nothing happened just stuck, I again restart but it stuck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had it first on the Galaxy S3 with 4.2.1 stock rom, I don't know if it might be an app that might be causing this, basically when i lock the phone the screen turns off but then when i press the power button or the home button to turn on the screen it does not do anything, I know the phone is still on because sometimes if i get a text message i can see the blue led blinking and it will continue to blink even when it's frozen.
The only way to bring it back is by holding the power and home button together in order to reset it.I tried factory reset and it would not work, I flashed the phone with a custom rom for Paranoid Android 4.3 and it worked great for about a week, no issues at all, but then it started freezing when locked again.

Having been really frustrated with the low volume on the device, I decided to try the method mentioned on this link - Download Fix for Google Galaxy Nexus I9250 Volume Issue - Android Advices (VolumeFix by MoDaCo)
After I applied the fix and rebooted, my phone got stuck at the Google screen. My phone was unlocked prior to applying this fix so I went ahead and installed the CWM recovery - despite that, I cannot go past the Google screen, I haven't been able to install the CWM-SuperSU on my phone yet because I cannot transfer it to my phone without having it connected as a USB storage device. I tried adb push CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip /sdcard/ but it says "device not found"
I have even downloaded the stock 4.2.1 ROM to flash my phone with it, but at this stage I cannot do anything. I have logged into recovery and have wiped cache/ partitions/ dalvik etc but still it doesn't work.
Samsung tab GT-P1000 is stuck, I tried the factory reboot, wipe data and reboot, nothing is working, is it a brick now?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Cyanogenmod 10.2 a few days ago, and has been working fine up until about an hour ago. My phone basically locked up while I was using Spotify, so I did a hard reboot, and got stuck in a boot loop. I tried to reboot a few times with the same results. I didnt have much on my phone, so I did the factory reset (using Teamwin recovery), but after that the phone was still stuck in the boot loop. After that, I tried the "Format Data" option.
After going through, It was still stuck in the boot loop. I've also tried to restore backups, but to no avail. I'm not super knowledgeable about the whole inner workings of rooting. I didn't want to do the advance wipe (includes internal storage, system, USB-OTG) for fear of really messing something up. If it completely restores to factory settings, i don't really care, I just dont want my phone to be completely unuseable.
