Jan 5, 2012I want to force the Gmail native Android app to use Wifi, and not the mobile data connection. recommend an email app for Android that would allow me to accomplish this?

General :: Force CDMA Instead Of LTE When On WiFi?
Mar 26, 2012Would it make sense to save battery to drop to 3G(CDMA) from 4G(LTE) when on a reasonable strong wifi connection?
If it does, is there an app or toggle that can make that happen automatically?
General :: No Gmail Or Market On WiFi (Galaxy Tab 8.9 And EVO 4G)
Dec 12, 2011My Galaxy Tab 8.9 and EVO 4G will not refresh Gmail or get into the Market over wifi. Everything else on wifi works fine - web pages, amazon appstore, weather data etc., but not the Market or Gmail.
The strangest part is that my EVO 4G on 3G (wifi off) works just fine. My laptop has no problems over wifi with Market or Gmail. I even bought an app off of the Market on my laptop using wifi, and had it sent to my Galaxy Tab. The Tab says it's downloading, but hasn't changed status in half an hour.
I have not tried deleting my gmail account and signing in again. That's a hassle I'll save for last resort. I can't see how that would change anything since the EVO works just fine over 3G.
General :: Setup Email (not Gmail) To Only Download Automatically Over WiFi?
Oct 9, 2013is there a way to set up my email (not gmail) to only download automatically over wifi? I receive a lot of work emails and it uses data unnecessarily when it downloads on my phone when I am at work. Ideal will be to only download when I change the setting. Don't want to turn of data completely because then all the other apps stop working too (WhatsApp, facebook etc.)

Jan 6, 2010When I start the gmail app I would like it to ALWAYS go to the Inbox.Instead it starts with some old message displayed and I have to tap menu Back to Inbox so I can see new messages.And it's not like it's opening the last message that I was reading either it's some old message that's not even in the Inbox.Is there any way to force it to ALWAYS go to the Inbox when I start the app?

1) I have been using the gmail app that came with my hero,and was wondering,
is there anyway I can FORCE a password/login page?
I am a little iffy about someone else having the opportunity to view my personal email quite easily just by clicking the app.
2) I was playing around with the Mail app that came with my hero and logged in to my gmail, so now anytime I click on the mail widget,it immediately pulls up my gmail.
Is there anyway to dis-associate my gmail with the Mail app? I tried going under settings> applications> manage applications> Mail, but alas, I couldn't find a way to erase the info.

Aug 7, 2010Out of nowhere this morning, my gmail app started force closing. i haven't installed any new apps in the last couple days.
When i tap the icon, it'll load the first few messages in my inbox then it'll pop up with "the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." on the rare occasion that it doesn't FC right away, it'll load the first few messages and at the bottom of the screen will say "No connection" so i'll tap the "retry" button next to that, and THEN it will FC. (and i'm not 100% sure, but I think that same process FC kills off my gchat, too.)
I'm non-rooted running 2.1 still (no froyo yet).
Android : How Can I Force WiFi?
Aug 4, 2010This is a newbie question: I've had my Droid X for only four days so far, but love it. While at home, I sometimes have problems connecting to a network. I think the problem is that 3G is not as strong here, but I have a good WiFi network. Is it possible to have the phone use WiFi as the first option so I will keep the connection even if 3G is weak? Or is my problem something else?

Aug 6, 2010I have had a desire for a couple of months now and have recently been getting an error with the gmail app. Whenever I open it and scroll down it comes up with "Loading conversations ...." then it pops up the force close error "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It then closes the Gmail app.I have tried to the factory reset option and clearing the gmail app cache but this does not rectify this error. Short of sending the phone back to Vodafone or HTC I am stuck.

