General :: Galaxy S Stuck In Bootloop?
Jun 17, 2012
I am selling my old galaxy s due to having a new phone and I have made it freeze when it boots.
It was flashed onto myICS when I was using it and before handing It over I wanted to wipe everything so it was clean for the new owner. I did this in the phone options and then also in recovery mode to make sure, but after rebooting it is just stuck at the galaxy s boot loader.
I tried flash another Rom onto it and the same thing happened even though odin said it was successful.

So my galaxy note 2 is continously bootlooping. As soon as I insert the battery into the phone, it shows the galaxy note 2 screen and a couple seconds later the same. I can't enter download mode because when I click the Volume+ button to enter it, it starts from the galaxy note 2 screen.
I had flashed cyanogen mod 11 to my phone a couple months back, but it was working fine. Today morning some water got on it, but I dried it of and it was working fine.

I have a rooted Xperia C. I tried to install Chainfire 3D without knowing that it's not compatible with jellybean devices.
now my phone is stuck at bootloop. it's stuck at the image after the xperia logo. I tried to go to recovery mode but I can't. Maybe because my phone is bootlocked.

I managed to root and install xrecovery on my x10 mini(elcair) with flashtool. Took the next step and tried to install CWM recovery, and use it to run miniCM6.After the white sony ericsson logo disappeared, the blue android with the spinning light appeared, but now it seems get stuck here.
I tried using PC companion to restore my phone, but when my phone go into flashmode, there's a windows pop-up saying the USB driver failed to install and USB device cannot be recognized. Tried using flashtool but it doesnt work either. When i tried charging the phone with the charger, the green LED light did not light up too. I was wondering whether its hardware or software problem.

I searched the forums, looked like everyone who had this problem rooted their phones and installed custom roms, however i did not tamper with the phone in anyway, no rooting or custom rom, just nothing, this is the 3rd time in 6 weeks i get stuck in an infinite restart loop, i did two factory resets and i can't just do another one.
So far i have tried:
1-installing an antivirus and scanning (nothing found)
2-restarting in safe mode, the phone continued to restart in safe mode
3-uninstalled new apps that i installed recently
there has to be a way!!

I am relatively new to Android and last night was my first experience with flashing custom ROMs. After a couple months of reading many different articles and threads on xda and other sites, I tried to make sense of what rooting and flashing meant and was all about. I successfully rooted my device and then last night I tried to unlock the bootloader which I think I did correctly. Then, I tried to install CWM on it which I think also worked. The problems started from then: Rebooting into recovery didn't work (it only gave me a black screen) and I tried to find some solutions online. There wasn't much luck but somehow after many attempts, I was able to boot into recovery. From there, I wiped my data and settings (It wasn't factory reset before), wiped the cache, and wiped the dalvik cache which went all well I think. Then, I tried installing the latest CM10 nightly for the L7 and midway through installation, the phone just rebooted itself. And now, it's stuck on bootloop. I tried many different things and even formatted the system which I think made it worse.
The Quick Details:
-LG P705G (Canada, Fido) was running stock ROM V10e i think
-was rooted
-i think bootloader was successfully unlocked
-stuck on bootloop
-formatted the system and now only LG logo appears when I boot (no CM logo)

I downloaded Ditto Note 3 for my note 2, and i flashed it. It didn't work so whatever. After reading on the thread a little longer, it said i needed to flash a kernel. So after flashing ditto note 3 and the kernel i rebooted my phone to see that it was stuck on the Note 2 logo. I thought it was all fine until i booted into recovery mode to find that cwm would make my phone restart. I have backups of cm11 and stock touchwiz, can i flash them with odin? Can I go into my storage and take them out?

I recently got a Huawei y220 and rooted it and enabled USB debugging, tweaked the SystemUI.apk and it all went good, I had no problem rebooting. I also changed my bootscren with BootScreen from the Play Store.
But today, my phone got stucked in bootloop, and i know why, I changed the /system/fonts permissions to 666, and also when I was trying to change the default font (DroidSans.tttf and DroidSansBold.ttf) copied a font file, so in that folder there was some permissions changed and an extra font. I had to to do something so i locked my phone. When I returned a couple of minutes later the phone was like off, so i removed the battery and rebooted it. It got stucked on my boot screen, and didn't showed me my ADW launcher.
I can't install CWM as there is no file for this model (because it's very new), I can't flash anything as far as I know. Tried downloading the official "upgrade" from Huawei, copied the file, but I can't seem to enter the "Software Upgrade Mode", (VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER KEY), I press those keys for about a minute and nothing happens.
I know my phone isn't fully bricked, for now, so, how can I change those file permissions through my PC or Linux? I can enter the bootloader screen.I also tried AromaFM, but i get a signature error.I've already wiped/factory reset and wiped cache.

