is there any way to disable the lock-screen on MIUI. I've been in the process of turning my Galaxy S Vibrant into a Windows 7 Phone Clone, and I am using an app for a lock screen which works about 85% of the time, but after awhile, the other regular lock screen displays over this one creating two lock screens.

It has to be has to look like the real one and with music controls.
I use MIUI v4 on my Sony Xperia Arc S and it is great but now i have a question. Is it possible to show the last WhatsApp messages on the lockscreen like a SMS? I don't want to use the PopUp windows from Whatsapp.
I read about the object ContentProvier and it have to provide the data for other apps. So if the app stores the data in this object other apps can get the information from WhatsApp. Can edit WhatsApp for this feature or do you have to edit the lockscreen app from MIUI too?
I had to write this up again cause my browser tab hung when I hit 'preview'. I couldn't even copy the text. Other tabs were working fine though. Is this XDA's fault or my browser (Chrome)? Anyway, teaches me to always write stuff up in Notepad first. So, onto the problem...
1. Some months ago, I flashed MIUI into my device, was working fine. I do the regular Friday night developer updates, although the notification doesn't always come up so I could've missed a few.
2. About 4 or 5 days ago, opening an application or sms started yielding the error message "android.process has stopped unexpectedly [FORCE QUIT] [WAIT]". I can sometimes get around this by fiddling around (rebooting, turning wifi/data on and off etc). It buys me just enough time to complete the task, but then the issue starts again. Phone calls don't yield this error, though.
3. Then today, I rebooted my device and it got stuck in an endless loop on the MIUI logo screen. Obviously this is related to the errors I've been getting. I booted into recovery and backed up my data to the internal SD. I don't believe the backup completed though. From memory, an error may have come up. It still, however, created a date stamped backup file.
4. Tried to restore the backup file, "missmatched MD5 checksum". Tried to restore an earlier backup, same thing. Tried some other restore options such as restore boot, restore data, restore system etc, still same thing.
5. Then I read that clearing the dalvik cache may fix the issue, so I went into advanced options and cleared the dalvik cache, rebooted, now my phone won't turn on, nor will it boot into recovery mode. It will, however, boot into download mode.
I could swear that I've seen a forum for this somewhere around here, but after 30 minutes of searching, I can't find it. What I'd like to do is completely disable any notifications showing that the charge is complete. Reason being, I use Bedside and at roughly 2am the notification closes bedside and lights my screen up until I acknowledge it. Then I have to close it, re-open bedside and I'm back in business. Anybody know a way to just turn that notification off all together?
View 15 Replies View RelatedThe phone is one day old. Whenever I recieve a text.I get the notification in the top left-hand corner and the display will stay up until I press the sleep again. It will fade out in any other circumstance but whenever I get a text, the screen stays lit until I do something.The phone is brand new. I have only installed a live wallpaper. And the delay IS set to 15 seconds. The delay works on everything but that screen. It wastes so much battery in my pocket when I get a text and don't check it as the screen stays lit.

I downloaded a kernal on ryans lag fix and then it made my phone get stuck on the VIBRANT SAMSUNG screen so i tried to fix it by using odin, but all it did was make it go to the Galaxy s sign now, any suggestions on how i can fix this? Asphalt HD from Gameloft. I really love this racing game. Its on par with racing games made for the psp. I hope they release an expansion pack with more cars/tracks/events. N.O.V.A from Gameloft. A pretty good fps. It kinda reminds me of halo. I wish there was more weapons and enemies/bosses. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Dungeon Hunter from Gameloft. A standard rpg. Im playing this right now. my thoughts so far is that its a pretty good rpg for a phone but pales in comparison to handheld console rpgs. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Hero of Sparta from gameloft. its a hack n slash game. this is the only game from the gameloft hd series that I didnt like so far. I havent tried the other 5 HD games from gameloft but I plan on doing so.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy device is a Galaxy Y, and has no official support from both the CM7 or the MIUi teams. There is CM7 build by a developer here on the XDA device thread, but it isn't completely stable due to lack of closed source drivers from Qualcomm.
Since MIUi is only available on MDPI and above devices, I have resorted to taking files from other ports for LDPI devices.
I was very successful in booting a release of MIUi I had made the previous day, but the browser kept encountering FC errors. There is already a port of MIUi available on my device forum, and that has the same problem too. I have taken a logcat, but I am completely lost as to why it keeps FCing.

I try to get into recovery and it just loops the Samsung Galaxy S and Vibrant logo.
it wont connect to my laptop - cause it loops and since it does that, I cannot use odin.
Even I got the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant which is very nice and I still don't know if it's better than IPhone 4 regarding office apps.

I understand that Tmobile has much better customer service ratings in surveys but some say Sprint has improved?
Tmobile phone has 16g internal memory vs sprints 1g(but 16g SD). How important is internal memory size for androids? Some say in 2.2 you will be able to use SD memory for apps so internal isnt as important in the future? I assume these phones will be able to upgrade?
Sprint phone has better features for me - forward camera for video conf, hard keybd, and 4G.- all of which are big pluses for me. When is Tmobile getting 4g and will the phones upgrade?

View 49 Replies View RelatedRecorded some video at a concert last night and the video came out ok but the audio was way over modulated. Even when I am in a quiet setting and have the phone close to my mouth and try recording video and talk in a normal to somewhat loud voice the modulation is still over modulated. I can't seem to find any way to adjust the audio record level or mic level. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have this issue? Tried the same quiet setting and talked loud into my Blackberry 9700 and no over modulation issue. When talking on the phone with someone they say I sound fine, so what's up? If you have this type of phone and have recorded video and have no problem with the quality of the sound please let me know in case i need to have mine replaced.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe tried to root it and apply the lag fix via "OneClickLagFix" app (from the Market), and the phone was very fast for about a week, then slowed down SIGNIFICANTLY. Tonight, it just froze and will not boot past the Galaxy S screen. The screen will then go black and the four buttons at the bottom stay lit. We have gone into recovery and wiped the cache but no luck. Have not yet tried to wipe user data.
Transfer all data from internal storage to a separate drive, then wipe phone? If so, will I have to "flash" a stock/custom ROM to get the phone back up?
I've been curious to know which US Galaxy S model has sold the most. Anyone know where one can find such information?
