General :: How To Completely Erase Reset Phone
Aug 2, 2013I wanted to create a new account on a game but the game keep remembering me so I can't create a new account.
Basically I been playing Valkyrie Crusade and I want to start all over. When I install/reinstall the game, it auto logs in with my account. Even when I did factory reset(erase data on SD card also) on my phone, it still auto logs in with my account so I can't create a new account. I factory reset, download game from app store, install app and game still recognize this phone's account.
So yeah, just wondering if there's a way to completely resets it.

Jan 4, 2010Is there a way for me to completely reset the phone to make it seem i never had root? or like if i just bought it brand new? im not talking about the wipe in the recovery menu. I need a different way.Story: I was switching roms & i by mistake pressed Wipe battery informations or something like that, (using Amon Ra 1.5.2 recovery) The phone got messed up & i put the Dreaimg.nbh in the boot thing, & reset the phone.. i dont have root anyymore but when i go into recovery (non-root recovery, just plain with the exclamation on top of a phone) it says on the bottom of it : "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command"I'm sure that is messing with everything, since it wont let me root my phone once more.. Do i need to unroot my phone just in case?

Dec 9, 2009I just got my phone yesterday and spent all night downloading apps and customizing it. Today, I was showing it to some people then put it my pocket (might not have locked it first). Next thing I know, it starts to beep and I look at it and it's back to the HTC start screen and loads up and asks me to go through the same initial steps I had gone through to activate the phone. I did all this and then it started up and all my apps and customization were gone. I assume they're lost now but does anybody know how that happened so I can avoid that happening again?

Dec 13, 2013So a while back, I used adb to put android 4.4 kitkat onto my Nexus 4 (unrooted) for the first time. Normally I would wait for OTA updates but not in this case. So, when I did that the google play store wasn't working. I was annoyed, and went to loads of forums and every time I posted a thread I would get no response. Google customer support's only advice was to factory reset. So I waited a few weeks until recently when the 4.4.2 update came out, so I tried installing it and there was an error. After even more posting to forums, and still no responses (strangely they were all active forums) I just now had to do a factory reset. However, I can't sign into google (it says that there was a problem communicating with Google servers and to try again later, and when I press next the message repeats infinitely until I press the home button.) and also my google play services are apparently incompatible with my device?

Mar 10, 2013My Galaxy Nexus died after only a year. It had gotten to where the phone portion stopped working completely and data rarely worked even though I am in a 4G hot spot. I went in yesterday to pay full price for a phone and the rep offered me a new phone for the regular upgrade price. After an hour I walked out with a new Droid DNA and could not be happier.
Yes, I had to give up unlimited data but the most we have ever used is 3.5 GB per month and they gave us 4 along with unlimited minutes and texting which my wife needs. I could not be happier at the moment.

I had a problem with my phone that it couldn't charge when it was turned on, and I found out that it was the socket's problem. I got it fixed. But during this time, I had to use a very old Nokia as an alarm. Is there any way to make the alarm ring even when the phone is off?
I read a few similar threads, and some said no. But aren't there apps that schedule automatic power on and off? Some phones actually have this built-in. Is there an alarm clock app that has the feature to power the phone on and ring?

Feb 16, 2014My HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. This phone the first week started hanging up on people and is now doing it more often and i noticed while im on the phone before it hangs up on people it makes this weird clicking sound and cuts them off for like a second but only i can hear it , it does that a couple times then hangs up with no warning.
2. The past few days my Wi-fi and 4G will randomly turn themselves on i dont know why.

I plugged my phone into my laptop to sync my new music onto the laptop so ill always have it incase it doesnt save on the memory card because its done that before. but when i went to sync it none of my recently downloaded songs are showing up on Phone or SD card and i remember setting it to immediately save to SD card so i don't know whats wrong with it.

Sep 25, 2013Galaxy s2 sgh t989 rooted followed all steps.I ran hc-ktool to backup efs.img and efs.tar.gz. I have not flashed any ROM for fear of turning my s2 into a paper weight. I downloaded root browser from play store to try and look deeper. That is when i noticed my efs folder was empty. I have been scouring my files but feel like a blind man looking for a needle in a haystack.
i still have a good imei and broadband version...everything seems okay. I am reluctant to do anything for fear of bricking. I no longer have lockscreen or power off menu either.Can i reset the phone to factory default and restore my efs? If so, do i have to unroot my phone?

Mar 5, 2013I was trying to root my HTC One V and i unlocked the bootlocker,however that resulted in factory reset of my phone.Whenever i installed an app on my phone i always moved it to sd card via settings-->apps.I assumed that once my phone restarts after factory reset it will read the apps in the sd card but it is not so.The phone does read songs,pictures and contacts stored on my sd card and the sd card does have the folder of each app but how do i install it from the sd card?

Apr 25, 2012I have an Orange UK branded HTC Desire HD running stock firmware & NOT rooted. Since the fairly recent 2.3.5 update with Sense 3.0 I have found that I am regularly seeing Sense restart upon exiting an app and returning to the home screen. This is not related to a particular app, as it can happen when returning to home from ANY app. My wife is seeing the same behaviour on hers too.
Having posted on both HTC's & Orange's Facebook pages, I have been advised in no uncertain terms that as a first step I should perform a factory reset.
This is something that I have not done since I got my DHD (my 1st Android - plenty of hard resets on WM ). I have had a bit of a tidy up - clearing unnecessary data, uninstalling apps I don't use, etc. Pretty much ready to reset (but aware that there is SOME data that I will lose). However, there is one thing that I am unsure about...
I have previously moved a number of apps to the SD card. If I leave them there, will the existing data be recognised upon reinstalling the apps? Or will it cause me problems? Or will the existing data just be orphaned? I.e. should I move all apps back to the phone before performing the reset?

Jun 30, 2012After doing a phone reset back to stock, (Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4) I copied back all my previous saved items from the "Downloads" folder (I had copied the Downloads folder to my PC) and copied them back to the phone.
Now when I open the "Downloads" app it doesn't show anything there. I had documents, pdfs, jpeg, etc.
NEW downloads from market, etc do appear, but nothing else. How do I get the system to refresh the contents of that folder? I've tried Settings, Media, Clear, but that doesn't do anything.
It's almost as if the phone recognizes timestamps of the day of the refresh, but anything earlier is not recognized.

Apr 20, 2014i think i deleted the wrong files and now my phone won't go back the "HTC ONE" screen. I've done the process of a recovery and then allow the red triangle to come up, from there i know i should hold power + Up, and that should take me to a black screen with blue letters, and i should select something about "partition" but this black and blue screen, i remember seeing it as a thumbnail in a folder i deleted. I thought it was an ad photo saved onto my phone as spam (as the folder was named adSOMETHING) and so i deleted it and now, i feel i have have screwed myself over. I have no way of getting another phone right now. How can i get my laptop to read my phones connection and allow me to copy and paste the files needed to get it running again?

Sep 23, 2010When the leak came out I installed it and was running up until last week I never had one issue period I loved it loved the new features and loved the increase in speed. Last week I sbf back to 2.1 thinking how much better they could have made it over the last 40 days (boy was I wrong) I have had to do no less then 3 batt pulls because my phone has froze completly. touch screen out 3 times. Open the camera it closes down right away among other issues. I have had my ringer go so quiet on its own that I could not hear it then check the volume and its all the way up WTF moto you screwed the pooch on this one wow.
