I want to get rid of my S3 since i upgraded to a S4
My S3's LCD is broken so the screen won't turn on and i want to sell it for parts
but how can i make sure that all the phone numbers are deleted on the phone even after a factory rest ?? Since i am not able to see what is in the phone because the screen cannot turn on.

Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get the answers i'm looking for here so I can become a new Moment owner and a part of this community. First off, I have a palm pre and really do love my phone. It's great for movies and internet browsing. It's also just a slick looking phone. However, it's hard to ignore the growing giant that is Android. I have thought about getting the droid, but I don't like Verizon's plans, internet speed, nor the lack of a physical phone button. With that, i'm hoping some of you can help me with a few questions.
1) Can the phone physically support multi-touch. I know that the phone isn't set up that way, but with the Hero and Droid, you can download the Dolphin app and it will make multi-touch possible. The main thing I want is to be able to pinch zoom. That may sound corny, but I love it. It's the main reason I wanted a Pre.
2) Is there an auto-complete for typing like the iPhone or Droid. When playing with it, I didn't see one, but maybe it's a feature you have to turn on.
3) How is the hardware casing holding up? It looks awfully plastic and that scares me.
4) Is there another Sprint Android phone with a physical keyboard coming out in the next year I should maybe be waiting on?
5) How is the media player? Watching divx, making playlists, going through pictures?
6) Can you multi-task? This is a big one for me. I like being able to text, get a phone call, answer it, and go back to my text without a hassle. Same with the internet. I like to be on a conference call, and go surf the web at the same time, maybe even have a texting conversation, conference call, and surf the web at once. You wouldn't believe how many times that comes up.
7) Overall, what is you favorite thing about the phone. What's the thing you didn't know you loved until you had it.

Can I just order that famous 1GHz processor, bust open my Eris, and directly install it into my phone?
How about RAM? Can I do that too?

I really hate the stock messaging app on the bottom of my Galaxy s2. I like using gosms cause i can lock it and keep it private. But the messages are showing up still in the messaging app, ( i thought i enabled only gosms) and of course, when i delete them, they get deleted in gosms too
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Triumph and last night I got a notification that my memory was almost full so I went to delete some apps. The ones I deleted were QuickMark, FatBooth, Sports Wallpapers (from wallpaperbase.cc inc), The Walking Dead Theme (from STYLISH THEMES BY DESIGNEM), and Thermometer (from BORCE TRAJKOVSKI). I think it messed up after deleting The Walking Dead one. Anyway now my phone can't make/receive calls, send/receive texts, or do any data. I have been at 0 bars since deleting those. I called Virgin Mobile and they couldn't solve the problem so they are sending me a new phone. how can I prevent this from happening again in the future?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have xprivacy installed and even when I uncheck all options for Google maps and try to find my current location with it, the gps sign flashes in the notification area but never gets a fix on my location. My question is simple:
I think I may have accidentally deleted some GPS files from my phone /device location. How do I check or what files do I look for in particular (and their location precisely) to make sure that I deleted my files and its not an issue in some other place before I go reporting a bud to the developer.
And where exactly are the GPS driver/files located in the phone?
I deleted (accidentally) some system files, and then nothing happened, but i hit the restore or backup from setting and it went fine untill the loading screen, i mean it shut down then the first loading image fine and the next one doesn't load my system.. What can i do? (I think i know what software i shouldn't have deleted).

Here's my problem , after i accidentally remove google account from my phone and after i re-added my google account back to the phone , my phone keep redownload deleted apps . I tried to disable google sync like google drive and data and samsung backup and even disabled backup on my phone but its still not working. I also tried to go play store but i can't find anythings thats related to the problem .I deleted the deleted apps 5 times but after i deleted it , my phone keep redownload it back from play store. Is this a new malware ?
Im using Samsung S4 i9500 and I'm running latest firmware android kit lat 4.4.2 and no root.
i think i deleted the wrong files and now my phone won't go back the "HTC ONE" screen. I've done the process of a recovery and then allow the red triangle to come up, from there i know i should hold power + Up, and that should take me to a black screen with blue letters, and i should select something about "partition" but this black and blue screen, i remember seeing it as a thumbnail in a folder i deleted. I thought it was an ad photo saved onto my phone as spam (as the folder was named adSOMETHING) and so i deleted it and now, i feel i have have screwed myself over. I have no way of getting another phone right now. How can i get my laptop to read my phones connection and allow me to copy and paste the files needed to get it running again?

