I got my son a Karbonn A30 yesterday, and so far, the auto rotation as well as acceleration stopped working twice. I tried formatting cache but it did not work. the only workaroud is to open the phone, remove battery and restart again. I could not get any solution except the battery removal one.

As I understand it, there seems to have been a change in the OS that prevents the accelerometer from running when the screen turns off and the phone CPU goes into its power saving state.Can this be confirmed?I have gotten around this by using a wake lock, but this is a much less than ideal solution as it drains a lot of battery.If the accelerometer was disabled in low power mode to save the battery, it may very well have the opposite effect in many cases, such as mine.A partial wake lock seems to be required to keep it running, which is obviously much worse than if just the accelerometer were running without the need for the wake lock.Are there any other workarounds anyone knows of to getting accelerometer values while the phone is in low power mode?Also, are there any plans to change this in future versions of the OS?If there are no plans to change this, I would definitely like to petition for this to be changed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever possible I always use the landscape keyboard but have noticed that sometimes in messages (and web browser) that if I spot a mistake and use the trackpad or touch the screen to go back and correct whatever I type on the keyboard will not appear in the text. The keyboard still responds as you can see the popups for the keys when you press them but the text doe not go into the box. The only way I found to cure this is to close and reopen the keyboard and everything then starts working. I am running the recent OTA firmware update on a completely unrooted unbranded Desire.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAlmost every day when I wake up I check my phone and 9 times out of 10 the touch screen does not work. I cannot make a call or check anything. I have to push a lot of buttons and take out the battery and generally wait a while before my expensive phone to start to work. Is there a fix for this? I've already had to go to sprit to do a hard reset because the phone got, "kicked off the network" for some reason the sprint people could not explain. Any solution for the screen issue?

Camera is starting but not able to see any picture and also Gallery location in Camera app is not showing. When I capture any image, the screen goes to GREEN colour and it got hang.
I have two constant issues on my Epic-I've been ignoring them for a month but there must be a fix & I could really use your help! Also it would be good to hear from others who are seeing the same things so I know I am not completely insane...
1 - My screen brightness seems to adjust up on its own... To increase battery life I have it set all the way down...but, for example, as I was typing this post the brightness increased on its own... Any ideas?
2 - My voice recognition stops working all the time...not with one app either... Resetting my profile seems to fix it for about 5 minutes but it doesn't take long for it to go TU again
But now whenever I'm taking a call the touch screen stops working, so the only way for me to hang up is to take the battery out.Has anyone else had the same problem and is their anything I can do to fix this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Huawei u8600 sonic rooted and with Cyanogen 9 ROM for this phone. Everything is working fine, but I noticed that sometimes my phone just doesn't find SD card. After reboot it works fine again for a while, but after an hour or two it happens again. There is no message about SD card being removed or something, it just disappears. I have most of my apps moved to SD card, so this really annoys me, because without SD card I can't use most of my phone's programs.

The WiFi symbol in the status bar disappears and 3g starts working. When i disable and reenable wifi everything works fine again for 3 minutes. I already tried a static IP. Other devices (laptop) have no problems with the same network.

My task manager randomly stops working (press and hold home) at least once a day. I will get haptic feedback when the home button is long pressed but nothing will come up. Sometimes I'll long press the home button and the task manager will show up for a split second and then disappear. A restart usually fixes the problem but it's getting annoying as this happens a couple times a day.

However I found it would often not be active so today made a profile that will unlock my phone if my home wifi connection is found.
However this works one moment then not at all. It says no active profile despite wifi on and connected.
I have it so that if wifi near = home ssid then unlock phone, and wifi always on (never sleeps) but still nothing.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy III and have problems trying to view images in my gallery using the auto-rotate screen option and rather then having to manuallly press the rotate screen "icon" which does gets annoying. I just want to tilt my phone so the images can automatically change to portrait or landscape on its own depending what angle the phone tilts. I've ensure the auto-rotate screen is checked from Settings under Display and even tried unchecking it and checking it again as well as switching my phone on/off.
NOTE: That the auto-rotate screen option does work fine for me with everything else like watching videos, texting, internet browsing, music and even viewing the overall images in the gallery but when going in and viewing the pictures individually from either the Gallery or the Camera. All I've got is a rotate screen "icon" to press on manually each time I'd like the picture to be portrait and if I want landscape I have to press on the screen rotate icon again. I noticed the auto-rotate screen option doesn't work on my Home Screen and Lock Screen as well but that isn't the main issue.
I've been reading around and tried pulling out my battery on "Odin" mode, wait 30sec-1min then turn my phone on again and that didn't work. I've also did the same procedure and ensure I unchecked the auto-rotate screen option and checked it again after I turned on the phone. I tried the Gyroscope Caliberation option and calibrated it and that didn't work either. My sister has the same phone as me with the same version installed but she doesn't have this problem and I'm wondering if it's something to do with how my phone software's set up?
I tried to install ics on an Thinkpad x61 of my possession. Everything it's amazing, but one thing: screen auto rotation. is there ANY way to prevent ANY app to rotate the screen for whatever reason and fix it in landscape mode?

When streaming from Grooveshark in a web-browser, the audio-streaming stops (after finishing current song) when the screen shuts/locks. I have tried several browsers with the same result.
Audio-streaming from audio-specific apps (i.e. TuneIn) works just fine.
Someone mentioned somewhere that it has to do with the browsers not being set to over-ride the screen-lock.
I'm writing an app part of whose functionality is to record audio through the microphone. The recording seems to stop as soon as the screen times out and the phone enters what I think is sleep mode. I've noticed that some apps(Tokasiki's Voice Recorder, for one) don't seem to have this problem on this phone(Motorola Atrix) and continue to record audio long after the screen has faded to black. I've tried using a partial wake lock but it doesn't seem to maintain the recording. Should I use AudioRecord instead of MediaRecorder? Voice Recorder seems to get by without using AudioRecord.
