I recently flashed Galaxy Captivate with Dark knight ROM v5.5. Everything went well and then I installed latest GApps (20120429). All other Google Apps works except GTalk. If I try to install it via adb it gives error like:
'INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES'.

I would like to install just Google Play (Market) without the other GApps. I tried a couple of APKs that I found floating around the forums, but none seem to work.
Are there some additional dependencies (like the Google account, for example) which I need to install in order to use Play? I am trying to avoid any Google synch and also don't need GMail, Talk, etc. Installing them just to remove them with Titanium or something seems counter-intuative.
I have an htc incredible s, i had android revolution hd 5.3 rom with ics 4.0.4, i create my google+ account using that rom, i downloaded clash of clans and play it a lot, now i flash the lacoste cm 10.1 rom with jellybean 4.2.2, bt, the problem was that this rom didnt bring gapps with it, so i download my respective cm 10.1 gapps from goo.im (20130812) and everything was perfect! My google+ account restore all my apps and contacts, but the main problem here is that when i open clash of clans, and try to restore my last progress with the google account, it doesnt, its like the data reset, now my data of clash of clans in my google account is this new village i have, its like my new gapps bring new and fresh data, but if thats so, how my google+ account have all my events in the calendar and contacs and everything, except my clash of clans data?
how can i get back that progres in this rom?if i have to restore my backup of my previous rom, how i surpass the md5 mismatch clockworkmod error if my backup file doesnt have the nandroid.md5 file in?
I installed quickflasher Quickflasher from broodplank (i9001_Quick_Flasher_v1.4.rar) and used this image:
recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip.
I Wiped data/factory reset and did Wipe Cache partition. However I did not have the option Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache in CWN recovery. I was able to succesfully install CyanogenMod 9 ALPHA (Build 4) with
update-cm-9-20120606-SNAPSHOT-ariesve-alpha4-signed.zip.
Then I successfully installed gapps package gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip with MD5SUM:
7c524e1e078164f681e0aa6753180b2c.
However after reboot I expected to see Google Play on the home screen or between the installed applications.
I recently upgraded my phone xperia mini pro SK17i 's software from GB to ICS 4.0.4 and rooted my phone. After rooting i installed Titanium backup and remove a few what i thought were unnecessary apps from my phone . I think i also deleted the google.download.manager.apk i'm not sure but i cannot see this service in my "ALL APPS" (APP Manager) Its not at the bottom or disabled its just not there.
Since then i keep getting gapps stopped working and Google play stopped working .
i have tried
1. Rebooting (multiple times)
2. Clearing cache/clearing data for Play
3. un-installing /Re Install play
4. Download goomanager and downloading latest gapps packed and flashed the zip
5. Delete gmail account and restart and add account again.
Also i don't think there is prob in Google sync...
and checked out all the sites and forums for solution ... i still haven't gotten any solution to this.
i saw in a few places about QtADB and new ROM..but i have abs no clue about what it is or how to go about it
I jst want the Google download manager back and Google Play to work...

Is there any way that this can be done on *Android*? I was trying this out with a friend the other day, and normally when you start a chat on Gmail via Gtalk, it will show up on your Android devices in your Google Talk conversations. Unfortunately, when trying to use the chat to SMS function, that doesn't work.
My custom ROM didn't come with Google Talk. I don't want another IM client that can have Google talk on it i want the real thing. I have tried loading talk in system/app but it didn't load. Another time i tried again it came in the app drawer but when i opened it it crashed. I am running salty bean ROM and devil kernel. does this kernel support it or not? I did set the permissions correctly and still no luck.

