I just tested my WiFi speed on my diablotek d2 pad and it is really slow. I max out at .40 Mbps... It will not go higher that that. I tested the same WiFi network on my phone and it came out 13mbps. The only thing I did Is the replacement of the build.prop so it can look more tablet like and added gapps.

I am able to find and connect to my Wifi Network at home, but internet connection between my new Android Tablet and Wifi is slow. My apple devices connect to the same router and are able to browser fast, the android tablet also browses fast with other Wifi network. There is something between the combination on the tablet and my wifi router that is making the connection slow (the google homepage takes forever to load so does other sites).
Tablet runs Android JellyBeans 4.1 and Wifi is secured using WPA-PSK (tired AES, TKIP and even open connection)
Across all three of my devices; Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S3, and Nexus 4, my download speeds for downloading and updating apps on the Google Play Store have been unbearably slow, taking 20+ minutes to download 5mb. Only while using wifi though. HSPA+ data through T-Mobile is quick and painless.
I have Verizon Fios as my ISP. I've seen numerous other threads complaining about this issue across the Web but none offer any type of explanation or solution. While restarting the router/modem alleviates the problem for a few minutes, it's no use..
Also, might I add that YouTube has been unusable as well do to awful buffering. I think there may be a conflict between Fios and Google's servers. Whatever this is, I'm getting fed up. I can't download or update any apps on my Nexus 4 that I just got today, not to mention on any of my devices at all.
I know it's not my Internet, speed tests reveal 20megs down and 5 up across all three devices and general Internet usage is awesome. Only YouTube and the Play Store have been affected.
For some reason my desire is quite slow on my home wifi. On speed tests I get around 600-700kbit/s, whereas on 3g i get 1800-2000kbit/s. My other devices (laptop, ps3, ipod) dont suffer from slow speeds and can get around 12mbit/s. I've tried updating the router firmware and changing the channels but its still slow, even when my desire is right next to the router! Router is a netgear dg834gt.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've ranted on here about how slow wifi tether is on the Evo. Well, I've always done wifi teather with my Evo and my iPad. Today, I replaced my iPad with the new MacBook Air laptop (sweet machine, by the way), and the wifi tether with the Evo is blazing fast! Even 3G is pretty darn fast. I tried a speed test with 4G, and was getting like 8 MB down! I couldn't hardly even get 4G tether to work on the iPad. Had to just use 3G, but even then- 3G was running slow as dial up.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I just rooted my phone yesterday with the new unrevoked 3 and mainly for the purpose of getting the WiFi tethering app back. Yes, it worked, but man has it been a sad day. I've been reading posts of people having great speeds and here I am trying to enjoy my 0.4 kbps down and 0.3 kbps up speeds, but it sure is hard when other devices can't even use the connection because it's so insanely low. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this problem?
Is it because of the new root? Is it because of my phone? I used to have okay speeds before with just having a rooted phone via unrevoked 1. I don't know if it's my data network either because it still loads sites pretty well and downloads just fine. It's just the WiFi tethering that is horrible. I tried playing around with the settings (LAN, channels, etc.,) and to no avail, as well as moving around the house, so now I'm stumped.
I am having some weird issue with wifi tethering, i have 3-4 bars of 3G but no way to get online through wifi, but when i hook up USB tethering it works just fine, anyone know what could be causing the problem, also when i do get wifi to work its either very slow or it loses internet access, at the moment im using wireless tethering app off the market, ive tried barnicle wifi but my computer cant find the signal for some reason, i have tried different wifi channels, somewhere i read to set the MTU to 1200, but that doesnt help either, anyone know a solutition so im not stuck with usb
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any reason that download speeds over my Wifi are soooo slow? I'm downloading a 150MB file from usenet and it's going to take about 20 minutes. Same file from this pc over the same Wifi takes under 2 minutes. I'm not looking for the exact same speed (though it would be awesome) but something more reasonable would be nice. Could it be the SD card is too slow in write performance? Just wondering if this is an issue with the phone, or a simple SD card upgrade.

I'm using the Wireless Tether for Root Users app, and I'm getting terrible speeds.Speeds I'm getting are: 634kbps down, 106kbps up. Is this normal or is something wrong with my setup?
View 26 Replies View Relatedmy Moto G is so slow when i try to browse the internet in chrome or dolphin if i'm connected to any WiFi. when i search with Google the initial results come up fast, but then when i click on the page if it is not already cached the blue bar will freeze for 10 seconds, load a little bit, then freeze again for another 10 seconds, then eventually load the page. this doesn't happen at all on 3G. I've done speed tests and they don't seem to be effected by the slow speed on wifi. I've tried disabling wifi optimization, location services, and battery saver, but nothing works.

Latency is also a slight issue. 3Mbits is okay, but just wondering if this is abnormal. I used the speedtest.net app, and I connect to my router using WPA1. Does everyone else get similar results? BTW I'm using Fresh 1.1 Rom.

