today I found out that one can set a custom vibration pattern in the SMS Settings.Clicking that option brings up a line with "0,1200" written on it. I tried to edit it to "0,1200,1,700" and also to "0,500,0,300,0700" but it did not change the pattern at all - in both cases it just staid a long single vibration.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using LectureNotes for... everything ^^ but lately I can't get any custom pattern to display within the app. The pattern is still here when I export to pdf, but not in the pattern preview, nor in the notebook itself.
The custom patterns I used before don't display anymore, when I "run" the compiler, I get a blank page, no matter what I do. The templates also get displayed as blank paper (but export properly to pdf)...
My Galaxy Note 8010 is rooted but has been for a while, and the pattern still worked after rooting the device. I would say the patterns stopped displaying beginning of April. At least I remember using them successfully until then.
I'm searching for an app (or hack, or whatever) which allows me to do custom actions when there are too many incorrect unlocking attempts. For example, when 5 incorrect patterns are entered, get the location and send it to a remote web server. In my case, I would like to start Cerberus tracking, but that's not the main point.
Is there an app, or custom lock screen, or any security app that allows me to do this?
After TWO hard resets I cannot get my Evo to vibrate in any way shape or form. It vibrates upon hitting the power button on initial boot up and that is all. It won't on notifications, haptic feedback, ringing, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk all of a sudden, my phone will not vibrate for messages anymore. Even if I put the sound profile to vibrate, it will not. Anyone experienced this or is there some type of setting that can tweak this?
It all of a sudden started doing this like an hour ago. It will play a notification sound if I want it to but will not vibrate, which is how i like to receive my texts. I have the option checked for phone to vibrate when messages are received and nothing at all.
I turned off the haptic feedback and then later, i realized the 4 menu buttons stopped working too. Then I realized vibrate doesn't work at all! And i also tried a hard reset too. Im guessing its a hardware fault?

I am just wondering if there is any place to look internally in Android and make changes to this. Like some configuration/framework file that will play specific ringtones assigned to them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to create a simple bootanimation for my HTC Desire. I found a couple of websites explaining pretty much everything from folder structure to the contents of desc.txt, so I started playing around a little bit.
However after pushing my first customized bootanimation to the phone, all I get is a black screen after the initial HTC logo.
I already tried using desc.txt files from different bootanimations that I found on the web. I even extracted and re-zipped a downloaded bootanimation so I could see if that could possibly be the problem. But none could solve my black screen.
At least I think I have narrowed down the problem to the png files I use. My last guess is, that I save those files using the wrong settings.
I use Photoshop CS 5 using the following workflow:
First I create the frames that I want in my animation (just like build a GIF file). The I opened File-->Export-->Render Video. Then I select "Image Sequence", choose PNG, disable interlacing in the settings and finally choose a 480x800 resolution. Alpha channel is set to "None".
After that I use IrfanView to change the image color depth to 24bit and save the files in the part0 folder. None of my files is bigger than 30 KB.
My folder structure looks like this:
part0
-----00001.png
-----00002.png
....
-----00027.png
My desc.txt looks like this:
480 800 30
p 0 0 part0
After zipping the folders and the desc.txt without compression, I push the files to my phone. But when I try to watch it, all I get is a black screen.
I attached my bootanimation.zip. When I download bootanimations from the web, it works just fine.
I searched for A369 Custom roms but I couldn't find any but I found many custom roms for A390.
My question is 1. Can I use A390 Custom ROM for my A369 device ? The difference between these two devices are Processors,GPU and Camera MP.
i got a fascinate like 2 days ago and i set a patter lock to it, i know this very well, its very simple but i was procratinating from my homework earlier and kept entering different patters because i hate homework and i have add. Anyways i did this to the point where it required a google id login. So i sigh and attempt to login, does not work, i try 10 more times before i find out that this is an ongoing android problem. I do a hard reset, still doesnt work. Now 5 hours later im pissed beyond belief wondering why google put so much effort into a dumb pattern lock and why it still does not work after a full restore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5. If I choose a custom notification sound in hangouts, for example, that is an .mp3 file, I would get the word "Silent" underneath the sound setting. The same goes for ringtones, but the word that shows underneath Phone ringtone in settings would be "None". I've tried putting the file under the Ringtone folder and it still wouldn't work. How do I get custom sounds to work on KitKat/Nexus 5? It can be set all the way up and nothing would happen.

I have my default ring tone set. I then went under contacts and set certain ring tones for my wife, family etc... I had my wife call me and it rings with the default ring tone. I have tried everything and nothing seems to change. Anyone that calls that I have a preset ring tone for, it just uses the default for the phone.

I plugged in my phone and didn't even get the notification from Windows that a USB device was plugged in.I unplugged the phone and plugged it back in, this time watching the phone. A very quick message popped up on the phone that said"PC connection available only in idle screen.Close running applications."I checked TasKiller and there wasn't anything running.I scratched my head for a minute and then on a hunch used Home Switcher to change my default and running home screen to TouchWiz. I plugged/unplugged my phone and it worked! It said "MTP application", gave the USB symbol and connected.I then switched my home screen/Launcher to LauncherPro and tried it. It failed like ADW did with the same error! I'm not sure what gives there, but it's something you may want to investigate if you're having trouble using an MTP application like Samsung Kies.

It seems that despite the fact I have a TextView in my titlebar with id @android:/title, Android will not use the value defined in the manifest in android:label for each activity.
I tried also calling setTitle(R.string.myTitle) but it still will not render it! If I manually put some text in my TextView in the xml it shows up fine. How can I have a custom title bar that is linked and makes Android use my manifest values for labels? I do not want to lose the setTitle() or the XML attributes functionality.
I've heard Skype is a little picky about which phones it works on, and I've noticed when doing a regular Astro backup of my apps that Skype is listed as being 'protected.' Does skype have any trouble running on custom ROMs?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI made an account just for this as I can't figure out how to get around having only "Vibrate always, never or only in silent or not in silent" when I go to sleep, there is no easy way to turn the vibration off. It used to be with phones you could use the volume rocker to bringer down to vibrate... then one level down to completely silent except for alarms.
On this phone, if I want the phone on full silent without vibration, I cant easily switch to vibration with no sounds. It's either vibrate in silent, or vibrate with a ringer, no alternative.
