I have a Galaxy S3 from sprint and lately it is getting really slow and freezes up about every 5-10 minutes and it's really starting to bother me because I'll be in the middle of doing something and I have to set my phone down for a good 10 minutes before it starts acting right again. I've tried restarting it and deleting a bunch of unused apps. \

Since about 10pm last night my dhd has become unbelievably slow. every key press (whether it's accessing a menu or typing a word) has a delay and even loading my inbox takes several seconds. the circular sync logo is displaying itself most of the time on the top right of the screen, so it could be something to do with that? i've tried rebooting the phone, going offline etc. but nothing seems to be able to fix it.anyone else had this problem with a desire or desire hd before? it worries me a little. i hate stuff like this...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have bought galaxy tab 2 p5110 last weekend and when i started it up, the screen was unresponsive.. so I locked the screen and when I unlocked it worked normal. I used it for couple of hours then I gave it to a friend for him to root it.. he installed ClockworkMod, CryogenMod, used Odin etc and set up android 4.2.2
However this screen issue hit back later and it still continues for more than a week.. If i have to describe the issue a bit more detailed: "when I unlock the tablet, if i dont click on anything, sometimes the screen becomes unresponsive so i have to lock and unlock it again only then it works fine for hours. It used to happaned rarely now it happens a lot more often.. Now it also happens during games or while surfing as well so it is even more annoying.
i bought a samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 from the store and now i have got issues with it .
First : I downloaded like 10 apps and it was going too slow and sometimes it stucked in some position and it wont get out and work for about 1 hour so i had to restart it , when i clicked some apps or buttons it will click them several times and doesnt work properly , i have not installed a sd card . yesterday i reset the whole phone and started all over and now it is a little bit better but still
Is anyone experiencing an unresponsive notification bar sometimes? When this happens, I end up opening the weather widget by accident. The only way to clear the notification is to open the corresponding program.
I am not sure what triggers it so I am guessing it happens randomly.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S3 and am trying to write a shell script that will simulate screen presses in a very rapid fashion. To do so, I stumbled across the "input tap" function from /system/bin/input and my script looks like this:

Anyway, the code works great in that it will tap the screen at location 640,100. However, each call to "input tap" takes almost a second to return. My script takes around 10 seconds to complete. However, I was hoping to find a way to speed up the call to "input tap". I am not sure if this is a limitation of my phone.
Im thinking about buying the samsung galaxy s soon. But I would like to know wha the bugs are? I know theres a problem with the gps im sure. Ive also heard things like the general opening and closing of apps is slow? is this true?

I know it's naturally low, since it's only 512, but I've been uninstalling unnecessary apps using Titanium Backup (I'm rooted) and the phone still doesn't work very smoothly. It sometimes freezes for a while and then restarts on its own.

But lately now I have a serious problem. I have Verizon Fios at home and whenever I try to connect my Wireless tablet to it It lags, it slows down, many times the connection comes up for a couple of seconds, then connection drops. I told Verizon about and they are going to send me a new router. it is a software connection issue with the Samsung Tablet? On my computer, I am getting 7 mbps download speed and 6 mbps when I am supposed to be getting 50 Mbps on my comupter.

set both to deactivated
-> finally the touchscreen is not lagging anymore
Maybe now they've sorted the Galaxy Tab out they can concentrate their efforts on sorting out 2.2 and / or a GPS fix for the Galaxy S!
View 2 Replies View RelatedGot my SGS this week and only real annoying problem is I find the accelerometer to be slow on times.....when I want to text and switch to the qwerty board by rotating the phone it sometimes just sits there and does not respond, can wait for a while, (smae when I want to view my photos) or I will just move it back vertical and then horizontal again.....really annoying, anyone get same prob? is there any fixes/causes for this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI encountered one issue when hacking my HTC One XL, the touchscreen was unresponsible after installed CyanogenMod(cm-10.0.0-evita stable version)
I followed the installation guide mentioned in Cyanogen wiki..Unlocked with official HTC Dev Unlock and flashed eyeballer's recovery attached in above installation guide, whole procedure is smooth without any errors.Already wipe the cache and system, also factory reset before installation.
But after installed the stable CyanogenMod cm-10.0.0-evita.zip, touchscreen was unresponsive fully, buttons (power and volume) can work normally. When I rebooted to recovery mode on device, touchscreen function was back and worked well.The basic info of my device as below:

"It is likely due to a firmware update that was put out by HTC in a later version of their software. The same problem happened with the regular (non-LTE) HOX. Since work has halted on the HOXL due to a DCMA takedown notice on github, I don't know if the maintainers have worked with newer kernels. However, it may be worth checking on xda and see if there are any updated kernels or CM builds that address this issue."