I have Maps, Gmail, Google Translate etc installet so I guess I have most of the necessary framework, but trying to just install the Talk.apk for Android 2.3.7 (from the gapps package for CM) didn't work (it didn't even install).
I have a Motorola Atrix2, running Android 2.3.6 on AT&T. I have used Google Talk since getting the phone last December, but for the past week have had trouble.
When I wake the phone I find that I am no longer signed into Talk. My contact list is subdued in grey, a notice appears at the bottom of my chat window saying that the connection with the server has been lost, and my 4G icon has gone from blue to white indicating that I no longer am connected to Google.
I haven't done anything to the phone / settings to cause this. I've tried many things to fix this including: rebooting, hard booting, force stop the application and clearing it's data (cache is always empty), and replacing the SIM. Needless to say none of these steps have worked. I have not tried a factory reset as I have read elsewhere of people trying this with no luck.
As far as I have been able to tell, this problem only happens when connected to my service plan, I have never noticed this happening when hooked onto WI-FI
Having searched online all I can find that might be at fault is the version of Android (the phone originally had 2.3.4 but was upgraded several months ago), and the fact that AT&T has recently upgraded to "true 4G LTE" in my area. I have no idea if either of these are actually the cause of my problem.
Google Talk is one of my two main means of communication and I really need this resolved.
I just realized that my status changes the moment I unlock my phone. I rather use Google's app but may give up on it if I can't change this behavior.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Galaxy Note with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, unlocked. I got it three weeks ago, and not once have I managed to get Google Talk to log in... except when I'm using wifi. On wifi, it's totally fine. But try to use it on the data connection, and it just refuses to log in. No errors, no explanations... it just goes grey and nothing will happen. I use Google Talk constantly -- it's really making me regret giving up my old T9 Nokia, because at least that ran Google Talk properly. I'm tearing my hair out over it, and I can't find any support anywhere -- the product forums for Talk have been dead 18 months, the blogs for it even longer, there doesn't appear to be any support email address...
I don't really know what other useful information I can provide. There's no error message to describe. Every other app works perfectly fine over the data connection, including Trillian (connecting to the exact same Google Talk account) and Gmail. Never had a problem with anything else. I have tried removing that Google account from my own and re-adding it. I have tried force-stopping and disabling the Google Talk process and clearing its data (though the option to clear its cache is greyed out). Neither brings any chance. I've tried double-checking my APN settings; the only two I have are the currently-used one and the MMS one. I've called my service provider and asked if they maybe blocked any ports or anything; they haven't. I have made sure that Google Talk wasn't set to 'restrict background data' in the data manager; it wasn't.
What could cause this? What can I check?
I see this on my desire more than anything else. It happens all the time and it does not seem to be linked to any specific application. I have searched but can not find anything that helps.
My phone only started doing it after rooting. Any ideas?
I am having a problem with my wife's EVO - Basically an error message pops up when she tries to sync her google email, calendar, or contacts that says "com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly" and gives button to force close. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had a desire for a couple of months now and have recently been getting an error with the gmail app. Whenever I open it and scroll down it comes up with "Loading conversations ...." then it pops up the force close error "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It then closes the Gmail app.I have tried to the factory reset option and clearing the gmail app cache but this does not rectify this error. Short of sending the phone back to Vodafone or HTC I am stuck.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am using IMO for Instant Messaging and so i removed the TALK app from my Nexus one (running Oxygen Rom) using Titanium backup.Recently there was an update in TALK app and i wanted to try it (Hangouts) so i installed it from the playstore. It was very slow on my mobile so i removed it again.
Now i am getting Talk notifications (with the old TALK icon) in the notification bar. along with the IMO notifications. When i click on the Talk notifications it does not open any app. and the messages that are notified by TALK are missing in the IMO app so its very frustrating.
So i thought it must be the HANGOUTS app and re installed it from the Play Store. Now i get Hangout notification, Talk notification and IMO notification. I removed the Hangouts app from the Application Manager and i still getting the TALK notifications.
Topic says it all. This just started happening today. I read online that clearing out the data for Google Apps and Gmail would fix this. No go.Just did a factory reset, still fubared. Anyone else have this problem? Have a fix?

I was wondering if anyone has been using Google Talk exclusively for SMS and ditched their texting w Verizon all together. I mainly ask as I am curious how reliable it is as a replacement for SMS. I'd love to cut my phone bill by $20 a month. My friend (5-6 months ago) said he was having issues w Gtalk in regards to some msgs not sending, or he never actually received them to his phone. He had issues with his N1 on Tmobile. Is anyone still experiencing similar problems? My SMS MUST function and be completely reliable as I use it constantly to communicate with my managers.

I'd like to be able to use Google Talk on my Hero and his BB in lieu of SMS for chatting with him while at work, so that I can turn my phone on Airplane mode with only wifi on to save my battery (signal is terrible in my office)My concern is that I'm not sure if Google Talk is always connected like his BBM seems to be. Anyone have any insight on this? I see that "Automatically Log In" is an option....but say for instance we don't chat for a few days and he decides to send me a message. View 11 Replies View RelatedSo since I got the phone on Thursday, at random, I'll get these popup crash messages, that say "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly" it has a "Force Close" button, which doesn't seem to change anything other than to acknowlege the message.It will happen at random, sometimes while I'm on the home screen, or sending a text message, but more recently, as I was trying to manage & link contacts. When I searched for this message it seemed to be related to people using Gmail, but I always get this message when I'm doing other things and not even touching my Gmail account.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've searched around the forums (here and SDX forums) and although it seems the few people that had this issue were able to solve it, my case seems a bit different.
It's different because of the people I've read solving the issue, it was a problem with something they changed / removed with gmail / gmail storage or talk / talk storage. And when they cleared the cache or re-installed the problem went away. Also, it seemed that the same people had a problem with downloading from the market...
Neither of the above apply to me, but yet I'm still getting this FC error all the time!
I was helping a friend with their CL14 Moment out of the box...and went from stock 1.5 CL14 to 2.1 DD03 w/Joey recovery to EclairDD10 and v5 root. I then did the streaming media fix, and then the private app (build.prop) fix (all previously done with my phone no problems). I did all of these update right in a row, and after my last re-boot the FC error (process com.google.process.gapps has stoped unexpectedly) started showing up and won't go away.
The only .apk / odex files I removed were the preloaded Sprint apps
Does anybody have any other ideas on how I can get this FC error to stop? I've tried clearing the cache / data for all the mail / talk apps, rebooted, cleared dalvik cache...
Keep getting this message "The process com.google.process.gapps has stooped working unexpectedly. Any thoughts on what this is and how to resolve?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell I've finally had a problem crop up that I can't solve in my XTR 2.1.1: This morning upon booting up my phone, a force close applet appeared just after the lock screen, "com.google.process.gapps can't start.. blah" and the force close button. Everything seems to work fine, gmail, calendar etc. Just that annoying error message only when I reboot. A search here found that same issue in many different devices, including the Droid, but with no solutions offered other than a reflash. I'd like to know what caused it all of a sudden; this has been a very stable ROM. I know that all I have to do to make the issue go away is flash my recovery image, but I don't want to do that before finding a solution to this for future reference.
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhy I'm not able to sign out of Google Talk? I have 2 Gmail accounts and want to switch over to my other one. I unchecked the automatic sign in box in the settings and forced closed and reopened the program again. When I open it, it automatically signs me into one account. It's extremely annoying. I hope I don't have to do a full reset of the phone because I already have so much stuff on it already, including a lot of personal data. This is something that I just can't get by because I need to start using G Talk now.