So (after posting this question on the verizon forums) I performed a factory reset on my phone (erased all data) in order to start with a clean phone. When it comes back up it wants me to activate the phone. Is there anyway around this? Or do I have to activate the incredible and then reactivate my S4?

I want to use Spotify on my phone, but a stupid app restriction allows me only to listen randomly chosen songs from an artist or a playlist. This doesn't happen on the tablet version hopefully, so I want to use the tablet version on my S4. I used the Xposed module "App Settings" in order to change the app's dpi to 240 and even to 160, but it doesn't change to tablet mode (although the app became nearly impossible to read because of the dpi). I assume that Spotify doesn't change its form by dpi then, what this app knows it's on a tablet?

- First, you can't switch off your phone without the password (useful with nexus 4, because you can't unplug the battery without utils)
- You can't restore your phone without the password
These actions could be activated always or by your activating them on a website (like apps that allowed you to locate your phone)
This would be useful if your phone is stolen, you could locate your phone if it's stolen because the the phone wouldn't be switched off or wiped
I looked for an app like that but I didn't found it..If no, is there an hardware restriction?

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got a text message and noticed that the name didn't show up even though it was from a contact. Odd I thought. Just gone into my contacts and all phone contacts have gone. It's completely empty. If I show Gmail contacts they're still there.
I haven't touched the phone since this morning, when they were definitely all there (I know because I text a load of people and looked them up).
I've got them synced with Outlook at home I think so not a major disaster, but very very random and annoying how they've just disappeared.
What is the reason that some charger make the phone thinks is connected to a computer. I just bought and IGO micro juice 2.1 amp. when connected make the phone think that is connected to a computer.I notice when that happen the phone charge super slow even with this charger rated at 2.1. if I run to apps at the same time its start discharging. MY 3 year old Igo charge alot faster even running a few apps at the same time.Is there any way that change that I feel that i waste my money with this charger if i canot make it charge like is a 2.1 amp.

But because it's not device-specific and, in a way, "sync" can be considered an app, i thought here would be my best bet. I've got a huge problem: Ever since I got my Magic, and because I didn't like the feature very much, I had the "sync contacts" option to off. I manually entered all the phone numbers & email I had, and was fine with it. Then, today, I thought "oh, wth, i'll turn contact sync so that my gmail will also have my phone numbers and they'll be safe". little did I know. For some inexplicable reason, when synchronizing ended, my phone had downloaded all my google contacts BUT it had completely wiped out my existing phone contacts. At the "view" option in contacts, under the "phone" contacts it shows 0, and it does not recognise my call log or my sms list as sent by known numbers. Oh, and my phone contacts (neither the ones I had before sync, nor the couple I just entered after all this) do NOT show up in my google contacts AT ALL. Is there any way at all to undo this? I want my phone contacts back!Also, is this some sort of bug or error or does sync reallly wipe out all your phone contacts? if so, WHY THE HELL does it do that? I thought synch would be upload phone contacts to gmail, download gmail contacts to phone, keep all of htem in both places. isn't that the point? Why did this happen? I'm pretty sure it never asked me if I wanted to keep my phone contacts or anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night, my HTC Incredible randomly locked up -- went totally black, wouldn't respond to anything. After a few tries, I was able to reboot, at which point the phone still seemed to be having trouble (plain black background, clock and weather cutting in and out). After another reboot or two, the phone began to function normally, but all of my contacts that were stored in the phone (as opposed to Google or FB for HTC sense contacts) were deleted. There were approximately 5 random contacts in my "People" section, all seemingly imported from Facebook. Pictures and text messages were still on the phone, but the text messages were only associated with the phone numbers, not with the names. Additionally, when I tried to make a phone call, I got a message that my phone was not authorized. After speaking with Verizon, my phone's calling capabilities were restored. I also used backup assistant to restore most of the contacts to my phone (though for some reason the last time they were backed up was approximately 2 years ago, so I have no numbers that I've gotten in the interim. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened to my phone, and whether there is any way to restore the contacts that I had before last night's crash? Also, is there any way to link all contacts with their Facebook profiles in one batch so that the pictures are matched up, or do I have to do this individually for each one using the "link" feature?

I've had it for 2 1/2+ months and it has done it twice, leading me to believe that it happens every month, regularly, because it always happens at the beginning of the month. The last time it happened, I brought it to the Verizon store but all they do is blame the consumer for any faults with software because Android is open source. Is there a way to get my texts back and how can I solve this problem? Is there an app that deletes text messages every month or so because of a hidden setting? Is there a solution to this problem without reformatting (I have my contacts, calendar, and a bunch of other stuff on my phone and also apps and I don't wanna delete anything).
