View 1 RepliesNew to rooting etc. Have ordered a Jiayu G3S MTK6589T 1.5Ghz phone and wanted to get the phone rooted and CWM installed so I can back up the existing ROM and try some new ones out.
Have seen guides for the G3 with the older 1.2Ghz CPU and also some other phones with the MTK6589T CPU but was unsure if these would work or brick my phone etc.
G3S or has rooted one and got CWM installed successfully. I usually go for CyanogenMod or a simple stock ROM

My question is: where this serial number comes from? Does it burned on flash of device one time during a manufectoring or adb drivers assignees it dynamically or it comes with release that is burned on device?
I would like to be able to generate unique serial numbers for each Android device for use in unlocking an application. How could I do this? EDIT: The reason is I want to revamp a paid application and provide users who have paid for the old version, which will have a different package name, a way to obtain the full version by downloading an unlikable free version of the application. I would push an update to the old version that would generate and display the code that they could enter to turn the Free version into a fully functional version.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is one of the first problems I encountered when I used HTC Sense to Sync my contacts with facebook. This is what it was like before I synced with facebook.
E.g.
Georgia Bowman
Call mobile.
07xxxxxxxxx
Send message.
07xxxxxxxxx
After Syncing, there DP is up, aswell as email address etc. It also changed the number to
44xxxxxxxxxx
I've found a solution. Go to a contact with the 44xxxxxxxxxx number. Ensure the contact is still linked to facebook
Menu > Edit
This brings up the Edit screen
Scroll down, Then add.
On the Drop down, select Phone > Work
Now, providing you only had one number for that person, you should have two fields. One called Mobile with their number this format 07xxxxxxxxx. (If its in the +44xxxxxxxxx format, then change it to the 07xxxxxxxxx format)
Press on the top field (the original one), then copy all.
Select the field called work, then press on the field, hold, and paste.
Now press Menu > Save.
Now press and HOLD the field called Call work, and set this as your primary number.
Once primary number is on the field called call work, you can now go to Menu > Edit.
Now delete the Field labeled Mobile
Go to the field called work, then change the label to Mobile.
Menu > Save.
This will now stay as your contacts primary number.
E.g.
Georgia Bowman
Call mobile.
07xxxxxxxxx
Send message.
07xxxxxxxxx
Instead of having 44xxxxxxxxx
Ive looked all through Desire threads and cant find anyone thats had this problem yet so lucky me i guess!
Whenever i sync a contact to Facebook, for some odd reason it changes the number for that contact. The number i have for the contact matches that of the number on their Facebook account.
I.E. 07890123456 on my phone, 07890123456 on their Facebook account( fake number, don't be silly ).
However, as soon as i sync the account to my contact on my Desire, the number changes to 447890123456.
try to call the contact and says numbers wrong, clearly because its suppose to be +44, not just 44.
have tried to edit number but still says 07890123456, and still wont work when i change it to +447890123456.
Anyone able to help?
First off thanks for all the great info. I have been lurking for a while and couldn't have rooted without your guys After I rooted my Eris (Now running Non sensible 13.2 after trying tazz froyo and a few others) I now have problems with my touch screen, especially on the upper right side quadrant. Just curious if anyone has any solutions or has experienced the same type of problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I find the serial number on my epic 4g? (it's a Sprint, Samsung Galaxy S, Epic 4G). The user guide says "the serial number is located on a nameplate inside the battery compartment". There's nothing under the compartment lid, but under the battery there is a "sticker" with many numbers but none of them say "serial number". The numbers I found under the battery and on the box are called "RS-SCK", "RS-KOI", "RS", "MEID - Hex", and "MEID - DEC". Are one of these the actual serial number?I purchased this 4 days ago direct from the Sprint store. All I want to do is get the serial number recorded for my records.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had the phone for 2 months without any issues (other than the crappy GPS and compass) and about a week ago, all of a sudden it started to randomly turn itself off. At about the same time it completely destroyed the SD card, after warning me a few times that it was 'unexpectedly removed' which always fixed itself on its own within a few minutes - anyway, gutted about losing all my precious data but I suppose it's otherwise unrelated, the new card runs OK so far.
The shutdowns occur on average 3 times a day and the phone can't be turned on without removing the battery, which is the biggest annoyance. Running stock G4W 20130819-085550 (upgraded from previous version but not sure what that was) but even tried MIUI 3.11.16 by sta-s2z - same problem. Bought it from uredeal.com which appears to be down so can't even ask about warranty. Not aware of installing anything that could be the cause.
Some logs from CatLog are attached, surprised by the huge number of errors, some fatal in case of the 2nd and 3rd log but they don't seem to be the same cause (?) also suppose the 1st log might not have any fatal errors only cos I had the write period set too long, then reduced it to 5 lines.
I was customizing my phone with Launcherpro, i changed the number of colums on my homescreen, and now the phone just keeps forcing close of launcherpro. I cant get past it, reset the phone and it came back right away! I hope this thing isnt bricked! Battery is sitting next to the phone for the next 15 minutes, crossing my fingers!

I have a Jiayu G3 that won't boot in Android and apparently not in CWM either. I kinda did a lot of "upgrades", here it goes (I just wanted to upgrade it to Jelly Bean).
I originally had 4.0.3 (stock/unrooted) then I rooted it using Binr4y's root method. Then I "installed Jelly Bean" from this video and then it started a boot loop then went on and on so I tried another rom and found this one RAW MOD B3, this one didn't worked either still looped on and on, so I tried finding a fix and came up with this Lewa Recovery 2.0 for JIAYU G3 so I flashed Lewa Recovery image with CWM and now to my surprise I can't even boot to CWM anymore.
I also installed before the Lewa Recovery Flash, White Google Logo.
So now my situation is kinda like this:
- I should have RAW MOD B3.
- I can't boot into Android it loops on and on at the logo.
- I can't boot into CWM either it also loops on and on.
- I don't really know how to boot into TWRP or Lewa.
How get to phone Jiayu G3 load another language (Czech), or knows a link to another rom.
