May 21, 2010I have the following linear layout. What I don't understand is if I set the background to another image, the padding information are reset. Is there a way to prevent this?

I see the position of the children get shifted when I change the backround drawable of the linearlayout 'aPanel'.

Dec 11, 2013For some reason, I do not receive a notification for an incoming MMS message in Hangouts. I receive notifications for SMS messages perfectly fine, but not MMS. When I open the app, I will see MMS messages download, but I never receive a notification.

I'm using SMS on the Hangouts app, but I'm confused because it separates SMS messages from Hangout messages even from the same person. I have two different conversations going on with my wife, which is a little frustrating, and not substantially better than just having the Hangouts app separate from an SMS app.
I was hoping the threads would integrate so that I could keep having the same conversation in a single thread, even when I want to use SMS instead of 4G.

I don't use it, nor will I ever use it, so why does it have to be on my phone? I am so sick of having it pop up in Play Store reminding me to update it, when I don't even use it. Nov 25, 2013I recently started using Google Hangouts instead of SMS (TextMessaging). The only issue I have is that the numbers I havent added any areacode to gets the areacode for Sweden (+46), and this is ONLY on Google Hangouts.
When I go back to the regular SMS app, the areacode is removed, and I can again send SMS without sending it to Sweden first.
I'm from Norway if it matters (+47). But the phone itself is imported from Sweden, but I'm using Norwegian as language. I checked my gmail. I have my country set to Norway.

I'm always getting short texts from people instead of one long one. So my phone dings/vibrates for each one. I want to know about the first one, but not every one after that, at least until I put my phone down again.
If it was possible to do this on a per-contact basis, that would be even better.
I'm fine with rooting my phone or whatever else I need to do to fix this.

I would like to send a text to (say) family without having to select contacts individually in Hangouts, but that does not appear to be possible. Most of the add-on apps I've looked at for group texting are rich with other features I don't care about.