A few days ago my Sony Xperia T (running Jelly Bean 4.2.1) started having a problem - when I select any app to open on my homescreen they are completely unresponsive, the touch registers on the screen but all of them refuse to open. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to fix the problem, first I turned the device on and off for a punt, which didnt work. Then I went through all my apps to make sure there was nothing out of the ordinary on my device and as far I can tell there isnt. I next installed a task manager app to kill all processes, again this did nothing. I then installed a virus scanner to scan all the files on my phone but nothing was found. I then decided to clear all of the devices files by restoring it, this fixed the problem for about 10 minutes before the problem returned. I then re-installed Jelly Bean 4.2.1 on my device, which again fixed the problem only temporarily. when using the device to do anything else the touch screen is completely responsive, so I have no clue why all my apps just refuse to open.

I'm rooted and I don't have any complaints. If I want to upgrade to 2.1, can I do that off my phone and the Sprint Network or do I gotta take it in?
Also, how will this affect my phone? Will I have to re-download all my apps? Do I have to Un-root and get the 2.1 update and Root again?
I'm perfectly fine with my phone now, however if it will substantially make me happier, I'd be willing to do it. Hence the rooting.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI dropped my phone from a waste level height onto concrete, the phone appears to be in perfect condition but the screen is completely black and unresponsive. I had upgraded the phone, a motorolla Backflip, to Cyanogen 7.1 so it would suck less (still sucks) and what I need to do is somehow fix the screen or maybe view the files somehow from my computer. There was tons of really important school related notes on a notes app I downloaded as well as other really important files. My number one goal is to somehow get these notes or just see them at least in whatever way possible, fixing the phone is not so much of a worry because I already have a replacement. The phone vibrates when it powers up and the LED notification light blinks as it is being charged like its supposed to, the keyboard keys don't light up like they're supposed to and I'm not sure they work, but the home, back, and the other button with the four squares on the front of the phone work and vibrate when tapped but they don't light up either. The phone is clearly on I just can't see it.

I'm curious if this is just a Sprint issue. Evo on Sprint is much faster ,so its not a network issue.
I am having problem with performance of SQLite database in Android application in Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 device. The database contains 10 tables with 3 - 8 columns each.
As soon as a database file gains about 400 KB update/instert queries need much more time to execute - 2 seconds! In comparision to other devices (HTC Magic, HTC Desire) update/insert queries take about 40 msec !
The database file is located in application data directory. Moving database file to sd card increases the speed significantly.
Periodic ANALYZE and VACUUM commands do not affect the speed. As well as PRAGMA cache_size command.
Do you have any ideas how to improve the performance? for keeping the database in sd card or splitting the database into many files containing one table each.
I just got my phone about 4 days ago, and when opening apps, unlocking, opening contact lists etc etc, it just lags heaps. Does anybody else have the same issue? Could it just be an optimization thing or something?
View 35 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4 mini and have realized that my contacts seem to appear on the screen very slow. It sometimes takes upto 2 minutes to appear. Some thing you all should know is that I have 2000+ contacts (mainly clients).
At first I was using google contacts and i assumed this was causing it to lag due to using data to refresh... but I transferred all the contacts to the device itself... so it shouldn't lag anymore!
When people even call... there name doesnt appear, and only the phone number shows, even though I have the number installed in my contacts. This is also the case with text messages. When I want to compose a new text, and search for a contact... it doesnt do anything for about a minute or two.
I have opened the developer mode, and changed the animations to off, but this hasnt solved the problem.
Looks like they are getting a OTA update to 2.1. They have a huge post about it, but it looks like a slow roll out. Can anyone confirm this?

By waiting until Jan 12th to make it available even to developers, they knew that their own Nexus One phone would be the only one running 2.1 at least for a few months, thus giving them an exclusive. Why not make it available to developers ahead of time so they could have a working version ready by Jan 12th? Clearly Google did it on purpose.

I have installed lots of applications on the phone and i think coz of which the phone has become really slow. If i go to task-manager---> Summary, under program it shows 456MB/516MB. My update reach from half and hour to 7 hours. Often it only updates every 3 hours. My battery is full to 3/4 at this time.
According to Google the updates depend on how often you move and how strong your battery is, but the update will never take longer than 1 hour.
Do you guys experience the same problem?
I have upgraded my Galaxy Grand Duos I-9082 from Jelly bean 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 and the phone hangs randomly. on 4.1.2 it was working truly commendable.

I am rooted, I have tried the new fresh and older versions, they slow my phone done, and it freezes all the time. I am on a rooted/stock version on 2.1 and would like to use live wall papers still?
