Im working on a video stream app with a friend and we are ironing out bits and bobs. Just wanted to when sharing a video link i.e. youtube, how include the title of the video, not just the link.

I'm using HTC desire, I'm sorry if I haven't searched the forum enough.I'm wondering if there is ever a way to post a link in Facebook like how you do it on the full web site- when you click on "What's on your mind" a drop down of several icon appears and when you choose the "link" icon you can paste the URL there.The problem is that without that interface the URL messes up with the actual message you wanted to post (most of the time to explain the link you are posting).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my Google account also setup on my wife's phone so we can share purchased apps. However, everything else is shared too. For example, even though I have sync for everything on my account turned off, my calendar still showed up on my wife's phone until I disabled it in the calendar app. Also, I can't remove my Google Talk account from her phone so my messages show up on her phone.
This is on a pair of stock Samsung Galaxy S3 phones.
I have a custom title bar that I would like to apply to all my activities. I have searched online and found a few ways of doing that however I have ran into a problem. It seems that despite the fact I have a TextView in my titlebar with id @android:id/title, Android will not use the value defined in the manifest in android:label for each activity. I tried also calling setTitle(R.string.myTitle) but it still will not render it! If I manually put some text in my TextView in the xml it shows up fine. How can I have a custom title bar that is linked and makes Android use my manifest values for labels? I do not want to lose the setTitle() or the XML attributes functionality.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm setting up an app to use a custom title so I can get the proper logo into the title instead of just text, and to make it clean (since the logo has a flat black background), I also want the whole title bar to be black. My xml for the title is a framelayout to hold the logo inside of a linearlayout to change the background color, and I'm setting the title in OnCreate() as follows:

With this setup, the old gray from the old title bar still exists around the edge of my custom title. Appears to be on the order of 3-4 px on the bottom and 8-10 px on each side. Any ideas about how to get the black background to cover the entire area?

However, I think it's an issue with Android itself, not the app. When I get an email from Facebook, and I click the link, my browser opens and takes to the Facebook page and asks me to log in. Why doesn't it open the link using my Facebook app? It doesn't even ask me which app to use, browser or Facebook (eg. if I have two different gallery apps, and I want to view a picture, it asks me which gallery app to use, and lets me set one as default at the same time). Is there any way to make Facebook links open the Facebook app, instead of launching the browser (or to have it ask me like it does with other apps)? The whole point of the Facebook app is so I don't need to use the browser to view Facebook.

I want to change it to blue like that of ICS.The above is the Dialog of the ICS Rom. Here, the text color of the Title of dialog is Blue. My framework-res.apk is from FroYo, so the Title text color of dialog is white there. This is thing I want to change.
I know that it's in values/styles.xml, but which style inside it?? I see "Theme.Dialog" inside it, there are the following lines:-Which thing under this I need to modify?? Is that @style/TextAppearance" or "@color/primary_text_dark/light", etc.
II have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. I'm mostly using it to do all my uni readings/annotations. When I clicked on a PDF on my university page, it downloaded & delivered itself to the download app.
Within the PDF are links to online journal articles that I need to access. However when I have the PDF opened (I was reading it in Kindle) I can't click on any of the links/hypertexts.
So I guess my questions are:
1. How do I get my links back to being clickable!
2. If this involves opening it in a different app, which ones is best?
3. Any other tips for a literally brand new android user...or links?
I have installed Locus and OruxMaps. Both apps use the same vector map format - mapsforge. I would like to share one map file for both programs. Is it possible?
I know Linux allows to use hard links, but I doubt it is possible with FAT32 (the SD card filesystem).

YouTube links will always open in browser rather than youtube app.
I have tried Boat Browser and Dolphin, and they both behave the same way. If I google search for a youtube video through one of those browsers, and I click the youtube link from the google results... it will go to the youtube mobile page within the browser (rather than open the youtube app and play the video).
How to force the youtube app to always play videos linked from browsers?
I had an mature app, eg. like - [URL] .... I then would it be allowed to have adds or links that would redirect the user to a site where same kind of app would be able to be downloaded but full nude? Didn't quite find exact answer from Google Playstore policy.

and the only way out is to either press the Okay button or force stop the browser.The browser it most recently happened with has been with Dolphin Mini browser - can't remember if it occurred through my Android's native Internet browser or not, either way it takes me to a site called Mobgifts(dot)org
I did some research and some said it was a virus, but I have Lookout installed on my device and scan it weekly and just did a scan yesterday - all was clean..

I have installed Dolphin and like it, and I've made it my default browser, which is great. However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get a google calendar invitation in the GMail app, but when I click on one of the yes/no/maybe links, it opens in the browser, not in my calendar app.
I immediately tried to clear defaults, but none existed on gmail, browser, chrome or calendar app. I tried disabling browser/chrome/ and bionic default calendar, and installed Google Calendar from play store....problem still happened.
(edit, of course browser/chrome didn't open when they were disabled, but I was surprised that Google Calendar also did not open). I'm rooted, but running regualar moto ics

So, I got this issue on my xperia sola. when I try to copy links from the url-bar, nothing happens. I tried opera, chrome, stock browser, dolphin.. and when I long press on the link of the webpage, no copy option pops up.. it works almost everywhere else.. i have stock ICS rom, and I can't remember, if I had this issue on GB. Normally if there is a link, in my case a podcast, and if you long press the link it pops up with a menu and one of the options is to "save link" which is basically the same as right clicking on a PC and saving the target as.

I tried with PlayerPro, but it doesnt post the album art. Only the title of the song is diaplayed when I share on Facebook.
I recently switched from iOS to Android (I have a Nexus 7 2013). I don't have a ton of photos but I want something similar to iTunes that will sync my photos on my PC with my tablet. I tried many options but eventually chose to install Picasa on my PC and sync my albums to web. Great, I thought, because now all my photos appear on my tablet and aren't taking up space on it. But now I'm having issues with the Facebook app. If I go into it and try to add a photo it only shows me my camera photos. If I go into the gallery app or Google+ Photos and try to share a photo, it gives me an error. It doesn't have this problem for any other app, I can easily add photos or share to Twitter or Instagram.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know why, but when I type something into the Google search widget, it will open up a browser, I think Google Now, and then when I click on a link, it will open the link in Chrome, but in Incognito mode! I don't know how to stop it from doing this, and just open links in regular Chrome.
Have tried closing Chrome + Incognito tabs, restarting device, uninstalling Chrome (which isn't possible).
