Is there some way to force Google Maps to actually use Mock Locations?. I have mock locations turned on, on my phone and I use a seperate GPS receiver. It works in several maps, but the second I activate navigation for Google Maps I get an annoying popup telling me to activate GPS. I just want that popup to go away but cant.

I recentrly tested a few apps from the market changing the location using fake gps points. All of them work perfect but the locations sent via apps ( facebook for example) they show Bing maps not Google ones. I prefer gmaps because for my country they show every single street and building. Bing hasn't done that yet. What app works with google sources?

IE: when driving across the state I found some places where I wanted to stop on the return trip to take some pictures, so I wanted to mark the lat/long in gps so I could find it later.

I have created a mapview wich is working just fine, I also have a MyLocationOverlay to show my position and I have a ItemzedOverlay to show the locations to which I want to navigate. the problem is the creation of a route from the phones location to a predermined location.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do you set "home" and "work" locations in Google Now? I found an article online but it didn't have the same screens as I do. When I got my GNex, I set it up at work and somehow it thinks that is my "home." When I'm home, I get a Card that tells me the traffic and how many minutes it will take to get Home. I don't remember setting it up that way, I just took all the defaults.
I'm running JB. When I scroll up to get Google Now, I scroll to the bottom and press the 3 dots and select Settings. I press on Privacy and accounts, then on Manage Location History. Maps comes up briefly, but then the Settings menu overlays it. From the menu I select Location Settings. Enable location history is enabled. When I press Manage your places, I get a blank screen with a tiny message that says "No check-in places to manage."
I find that when I type in a location in the new Google calendar update, it only auto suggests contact addresses and recent locations. If I type in a business name, I don't see a list of addresses pop up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI love setting location based reminders in Google Now. I can set a reminder for when I get home or the next time I'm at the grocery store. But one thing I can't figure out is how to set a reminder for the next time I'm at a saved location in Google Now. For instance, Google Now knows I go to my parents so it saved the address in Google Now and I renamed it to "My Parents". But I can't set a reminder by saying "next time at I'm at My Parents, remind me...". Is this just a limitation or is there a way to do this?

How EXACTLY (and i mean step by step) do i set that up on the Droid 2 so its more accurate? We are always showing at different locations even when we are side by side! My phone shows me in the correct place but his shows him where he was a few hours ago and sometimes just shows a few miles away even when he wasnt there!

All my google applications like Gmail, Maps, Play,Google Plus are working fine in WIFI.But when i try to refresh or update these application thro Airtel 3g,i am getting No Connection Error.

I'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!
How do you get other friends to show up with their locations?

I want it to show a location that user selects from a list and show here the location is, then add a button on the map so that the user can navigate from there current location to the one selected. I have looked at tutorials but cannot find anything that does this. Anyone know where I might find a tutorial that shows this or how I can extend my simple map to show a given location.

Only had it running a couple of days, but very curious to see it mapping my location history. Has anyone tried the so called "routine" learning features, where it alerts you if a friend comes within range when your outside your routine locations? How long did it take to suss out your routine?
I love the idea of this thing coming onstream just as the festival season kicks off. "Navigate to Jennie" is going to a lot of fun in a big crowd! But then won't Latitude be constantly alerting me everyday of the festival? Could get annoying! But I love the idea of going out on a night and using latitude for everyone to meet up. The only snag is the map scales we have currently aren't detailed enough to make it really useful. But what other uses have people found for it? Another thing I don't understand is that Google My Tracks and Latitude seem to duplicate their functionality a bit - why do they overlap them? Latitude could really be a lot of fun. Or a lot of trouble. Any opinions?

Short of freezing and unfreezing maps, can it be stopped? I have autostarts and Gemini app manager both attempting to keep maps from running, and it has reduced it drastically. But it still starts.
How to remove these associations? I only want maps to run if I ask it to, never any other time.
A number of apps around at the moment will not run on my device as its rooted. When I start the app it comes up with 'Your phone is rooted and you cannot use this app on a rooted phone'
Is it possible to temperately mock my device to deem unrooted? or trick the app to make it think the phone is unrooted?

I've read online that Google maps has a feature that allows for automatic screen dimming when using Google maps. However, I can't find the setting. Has it been removed?
If it has been removed, is there an app that will do it?
How come the i/phone has Google maps that show traffic (red/orange/green) But on the Droid 4, the standard google maps app does not have this traffic (sigalert) capability? Is it restricted to iphones only? I believe it is the same Google Maps app.

In cache setting , current cache is shown as 0 B, while I have got 2 precached map areas.

this is an issue that I have always noticed but just decided now to create a thread for it as to a question of why Google Maps is running in the background and how can I make it stop? It takes about 5mb of RAM which I care about since I am using a very low memory device, The Motorola Droid 1.
