Any setting to force Google Now to keep the weather card "always on"? I have noticed that this has been disappearing lately, and doesn't even show up when I press the "show more cards" button.

Just installed the new Google Search. But i dont have any options to turn on cards, like TV shows, local transport etc. Do these appear over time? I only have 4 things in "Everything else" but i have seen people have like 20+

The Google now works as far as voice recognition and asking questions, however cards are not displayed and at the bottom of the Google now screen I do not have a area that is supposed to have "more Google cards" button. I have activated everything I can think of and cards still do not display. I even allowed google to save web searches on my account ( its active). It also said to tap in the Google now window go to settings and then "Google now" to turn on or off....well I do not have a "Google now" option....strange! I am on 4.1 Jelly Bean ( did not root ) its standard upgrade.

Now, I will shoot quite a lot of HD video in the near future, which means that even a 64GB tablet won't be large enough. Solution: Backup on a second SD-Card!
So right now I am waiting for the Acer A510 (with support for USB-OTG).
Can a Dual-SD-Reader like the one linked below will be working on Android, so both SD cards can be mounted at the same time?

Few months ago i installed CM9 on my Galaxy Tab 7+. Everything worked fine to begin with, but after a while i was unable to delete stuff off my microsd card. I wound up buying a new card, copied the music and tv off the old card and installed it. Same problem. Now i have 2 microsd cards that I'm unable to write to at all. I can't write anything to them, can't delete anything off them and can't format them. I've tried using them both in my phone and on 3different Windows PCs with the same results. I have tried the SD card write fix referenced in the Galaxy Tab Plus development section and that didn't fix anything. The problem seems to be with the cards themselves, not the tablet (and phone and multiple pcs).
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, this is what I want to do. Under Linux, it would be done via /etc/fstab, but Android has changed some things up.
Certain apps store files and other things on the internal SD card of the RAZR. For example, the Amazon MP3 Cloud player stores all downloaded music files to /sdcard/amazonmp3. There is no way to change this. However, I store all my music on my external SD card. So, what I want to do is create a mount point on the internal sdcard for the /sdcard/amazonmp3 directory that points to a directory on my external sd card (/sdcard-ext/amazonmp3).
That way, when I download music, it will still attempt to save it to /sdcard/amazonmp3 which really is a mount point that points to /sdcard-ext/amazonmp3.
Now, there is an app called FoldersPlug which does this. However, it's not doing it across reboots and it's a little buggy in how it works. I'd rather just fix the /etc/vold.fstab file (if that's possible) to mount my directories for me, but I don't completely understand all the needs to be set up in it.
If I have the following directories set up:
/sdcard/amazonmp3 (this will be empty)
/sdcard-ext/amazonmp3 (this will contain all the files and folder structures that would normally be in /sdcard/amazonmp3)
I want it so that the /sdcard-ext/amazonmp3 directory is mounted to the /sdcard/amazonmp3 directory.
Here is what I see when I run the "mount" command to look at the current mount points that are mounted:

I must have changed a setting somewhere. I used to be able to connect my SGS3 to my computer and see the files of both my internal and external SD cards. For some reason now all I can see is my external SD card. I am running a CyanogenMod 10 ROM. I have USB storage activated.

Well some hackers pulled the .apk file off that phone and now have it available for us Droiders. I put it on my phone and it works great. The news app is really cool. You can create custom news topics such as "Android" or "Mobile News".

Velocity 0.3 has the Genie widget (was it in 0.2 as well...don't recall) and I've tried removing it via a script in the terminal emulator. Removed fine, but I cannot install the APK I have for some reason. Simply comes up with the error "Application not installed". When I do attempt to install the APK, a message comes up saying that "The application you are installing will replace another application". I know that the file versions are different as well. Love the transparent widget.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI got a new Wildfire about a week ago and I've been loving it, I used it in London and at home here in Norfolk with no problems until yesterday. All of a sudden my weather location changed to Sheffield.When I went into Google Maps it locked my location to be a park on the outskirts of Sheffield then after a few minutes it would find my real location. I turned off Wifi and using Wireless Networks to locate and it stopped doing that in Google Maps but wouldn't change the weather location and sometimes when I'm using Foursquare it will come up with a random list of places near Sheffield.This morning I wake up, turn on my phone and it decides it's in Aberdeen where apparently it's sunny. That's on the other side of the country and I just can't shake it off my weather gadget.

I installed this on my EVO (Genie Widget.apk) because I love its simplicity and elegance, but today it's telling me "Sorry, unable to connect. Please try later" with a "Retry now" button. Just wanted to know if it's only my phone or everyone's? I tried rebooting, also tried stopping and uninstalling/reinstalling but to no avail. If it's happened to other people before and there's a trick to fixing it, that would be great to know too.

However, I do NOT want Google contacts to be auto-updated... I dont use Google contacts, all my contacts are Phone contacts, and I want to keep it that way.

Most of the specs for tablets which have a micro SD media slot do not give any details about it. I'm generally wondering if a slot labelled "microSD" will accept a micro SDHC card (as opposed to a micro SD card). I know, for example, that some older memory card readers won't read the SDHC cards, even if they have an SD slot. I'm not sure about the tablets however.
Example of some of the tablets that I'd be interested in knowing this about are: Acer Iconia A700 or A210, and Toshiba Excite.
Can anyone recommend a weather widget that displays the current weather based on location? Preferably cell tower info instead of gps and one that only used data every set interval based on my settings so that it doesn't use data constantly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?

If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
So I got the 2.2 Update. If I try adding the News & Weather widget, the weather is always wrong. Always has the sun on all night and temperature is wrong too. I checked all options of course, should work fine. Has anyone else encountered this?
