General :: Install Android 3.X On ZIIO 7
Mar 13, 2012I've been wondering if there's a possibility to upgrade my Ziio7 tablet to Android 3.2. Yesterday I managed to root it successfully but a vision of newer OS is so nice.

View 2 RepliesFollowed the instructions in http://developer.android.com/sdk/adding-components.html for adding 2.0 as components to an existing 1.6 SDK, from within Eclipse.
It didn't work. Not by a long shot. Instead, it got partway through and then said that C:android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1 tempDocPackage.new01 couldn't be copied because of a lock, and similarly for PlatformPackage.new01.
It said to shut down running programs, but the only program running was Eclipse, which was needed to do the upgrade.
The cancel button was disabled, and the close box didn't work. Shutting down Eclipse killed it, but left C:android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1 in a corrupted state. Restarting Eclipse showed the Android projects with errors, no SDK, and a disabled Android SDK and AVD Manager (which means no ability to rerun the install).
Shutting down Eclipse, renaming the corrupted SDK directory, unzipping 1.6 again into C:, and restarting Eclipse made it as if nothing had ever happened, which is good. But it is not possible to complete the install from Eclipse, which is bad.
The dialog says:
CODE:..............
When I run my application on a physical phone from within Eclipse, my Google MapView works perfectly. If export the app to an apk file and install it to the same phone from the command line with adb then the MapView comes up but shows only the Google logo and grid - no map tiles appear. I'm using a debug application key and a GMaps API key generated with that debug key. I've verified that this happens on both the Droid and N1 phones. The logcat looks identical in both the working and non-working cases - no obvious error messages.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYes we have threads about this already but we still have not gotten an answer AND I think it's about time somebody at least explain what does this number actually MEAN. I'm getting frustrated with the lack of transparency on this.
My apps used to be around 56% active installs
VERY soon after I updated the apps to allow install to SDCARD (preferExternal), then the active install count started dropping like a rock. Now it's around 39% today for my main app.
My opinion is there is a bug in the SDCARD install feature somewhere that is not counting those installs. We know there already is a bug with home screen icons if you install to sdcard you will get a blank icon until the Home app restarts.
Anybody knows the install command to install an apk in system/app directory .

Installing the Carbon ROM Android 4.3. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and i've downloaded the zip file needed from (AT&T) I've put it onto my sd card and i followed these steps
Step 1: Wipe Date/ Factory reset
Step 2: Wipe Cache partition
Step 3: Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache
IMPORTANT ONE!!
Step 4: Mounts and Storage > Mount /system > Format /system
Step 5: Mounts and Storage > Mount /system (yes again to make sure its mounted, do NOT click UNMOUNT /system
Step 6: Install carbon rom, followed by the gapps, and all should be working swell. This is what I did to get a first time install working.
But i do have a problem with step(s) 4/5. when i do it, it the screen just does a quick flash, so i'm not 100% sure of it did it's job. so after that i continued on installing with the 6th step, and it does a 2sec start and tells me that it had failed. So I just restart my phone since i cant do anything else and I'm still stuck. BTW my phone is rooted.
I have been trying to find step by step instructions on how to install stock android on my AT&T S4 for the past 30 min...but its complicated. Is there a way a person can install stock android, like installing Windows on a PC?
View 2 Replies View Relatedrecently bought a car in CHINA and it came with a Android powered dvd/navigation/fm/player/etc. I have it already connected to a Mobile WiFi over the China Mobile via a USB WiFi Dongle and downloaded some apps. Some apps I use are blocked in china (TuneIn Radio, Pandora, etc), and i'm looking for a way to have a VPN on it.
The thing is that the manufacturer of the device removed the VPN network settings, so I can't connect (or it is absent on the Android 2.3.4 ). is there a way to install some kind of VPN Client on this android? I already have a paid VPN Account and use on my apple devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI Have a Nexus 7 and recently I found that I needed to use ADB for something and I had used my Nexus 7 with ADB on this computer before (thats how I installed KitKat) but whenever I connect my Nexus now it says that is not configured correctly and when I attempted to install the ADB driver it said windows encountered an error. I am currently running windows with Driver verification disabled and on test mode. I am also running windows in test mode so that it wouldn't block the driver. I have tried every driver possible from the one in the SDK to the intel android adb driver and even PDAnet. I have checked inside the driver file that it is properly registered for my nexus 7. I am running Windows 8.1 on my computer and android 4.4.2 kitkat on my Nexus 7.