My Huawei Ascend G700 that I just bought has gone into a bootloop. I have succesfully root the phone using Huwaei eroot software from as in the picture below but I havent flashed any custom ROM yet.
But then I want to install CWM recovery into the phone as it much feature rich that the stock e3 recovery. So I've downloaded the CWM recovery from the page in the picture below.
I used MobileUncle Tools to boot the CWM recovery & that's when the issue occured. It keep restarting after the Huawei logo. I cant even get into the recovery (by holding volume button up + power button). If I hold the volume down button + power button, a sentence " => FSATBOOT mode... " at the lower left corner of the screen will appear but the phone will reboot itself again & again.

I own a Blu Studio 5.5s and it is stuck on bootloop. I can not enable usb debugging, and recovery mode does not work for me. I accidentally deleted my "systems" file in my phone's hard drive. I went to a store, and they said I need to put a new update on my MicroSD card.

I froze some Google apps and did a factory reset without unfreezing them. I now get stuck in a boot loop every time I try to start the device. flashing system.img, boot.img, and recovery.img for this phone? I can't do it through the system recovery (power + vol down) because of signature verification. I can't do it through FTM (power + vol up) either. My Supreme is pretty much a brick right now. I only resort to this because I'm unable to rename the .bak to .apk through adb because of a read-only file system. The phone has no fastboot mode, either.

AOKP JB Milestone 1 on Galaxy S3
Build worked fine for a month or so. Then my battery died last week and upon reboot, it got stuck on Initiating Swagger screen. Tried wiping the cache, the dalvik cache and battery stats with no luck. Finally just factory reset and booted a new identical aokp download. A week went by and everything seemed peachy until the battery died again and I got the same problem.
I repeated the process again but really want to be sure this doesnt happen again.

Note 3 SM-N9006 stuck on bootloop and usb debugging disabled!!!
My Samsung note 3 Sm-N9006 was already rooted when I bought it, though it doesnt have CWM/TWRP and SuperSu. However, all rooted apps are working. So I really want to change the phone's font so I downloaded Font installer *root*, because no font style is available in the settings. However, after I installed a font from the app, it prompted me to reboot my system, I clicked it and when it boots, its already stuck on the samsung logo.
Whenever I use the button combination vol down + power + home, it just opens normally; when volume up + Volume down + power / Volume up + power + home / Volume up + power, this is what is shown,,,
Select boot mode:
[VOLUME_UP to select. VOLUME_DOWN is OK.]
[recovery mode]
[fastboot mode]
[normal mode]
volume up moves between these options, volume down doesn't do anything, nor power button neither home button
so i can't choose from them.

I got the phone from 3 UK on a contract in July, so phone's pretty new and not rooted or anything.
Yesterday the phone started turning itself off at random times quite a lot.
Battery could have been over 60%, at 30%, it was never with the same charge that it would happen, also never when doing the same thing on the phone.
Usually when it's about to turn itself off, I lose signal completely, then the screen just goes black.
When I try to turn it back on, it usually dies again at the 3 logo or even at the Samsung one and I have to try and turn it back on again. Sometimes I had to pull the battery out and connect it to the charger to make it boot up ok.
After a couple of times it did that, it started going into a bootloop when attempting to turn it back on again after the random shutdown. Phone wasn't hot either.
It had happened a few days before but just once not this many times in one single day.
I removed the microSD card, since it makes the phone think the device has been modified and won't let me update, but the microSD works fine in my old Samsung smartphone and even with that removed, phone still turned itself off and then went into a bootloop.
I think it might be the battery. Last time I was using the phone unplugged yesterday night, the battery went down to 33% charge in less than an hour and phone turned itself off. After managing to make it boot up again and connecting it to the charger, it was saying 60% charge. I doubt it could have gone up to 60% being plugged in just for a minute or so.
So, I can certainly take it back to the store and have them fix it or buy a new battery and see if it solves the problem.
Is it likely to be the battery that's malfunctioning?
Lots of people on the Internet seem to have this problem and a few mention a swollen battery. They replaced the battery and phone was fine after. Mine seems ok, but I can't be sure.
I don't understand why I seem to lose signal completely just before it switches itself off... it doesn't do it all the times, but a lot of the times yes.
I have other phones on 3 and they didn't lose signal completely and anyway in my house coverage has always been excellent.
I forgot to mention that once, while trying to restart the phone, I got this message, more or less: "Installing custom OS can damage your system or applications. Choose volume up to continue...". My phone's not rooted and I haven't installed any custom ROM!

