General :: How To Map Gamepad / Joystick Axes To Control UI

I have a joystick with 6 axes an 2 buttons. If I connect that joystick to my device (nexus 7) through an otg cable it gets recognized as HID device.
The two buttons are both mapped by android to ENTER and the X + Y axes to direction keys. So it is already possible to control some UI sections (ie app icon selection on launcher).
I added a key layout map in "/system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_046d_Product_c626.kl" to customize the two buttons. I was also able to remap and invert all 6 axes.

As you can see I mapped the two buttons to the volume controls, which works fine. Unfortunately I'm not able to figure out how to map axes to keystrokes. As the X + Y axes are mapped to direction keys, there must be a setting somewhere for this. I would like to use all 6 axes and map them to simple keystrokes.

My sister owns HTC One V and she cracked the screen badly. So we purchased a new full LCD + Touch panel and I replaced it. We chose the cheapest one that we could find, but where the word "ORIGINAL" was mentioned in the description. Unfortunately the screen was not original, it seems that seller cheated us. It is not as dark when turned off as original screen is. But as soon as the price was really low we ignored that. The biggest problem is that screen axes are inverted and the touch screen is not inverted. So the screen is upside down, but touch works as if it was normal. And it is pretty unusable. I managed to install "Ultimate rotation control" and got my screen working in normal position but of course touch flipped too. I cannot give the screen to the seller back, so the only solution is the "software" one. I believe there is a program or firmware, or maybe i just need to edit any config file to flip the screen independently from touch or flip the touch independently from screen to make them work together synchronously.

I Have created a gamelayout for my ps2 usb adapter controller, the problem is that it doesn't get detected in Android, it's detected under linux (I attach some images) and the .kl file -It's inside "Vendor_12bd_Product_e002.zip" yes it's codified in UNIX, not MAC or DOS-.I followed the tutorial from here.
I don't know if this has to anything but my tablet is a chinese Pipo S1 dual core Rockhip 1.6ghz gpu mali 400 with the stock software -Jellybean 4.1.1-.As I stated, the controller gets detected, but the problem is that I want it to get detected as it should -Since it has plug for 2 usb controllers- in "Android" not in "Linux", hence, the .kl I used is not being detected and doesn't apply my mapping.
PS: I already did the changes for r w r r, I used the terminal too -command ls -l /system/usr/keylayout- (image attached) Do I need to declare this new Keylayout somewhere?
Edit: The new configuration does get dettected though, the device isn't is because the modules are lacking due to the kernel source is not released and haven't compiled the .ko for generic gamepads

Is there any way to reconfigure the gamepad settings for GTA3?
I know you can change the touchscreen controls but is there a way in game to change for the gamepad. i am using a ps3 remote through the sixaxis app and using native gamepad settings.
I am aware that you can create touch settings but i can not find any premade settings that will work with my S3. since the app supports native gamepad, i havent found any updated touch profiles on XDA or google. i tried making it myself also, not working out too great.
I am asking because the right analog stick for native gamepad sucks. you cant control the orientation of the screen. it changes you to first person and is useless.

What i'm trying to do is play PC games on my Nexus 4 over WiFi/3G. Which I can successfully do
The hurdle i'm trying to overcome however is getting my PS3 controller (Paired to my Nexus 4) to act as a gamepad on the PC's side.
I can successfully pair the PS3 controller and have it emulate mouse/keyboard inputs which is acceptable for keyboard buttons. But trying to use the right analogue stick as a mouse to look around is hopeless
Is there an app which can send gamepad inputs over the network? That way, I can select 'gamepad' in games and everything should work correctly.

I am a long time reader of this forum because i can find almost all of the answers to my gadget questions. And then decided to take on and register just because I am now frustrated and can't do anything about my ASUS K004 ME371MG Fonepad not detecting a generic USB controller/gamepad (although the analog indicator lights up when switched on).
The controller is a PS2-like controller with USB port-end, and I am using it through an OTG cable. Flashdrives, Mice and Keyboards are working smoothly on my device. Also, I let my friend try this contoller/gamepad on his device (Samsung Galaxy Note) and it is working.

I got my Incredible on Tuesday and have been enjoying the heck out of it.The weird thing is the optical joystick came off. I noticed a hole where the joystick used to be.I called Verizon tech support last night and they are sending me a replacement phone which I should get on Monday. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm not sure if this is just an issue with my dinc, but the joystick is too sensitive - to the point of being unusable. Every time I try to navigate screens, lists, or text in a message or web site address it acts as if I've pushed it no matter how light I touch it or move my finger across it. Is anyone else having this issue?

I've had the Moment for about 1 1/2 months. At times, it seems as though the joystick is "stuck" - it moves the cursor all around (sort of like the center mouse on a laptop). Sometimes it will move around the screen, move from one screen to another, move the cursor when typing, etc... It makes the phone unusable. I've looked in a bunch of forums and haven't seen anyone else complain. I normally have to remove the battery and boot it back up and everything starts to work again. I had a zag on it, but removed it thinking it might be the problem (it wasn't). The Sprint store was zero help (it didn't happen while there). Is there a way to disable the joystick? I'm tempted to just take the phone apart and remove it.

Let me preface this by saying that I just unrooted my phone and downgraded from Froyo, so I'm not interesting in rooting again if that's the only solution that you have.Is there a setting to adjust the speed at which the cursor (in text boxes, emails, sms, etc) scrolls through each letter? It seems the fast I move my finger across it, the slower it moves, but the slower I move my finger the faster in moves. Is there a setting I can adjust? I compare this to choosing how fast the cursor on your PC moves when you move your mouse.

Can I assign an app to the double click of optical joystick? (kinda like iPhone favorites). Also, is there a way to replace the default dialer app with another app? i.e. when I click "Phone" on the home screen, is there a way to bring up a different dialer app?

We need some one to create an app that will bring the phone out of standby using the joystick.It doesnt need to unlock it it just needs to turn on the screen so we can unlock.Any one know who i can email so that we can get a developer working on this project.This one is one thing i REALLY need on the incredible.Hitting the power button over and over sucks.

I need to flash a new rom, i was using MIUI but my phone is now stuck on the torch screen (even after pulling batter, it goes right back to torch). My issue is that i can flash a new rom or load a nanodroid because my volume rocker does not work. I can get into CWM through the power options on the phone but i can navigate inside CWM.?

I have been trying to find a way to control my phone from a touchscreen. I have a samsung galaxy running android and would really like to hook it up to my touchscreen in my car. I know there is a module called mimics that allows it to be done. It is difficult to install into a monitor tho. Any way to connect it to a touchscreen another way? Maybe a Mirroring app and cable(s)? My galaxy has a micro usb out, it can be used as a video out maybe?

I've been searching for a way to control the volume of different apps independent of each other. As in those apps that don't have any in-app specific volume controls. The only thing I've found is that the native android OS doesn't support such a feature, but that information is old.
While this has bugged me a bit in the past, it's only now that I've started using Google Now that's it's become annoying. I'm occasionally playing a game that has no in-app sound control, and I don't like the music/effects of that game, so I turn the media volume down to mute. But when I then switch to Google Now, the voice is on the same "media" volume control, which in turn makes me miss the spoken answer to my inquiry.
