Android :: How To Get Physics Engine Runs Smoothly In Phone?
Mar 30, 2009Does anyone know of, or have implemented, a physics engine which runs smoothly in Android? I have spent the last couple of days trying Phys2D and JBox2D, however both perform very poorly - I am struggling to get even a few objects to simulate smoothly as frequent garbage collection spoils it. One question I do have is will these run smoother on an actual G1 device or is the performance of the emulator accurate?

General :: Phone Remote Control
May 3, 2012I use a PC at work all day but quite often want to use GTalk to chat to people. Unfortunately my company blocks it so I can't use a browser to chat but obviously I can through my phone.
I used to have an HTC Desire that was rooted so that allowed me to use droidvnc to connect to my phone from my PC via vncviewer using USB(There's no wifi here).It then meant I could type on my keyboard which makes things a whole lot easier when you're in the middle of something.
Basically now I've gone to an HTC One X I'm just wondering whether there's any app or anything that would let me do the same thing but without rooting the device as I don't want to invalidate any warranties just yet.
I'm really after a bit of software to let me remote control my phone via USB for the purpose of using GTalk.

General :: Control Volume From Bluetooth To Phone?
Mar 14, 2013I have hearing aids and a bluetooth device called an ICOM that connects my phone to my hearing aids. I wear it around my neck and the wire around my neck connects to the hearing aids It is great for my end of the conversation, I actually hear the phone inside my ears! The problem I am having is the ICOM output is too loud or the microphone is too sensitive. People talking to me say they hear a lot of background noise. If I have the TV on it overwhelms the conversation. The same with wind noise in the car! Is there any way to turn down the incoming bluetooth audio? I looked for an app that would do this but did not find anything! The ICOM is made by Phonak and they tell me there is no way to turn down the audio sensitivity or the audio from the little box to my telephone!

I can connect a wireless usb mouse to the tablet, but how cool is that?

Apr 12, 2010I've been block by this question for about a week. I tried to implement a simple application: show a image, when user touch on screen, I want to create a GLSurfaceView to cover the previous image. Then show some 3D effects on this GLSurfaceView.
The logic is quite simple. But I have a serious problem. When GLSurfaceView comes out, the whole screen become black, after 1-2 seconds, the GLSurfaceView with texture shows up. Is there any way to make this smoothly? The 1-2 second black screen is really a bad user experience.

May 6, 2010Just curious what you guys normally have freed up on your phones, since this is normally a way of speeding things up a bit. I've been reading today about how Task Killers are somewhat counter-intuitive and do not help with battery life. So I deleted and I'm now thinking about not having enough free memory... Figures.
Anyways, I'm 25mb right now, and I've hovered between there and about 125mb today. I'm curious what you guys are normally seeing. If I'm not using a task killer, is there something else you might recommend to keep things running smoothly?

Aug 18, 2010I've been reading a lot to being able to remote control my Linux running computers at home. I have a 60gig music collection and want to be able to play it smoothly on any of the computers or my Android. Of course I want to remote control the computers since most of them are headless (=without monitors) and until now I've remote desktop-ed them from the laptop. Oh and all the computers are Ubuntu installed. It turns out there are many different media players, even allowing DAAP or UDNP setup so that the media library is shared over my LAN, even to the Internet (subsonic). The best application I've found are Spottily and Groove shark, they're a beauty to use since the music is always available - but unfortunately they don't allow for any kind of remote control. So I thought; what if I could use some of the great media players for Android but just change the audio device they're playing on. Since Lucid Lynx actually brought an updated version of Pulse audio (the default audio device) which allows you to play music onto another computer on the network!