Motorola Droid X :: WiFi Not Turned Off And Battery Icon Force Closes
Oct 4, 2010I just picked up the Droid X yesterday and so far love the phone. I had the Incredible a few months ago but had to return it due to some camera hardware issues. Anyways, my phone came with Android 2.1. I upgraded to 2.2 after charging my phone. Now:
1) Whenever I turn off WiFi, within 1 hr my phone will keep telling me it detects WiFi networks, I'll go back in control panel and sure enough WiFi has some how turned itself back on.
2)My battery usage icon, when I click on the battery to get a breakdown of what's using power it 'force closes' every time.
Android :: Using Both 3G And WiFi - GMail Lag?
Sep 25, 2010Okay, sometimes when I have a picture I'd like to send someone (or even myself) using Gmail, I'll attach and send as normally done and hit send. Sometimes it works as it should and I receive the email immediately but then sometimes I'll hit send and I'll wind up getting the email like 40min later.
Has anyone else had this issue? I would hate to tell someone "Hey, I sent you that picture." and then look like an ass because my phone isn't working correctly.
This isn't a connection problem as it has happened using both 3G and WiFi. Today it happened and I totally forgot about the email and then bam, almost an hour later I get an email from myself.
HTC Incredible : WIFI Kills Push Gmail
May 11, 2010Been loving my DI but have noticed that when I turn wifi on, gmail is not being pushed to my phone. Then when I turn wifi off, it still doesn't push. I have to turn the phone on and off to get it to resume pushing...Seems like the WIFI and 3G don't like to play nice...

Dec 10, 2009I'm experiencing some strange phenomenon on my HTC Magic. I have disabled my 3G, so I only use 2G networks.
But on random times, not very often, I suddenly get a message, saying I have new unread Gmail email. When I look at my Gmail inbox, my inbox is totally up to date! I think this is very strange, because I had 3G and WIFI disabled when I retreived these mails. Can Gmail email be retreived via the 2G network? As far as I know, email can not be retrieved via GPRS or other 2G network.

May 22, 2013why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

How can I make this happen? This new app (Pocket Informant) does not force the choice between apps. Yet, neither the android calendar or Pocket Informant is listed as the default in Manage>Applications. (Clear Defaults is grayed out for both apps). Can I force PI to become the default?

Lately I've installed the new official update, knowing that I will loose root (which I did not really need anyway). May 29, 2013So, I'v just changed my whole system to English, and that made me realize that THAT changes how GNow acts compared to Brazil. Ours is very limited, so changing system languague unlocks all of the goodies from it.Though , as much as I understand English, I don't want the entire phone to be on it.
So, I've wanted an app that makes the GSearch app thinks that the system is in English, when it actually isn't... I think that shouldn't be hard with xPosed Framework... Sadly, I have no knowledge on how to do that... How hard would it be? Make an module that makes an app that forces an app to think you are using one system language, when you actually isn't...
General :: Most Apps Force Close?
Nov 16, 2012Last night, one of my apps, flow free, wasn't working properly, and then it forced closed, then I think most of my apps did, like Samsung homepage, gmail, software update, android phone, log provider etc. I have a Samsung galaxy y Gt-S5360T, I haven't changed anything like ROM so I think it will still be in stock rom. After these apps have forced closed, it will turn off, we'll more its like it just turns itself on again. And then the problem just starts over. While this is happening, I can't really do anything, well when the force close thing isn't up, then sometimes I can start going into things, but never get a chance to do anything because the force close things either take me back to the home menu, or it turns off, sometimes, instead of having apps on the first page, and the call log, contact book, and messaging on the bottom, it just has the menu key, that's it. And even when I haven't unlocked it, it turns itself off and on again.
My SIM card had a problem, so I recently changed that to a blank and had it working with my old number and balance. And because of this, it was last night, I saved my contacts to my phone, rather than my SIM card.
Is there any way of fixing this( have already tried turning it off and on, and taking the battery out and putting it back in again) without losing my photos, songs, saved messages and contacts? And if not, is there any way of saving them to something else, even though my phone won't let me do anything? So what can I do?
General :: Force Android To See Apps?
Nov 10, 2012So I have been flashing a couple of roms lately and everytime I flash a rom, the new ROM sees all the apps that are installed. However, it's not doing that anymore and I have 1GB left of storage with no apps installed. Is there a way to force android to see these apps? If not, is there a way to just wipe all of the app data that is on there so I can start over?
I just tried a factory reset and it didn't erase anything
