First it started not showing on the screen what I was typing when holding the phone horizontal. If I had it in the vertical position it would show the typed message. Took to Verizon while I was out of town. While the phone was on they took the battery out and then reinstalled. It worked fine. Upon returning home I noticed that the Weather app said my "current" was the town I had visited the weekend before. Tried everything but can't get it to acknowledge my present city. Now I go view my photos that I had taken and there are absollutely none there. I even assigned one to be my screensaver which is still showing as the screensaver however it is not in my Photos/Camera.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSometimes with my Eris when I try to type a text message or make a phone call, nothing shows up. I can press the letters and see the auto-correct as if its typing, but on the message bar, there are no words being typed. For making a call I can type in numbers, but when I press call, nothing happens, whenever this happens I have to wait a few minutes before it starts to register the typing again and sometimes i have to restart my phone all together. Is this happening to anybody else? And, if so, does anybody have a fix?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed that my contact icons in the messaging app have disappeared and just changed into the regular "no contact picture" icon. The contact pictures are still intact in my contacts and call log though. I tried handcent, but the pictures are missing there too.
Anyone have any ideas?
I downloaded Handcent and like it. I disabled the stock message app. Now when I get a new text message the same message is sent to me two times. I essentially get a duplicate of the same message. What should I do to stop this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI need help finding the right email app.The default one is horrible. The problem I am having is that it doesn't differentiate new emails from old. Every time I open the inbox in any of my email accounts, it always shows all emails as new. I don't know which one's I read or not. It's not bad if it takes me directly to the email, but when I have emails for multiple inboxes, I don't know which ones have the new email. I called tmobile tech support and was told that unless I delete the read emails from the server, the phone will keep reloading them as new. On my old phone, the messages I read where marked as read and stayed that way. When I got a new email, it was clear which one it was because it was highlighted.
Also, I've just switched to the g1 from a business phone, so I'm really new to this still. The couple things that I would like to figure out how to do is, first, I would like to know how I can search my contacts both by name or business. I've transfered the contact info from outlook to the g1 and so I have both name and business information. However, when I search using the keyboard, I can only search by name. If I put in the name of the company, it doesn't show up. Also, is it possible to have both shown. On my old phone when searched for either the person name or business name, the result showed both. For example, if I searched for lauren or Unico, it would show up as Lauren with Unico below it. Also, this way if I have more than one lauren, I can distinguish between them without having to click through each one.
Secondly, is it possible to set up "speed dial" function. Basically, if I pull up the dialer and press 2 for like 2 seconds it will. Third, I used to have my phone setup that I would have what ever my next appointment was, it would show on the home screen. Is that possible with this phone. Is it possible to allocate certain space on the home screen to preview upcoming appointments.
This has been going on for a week or two. GMail keeps loosing connection and I have messages in my outbox that still show sending. They haven't been sent. I checked my email account on the web.

When I click the Email icon and view both of these accounts, one account shows -1/1 messages and the other shows -1/25 messages. If I get on Yahoo and Gmail and check they show the correct amount. Yahoo has showed this for a few days, and Gmail just started today.Can anyone tell me what is wrong and why they show a negative amount of messages?

Basically when someone sends me a text message, I can see the first part of it on the screen that shows the various text conversations that I am having with people BUT when I click on that particular conversation, the text message isn't there. To give an example, my husband and I have been texting a lot tonight and I have the text conversation up to about 2 hours ago, but none of the messages since then are visible (although the first line of the last one he sent to me is visible on the main text message screen).

for example i have arranged the images as ...the second image inside the first image.... if i color the second image, the first image also gets colored...similarly if i color the first image , the second one also gets colored....the images are overlapped....

Whilst at work i want to hear my txt message sounds (alerts) but not my ringtone, and i want the phone to vibrate with both still. However when moving the ringtone and/or alert slider the other one moves too, they can't seem to move seperately. Am i doing something wrong or does this app not do that, and if so, is there an ap that does?

I decided to make a call to HTC (the number is on their page, if you go to Support and "Hotline" the number is there) to discuss a few of the hardware/software issues that I, as well as others on the board have been experiencing. First off, my wait time was about 3 minutes. Very short, so that was a good start. I spoke to a representative named Jonathan (a woman). The topics I asked about:
1. Why Gmail messages do not show up in the "People" application under the contact's card who sent the email.
2. Some questions that I had about managing memory and the best way to exit a program.
3. The clock widget displaying incorrect time, and the new issue that appeared with the clock today (possibly brought about by some DST error).
4. What happens when you "Clear Data" from the RAM using the "Manage Application" menu.
I began the conversation, which lasted about 40 minutes, asking about the Gmail issue (#1) as that was my biggest query, but added on the others as the conversation went on. She did not know exactly what I was talking about, as she hadn't heard that complaint before. Instead of just saying, "uhhhh, yea, I don't know what to say" or try to spout off some half-assed solution only to get me off the phone, she actually took the time to look in some of their documentation, and when coming up empty, grabbed a new phone, set it up and tried to replicate the issue. At no point in our conversation did she sound like she was saying stuff just to "get by" or end the call. She actually sounded as if she cared......
