View 1 Replies View RelatedWe've all been saying Android's next version, Gingerbread will be 3.0. But, new evidence suggests it is not 3.0.
Gingerbread is Android 2.3 » BriefMobile
Android Gingerbread is likely version 2.3 as a Google engineer on the Security Team called it 2.3 in a support response on Google's code site for Android.
Also, his response to the guy's support indicates that the Nexus One will indeed receive the upgrade! Not that we thought it wouldn't, but confirmation is always nice.
Think it is 2.3, 2.5, or 3.0?
Firstly, I want to ask what is the next versions from Android after froyo and why android phones have got a greater demand in USA. Is Android No.1 in the Mobile operating system.

The 2 I've noticed most often are Pandora and Mybackuppro. For example, the current version of Pandora is 1.1.1. When I upgraded from 1.1.0 in the marketplace, I installed over the old version and everything was working fine. After a soft reset, I noticed that the opening splash screen for Pandora listed 1.1.0, but the listing under my downloads in the app store didn't list an upgrade needed. I had to uninstall 1.1.0 and reinstall 1.1.1. I had that version on for about a week until I had another soft reset. Sure enough, I'm back to Pandora 1.1.0. The same thing happened with mybackuppro. This is far more irritating than screwing up the icons or displayed name, because this is actually changing what version of the software we're using.early adopters being the beta testers for mobile manufacturers and carriers.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIf you've upgraded to official froyo you probably know that downgrading can be difficult, especially if you have an SLCD screen. If you did a branded upgrade (e.g. Vodafone) then the old methods won't work at all.Since current rooting methods won't work on froyo this can be a big problem.I've created a tool that will downgrade Froyo to stock 2.1. It requires a goldcard if your phone is branded. The download details as well as instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256

I have a Micromax a27 (ninja) with android 2.3.5 gingerbread. I have been trying to root it since long but I can't do so. View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted my device (Galaxy Nexus GSM / Maguro) weeks ago and switched from the stock OS to Cyanogenmod 10.
Some days ago I received the (so called "stable") update to 10.1 and installed it (gapps 121212 too).
Unfortunately, the stable 10.1 turned out to be rather unstable: Apps (Google Play Music, Skype, Youtube, SMS, ...) either crashed on device startup or as soon as the app was started.
SMS frequently froze the whole phone. The former rather fast and stable device became an unstable and failure-prone device
Installing diverse nightly builds didn't improve the situation, so I decidet to roll back to 10.0.
Again, a bad decision! After installing it, CM won't boot any more. I can see the boot-image (the circle of death, as I call it by now) and that's it!
I tried to reboot in recovery mode, but I cannot switch options with the volume keys. The only option I have is to boot into the broken system...
Below the android icon it reads: Downloading.. Do not turn off target!
Nexus Root Toolkit does'nt recognize it (neither as fastboot nor as adb device).
My computer system ist Windows XP SP 3.
BTW: I don't know if this Information is relevant: The Android-Icon in recovery mode is not a lying one with its belly open but the standard 2D-Android-icon. And, perhaps more grave: Due to security concerns, ADB was disabled in my (then working) Cyanogenmod-OS...

View 5 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I got the new Facebook UI with the built-in video player+auto-play, It's very laggy (every time it auto-plays videos) and it's impossible to download the videos. I really don't know what facebook developers thought when they decided to make such a terrible update. I want to downgrade to an earlier version that still have the option to choose a video player (and download the video) and more important without the auto-play function.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I look at the display on Android devices where the OS is newer than Gingerbread, my eyes start hurting from the strain. For example, I tried updating my Tmobile G2's ROM from Gingerbread to ICS , then to Jellybean and after hours of tinkering with the display settings my eyes were still hurting. When I gave up and went back to Gingerbread, then my eyes were fine looking at the screen.
My question is: what exactly changed in the display settings in the newer version of the Android oS? Also How can I use an OS like Jellybean or ICS, but make the screen display with the brightness that was available via Gingerbread?I did try the ADW Gignerbread theme, but that mainly changes the look and feel of the icons, not the display
