I have a HTC Magic (Rogers Canada). And, I see how the Dream (G1) rotates the home screen. can the Magic do that as well? Also, anybody know if it's possible to rotate the screen to the right and not just to the left? Shouldn't the acceleromater detect all the different rotated modes (even upside down?). that'd be cool
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created a layout with an image view and a web view. The web view is set to have a default visibility of gone. When the activity fires up it displays the image view first and when the web view has finished loading its url, it marks itself as visible and the imageview is marked as hidden.
When the imageview is shown, I would like it to rotate repeatedly just for a little added pizazz.
I have never done animations before in Android and all the posts I found when I asked the internet were not helpful; thus, I have returned to SO for help.
So if I start with this...final ImageView splash = (ImageView)findViewById(R.id.splash);
How do I create a repeated rotate animation and apply it to the ImageView?
I have implemented rotation of a custom view which runs perfectly on Emulator, but the screen goes blank without any error. When i disable the animation in code[commenting the lines] the view appears on device.
Please help me out. if there is any fox for this.
Does anyone know of an animation/method that can rotate an image around smoothly to face a point, such as where the user is touching?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy mobile's accelerator has stopped working, so turning on/off auto-rotate feature is of no use to me. Is there any application or widget that manually rotate screen or at least gallery so that I can view picture in landscape mode. Go Launcher Ex allows to rotate homescreen and app drawer but doesn't rotate any application. I just need an app to view pictures in landscape mode.

I've found a thread on it: [URL] .....
I've rebooted several times and tried both Nova Launcher and trebuchet.
is it possible to manually rotate the screen or fix the current screen orientation (with a key/button)? because it really annoys me having taken portrait pictures that cannot be viewed (with the media gallery application) in a portrait fashion on the milestone. this is because it always rotates the portrait picture back to landscape when rotating the milestone from landscape to portrait. right now there is no way of properly viewing portrait pictures on the milestone other than tilting your head (holding the milestone landscape and tilting your head along).this cannot be the way it was intended to be, right? or do I have to get a different viewing software which allows you to choose screen orientation? is there such an app?

View 1 Replies View RelatedCM7 unlock screen fade out animation?
I was using CM7 passion (nexus one) nightly #237 and I've learned that everytime I unlock my phone using CM7 lockscreen, it auto fades out into the homescreen.
But yesterday I was flashing to the latest update #253. I could not get back the little fade out animation after you unlock the CM7 lockscreen. Any trick to enable that?
I am a Sony Xperia neo V user that recently upgraded to ics stock rom. Just wanna ask how do people enable the crt tv effect like in nexus phones. I am a rooted user.

I'm trying to make my own boot animation (A simple android kitkat logo), but when I put it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and reboot the phone, it goes to black screen.
I followed the steps described in that guide and read that post, but they didn't share the solution and the mediafire link is dead. I'm attaching my current bootanimation.zip
Recently I flashed to this ROM [URL] .... from a stock ROM. Have done it a few times before and no problems have occurred. It's an MIUI rom and I decided to customize the theme a little. The themes section allows to change most of the detail ie fonts, status bar, home screen, lock screen, icons, boot animation.
And that's where it started, when I changed the boot animation, instead of using the default one. When I did a reboot after the switch, the usual boot logo was up, but then the screen turned pixelated like a CRT monitor/damaged LCD screen with colourful pixels. But then in boot into the new animation all fine, and has been ok since. The device boots fine, but I'm worried about that pixelated screen.
My friend had an HTC Desire HD and it impressed me so much i actually wanted to but it off him, even though its about 2x worse in specs than my current phone, but it has the most beautiful user interface i've ever seen.I'm talking about the HTC DHD weather unlock animation.I first noticed it when i asked the friend to make a call and upon unlocking the phone the screen froze over and it started to snow, it was pretty amazed by how good it looked, and how accurate it was since it was really snowing outside. Here it is. ( not my video, but exactly the same thing)

I think this is one of the best looking widgets/launchers i've ever seen, and i have a question, not as much as a request.I do know that this is "exclusive" to sense, most likely 3.0, but would it be theoretically possible to rip out the launcher/weather widget you saw in the video? I'm currently using a SONY Xperia GO , and i would like to port the needed things to it from sense (3.0?) to it. How do i do it? i've downloaded 20+ widgets/apps from the play store and didn't find anything ever NEAR as beautiful, or as functional. Most of the apps/widgets require you to click on the widget to see a weather animation, thats not what i want.
How do i port the sense (3.0?) launcher/weather widget? Is there an app that is as functional and looks similar?
I just bought the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and really like it. 1 wierd thing is that when I rotate the phone counter clockwise, the screen goes to landscape just fine; but when I rotate it clockwise it does not go to landscape "the other way". And, if I'm holding the phone 'normally' and rotate it 180 degrees ('upside down') it doesn't follow. My youngest daughter delights in telling me that her iPhone does this with no problem. What's up with that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to turn down the sensitivity for landscape rotation. Sometimes when I just sit my phone down on my desk, even if I only turn it a little bit, it goes landscape. It's kind of annoying because then when I pick it up, I have to turn it landscape and back to portrait so the accelerometer picks up that I'm turning it. It seems too sensitive at times.
View 8 Replies View Relatedhere is another 2.2 problem I am having, this one is kinda bothering me.I am using a program, need it to rotate horizontally, I turn the phone, nothing happens.I shake the phone, nothing.Shake it again, finally the screen rotates. If I start some apps with the phone upright, the app opens sideways.I turn the phone sideways, turn it back upright, nothing. It takes several tries before the screen rotates properly. Im sick of having to move the phone all over the place if I need it to rotate.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAs we know, we can rotate a bitmap through 2 ways. The 1st way is: Matrix mt = new Matrix(); mt. postRotate (degree);Bitmap bitmap = CreateBitmap(src, 0, 0, w, h, mt, true); canvs.drawBitmap(bitmap, 0, 0, paint); In this way, we always need create new bitmap for every rotation, it is not good way for high performance game or app.The 2nd way is: canvas.save(); canvas.rotate(degree); canvas.drawBitmap(bitmap, 0, 0, paint); canvas.restore();In this way, we avoid creating new bitmap frequently, but the rotation bitmap is distortion, the bitmap quality is worse than first way.So, Is there 3rd way to rotate bitmap with high performance and good quality? Your any comments are really appreciated!
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.