I've looked through as many threads as I could and tried the advice I found, but still no luck. The phone seems incredibly slow all the time. I came from a Palm pre, which had issues itself, but the Hero seems so much slower. Opening apps takes time, even the phone takes time. I've installed and app killer, no luck. I've reset the phone to factory settings, no luck. I've updated preferences, deleted apps, reset phone. still nothing. I read and was told that the Hero was faster than the Pre, but mine doesn't seem that way. Wifi always drops when connected to my home router. My wife Sprint phone always stays connected, but not mine. I reset the router, disconnected and reconnected the phone, tried all advice that I could find. Nothing. Visual voicemail doesn't work with bluetooth. I was told that this may not be a phone issue, but rather that the application doesn't allow bluetooth. Can anyone confirm?

I have a Droid Incredible and added a line to get the X figuring I'd just sell off the Inc when my X arrived. Since I got my X, I've noticed that when I am connected to a wifi network, it almost seems to crawl when I hop around from page to page.
I ran some speed tests on my internet connection, it seemed that it was my phone. So then I ran speed tests with the app in the marketplace, first on the DInc and then on X. The upload speeds were pretty close to identical, but the download speeds were consistently 300 kbps higher on the Droid Incredible.
So after running those tests, I decided to just do some side by side browsing on the X and Inc to see how big the difference was between the two. I opened up a few pages that I don't ever really visit so they weren't in my browsing history and the Incredible would again open pages 10-15 seconds quicker.
Has anyone else had these same issues? I know their was a software release shortly after the initial launch, is their another one in the pipeline?
I love the phone, it's a multimedia beast. But I don't think I want to keep one that has a busted wifi connection.
I just got a BOGO with my wife for the Facinate. I switch from a fully rooted/ROMed Incredible. On both our phones, the Market loads and searches VERY slow on WiFi and 3G. My Incrediable loads/searches almost instantly while the Fasinate takes...3, 4, 5,..., 10secs at times. Downloads are slow too.

I've got no problem with her downloading the universe when connected to my ADSL but preferably not through cellular data.
How I can go about disabling this "auto-disabling" of the Wi-Fi connection when it detects that it is slow? I couldn't find the option but I also find the S4's settings a tad disorganised.
I don't have this happening on my phone (BB10) so I wasn't expecting this to happen and she doesn't check the symbol at the top to see whether it's on Wi-Fi or not.

I have positioned my Vibrant right next to my wireless laptop and am running the speed tests from Speedtest.net (app on phone and internet site from computer). The speeds shown are remarkably different on downloads: computer 4.5ish (wireless g) Vibrant 1.0ish and very inconsistent. What gives?

i just recently purchases a droid and noticed the wifi connection upload and download speed is very slow relative to what it should be. I have fios with a westell wireless g router but im only getting about 1 mbit up and down when i sit right next to it. Also wondering if anything notices the screen tilts a little bit when you press on it, like its loose.

The browser will start and then stop when u tell it to go somewere then after a dew sec it takes back off. Text message when u bring it up it takes about 10 sec to load then another lag to start typing and there wont be any old messages in box and when they do finally come up u can't scroll threw the old ones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Eris does not seem to be taking advantage of the WiFi speed capabilities of my home network. I just tested my network in multiple ways. I'm getting good connection speeds on all devices EXCEPT my Eris. Here's what I did:
1. I went to Speakeasy.net and tested the hard wired internet connection speed to my PC. The result was 22 mbps down.
2. I tested the wireless connection speed to my laptop, also via Speakeasy.net. Again, 22 mbps.
3. I tested the wireless connection speed to my wife's iMac, also via Speakeasy.net. Once again, 22 mbps
4. I tested the connection speed on my Eris (repeatedly) via a speed test app that I downloaded from the Market. Only 2.5 mbps.
5. I loaded the Speakeasy.net website in my Eris' Android browser and ran the same test. Only 2.9 mbps. So, all wired and wireless devices in the house are getting ~ 22 mbps, while my Eris is getting significantly less. Specifications:
-Eris is running default Android 1.5 OS
- Home wireless router is a Netgear Wireless-N Router model # WNR2000 running in WPA-PSK [AES] security mode. "Mode" is set to the highest -- "Up to 300 mbps."

First : I downloaded like 10 apps and it was going too slow and sometimes it stucked in some position and it wont get out and work for about 1 hour so i had to restart it , when i clicked some apps or buttons it will click them several times and doesnt work properly , i have not installed a sd card . yesterday i reset the whole phone and started all over and now it is a little bit better but still
install quite a few roms on my phone, and i usually restore my apps/data with Titanium Backup.
What i am asking, could restoring these apps for each rom slow the rom down in general? Or will restoring the data not effect it at all. Its just some roms feeling a bit sluggish after restoring them.
I need to know why my data speed is so slow. What can I do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my Samsung ETA-U90EWE charger (US plug) from eBay and when I use it to charge my Note 2 it shows that it delivers 1698mAh of current into the phone. However, when I use the ETA-U90UWE (UK plug) that comes with the phone, it also displays the same input current, but with the UK one, it charges much faster.
Note: In both cases, I use the same USB cable which came with the phone and both charger delivers the same 2A current at 5V.
My speedtest on my 3G network is 12mbps. However, when I download an App or Additional Files from the play store, I get speeds of 100kb/s which is way below the 12mbps expected download rate (should be more 1-2mb/s).