My Galaxy S3
GT-I9300
Newest Firmware I9300XXUGNA5 / I9300DBTGNB1 (DBT)
16 GB
NOT rooted / original ROM and absolutely unmodified
is restarting all the time and so caught in a bootloop. Most of the time it restarts when reaching the PIN or Code screen, sometimes I mange to enter the code and can see the desktop for some seconds. Then it restarts, endlessly until I remove the battery. Most of the time it directly restarts in the bootlop when putting in the battery, but sometimes not and this way the recovery and download mode can be accessed.
I need my phone and some data on my phone so urgently (unfortunately some are directly on the phone).
What I tried:
- remove battery for hours
- load battery for a long time (over night)
- recovery mode -> delete cache
- starting with / without SIM
- starting with / without SD card
- managed to activate flight mode within seconds in loop
- used other battery
- flashed original firmware with Odin two times (4.3, I9300XXUGNA5)
But ... It restarts again and again. I really want to avoid a complete reset due to the fact that there is really important data on the phone and in addition some really unique photos. I don't think that there is a hardware defect since the hone sometimes starts untill it reaches the main screen.
Possible reason: I use "HD Widgets" and there are some widgets on the main screen. When I manage to see the main screen for some seconds I can see the widgets loading (emty spaces with progress bar). I use this app fore some time but maybe there was an udate causing problems. Maybe this app or others are the trigger.

I did a search and found no information on a similar situation. Here's what happened. I recently rooted via unrevoked 3.21, then flashed a stock rooted rom, by OMJ, his most recent ROM. I ran the phone for a day with that ROM and kernel that it came with, and everything was working good, battery life seemed good for the day. Well, I decided to flash the 4.19 netarchy kernel this evening, and after doing so, the phone got stuck in bootloop, and I had to do a battery pull. TO flash the kernel, I did this: flashed from clockwork recovery to RA 1.8. Wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, flashed kernel from SD card, rebooted phone. Then it was just stuck in bootloop, endlessly rebooting. I pulled battery after about 25 minutes, and rebooted into Recovery, which was RA at this point. I wiped all data, cache, davlik. flashed the OMJ ROM again, flashed the netarchy kernel, rebooted. same thing. Pulled battery again, rebooted to recovery, wiped data, cache, davlik. Flashed ROM, no Kernel this time. Booted fine. went into ROM manager, flashed back to clockwork. booted to recovery. wiped data, cache, davlik. restored nandroid backup from earlier today.....

I have a rooted galaxy S2 on stock with the SuperSU application. I updated the SuperSU application today and when I opened it, it advised me to update the binary. I selected the option to update the binary via CWM (as that's my recovery tool). My phone then tried to reboot but is now stuck on the splash screen, I have access to ODIN mode which currently says CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (1 counts) but no access to CWM.
I have a feeling I would need to flash the kernel but am not really sure what the best way to fix this is. If possible I would like to keep all my data intact.

I did something stupid and tried to put the Galaxy S status bar on the D2 without realizing it is for the X. Now it's stuck in an endless bootloop. What should I do? I was trying to do the D2 2.2 SBF but how do I connect since it keeps rebooting? EDIT: Found some info online during my panic. Allowed me to start the SBF, hopefully it works. "Power on holding the power key and the Up arrow key on the keyboard. After the M logo appears, release the two keys. That will put your Droid into the bootloader, then you can connect it to your PC via USB and use the SBF post to bring your phone back to normal."

I rooted my Galaxy Pocket lately and installed LCD modder just to try changing the dpi settings. i changed the stock 120 dpi to 160 and clicked save. the phone froze and i had to pull of the battery. after i restart all i get is a boot loop. i get 3 things
(1) s5300 logo
(2) animated samsung logo
(3) flashing samsung logo which appears just before the lock screen appears
( 1 and 2 vibrations during this) and then it loops all over again. as i understand the change i dpi is not supported for my device and it is not loading into the home screen. the solution seems to be editing the build.prop file to reassign the stock dpi value. but to access the file i have to get into adb mode and have the device available in the list. but since debugging mode was not selected before i essentially soft bricked my phone i am not able to access my device in adb mode. i am able to get into recovery mode tho.any way to edit the build.prop file from this situation??.....

I was trying deodexing manually and ran into big problems, now in bootloop. I want to just custom recovery restore to the deodexed ROM here (Droid X 2.2 Froyo Deodexed and Ready For Themes) but cannot because I get the following error every time I try to restore a backup from custom recovery: "e:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 device or resource busy.I think I found out that it is because this Koush recovery is the original 2.1 version, so I need the 2.2 one.Two things:-Where do I get this 2.2 newer version? His site doesn't mention it but maybe he just replaced the file download without mentioning? http://www.koushikdutta. com/2010/08/droid-x-recovery.html)-How can I install this newer recovery if I am stuck in bootloop?
