I downloaded the Android 2.2 source code and try to build it. When I executed the make command, I got an error here like this build/core/java.mk:20: *** frameworks/ex/common: Invalid LOCAL_SDK_VERSION '8' Choices are: current 4 5 6 7. Stop. Then I changed the frameworks/ex/common/Android.mk to LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 8 from LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 7. Next place, build/core/java.mk:20: *** external/jsr305: Invalid LOCAL_SDK_VERSION '8' Choices are: current 4 5 6 7. Stop. I changed the external/jsr305/Android.mk to LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 8 from LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 7
Last one, build/core/java.mk:20: *** external/guava: Invalid LOCAL_SDK_VERSION '8' Choices are: current 4 5 6 7. Stop. I changed the external/guava/Android.mk to LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 8 from LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 7
By these changes the code started the compilation.
1. Why the error occured?
2. Changes which I did is correct or not?

I'm attempting to test one of my applications in the SDK1.5 environment, but when it tries to build, I get this error:

But I've tested my other application in the environment, and it worked fine. I've looked through my imports, and none of my files import NumericShaper, so I'm confused as to why it seems to think that it is being referenced.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just switched the way my Android project is being built and non of my unit tests work any more...I get errors like WARN/dalvikvm(575): VFY: unable to resolve static field X in WARN/dalvikvm(575): VFY: unable to find class referenced in signature These errors only come from my Unit Tests, where classes defined in it can't even see other classes defined in the unit test. Before each project had it's own directory with copies of the 3rd party jar files. I've read around that Dex does weird things with references but haven't been able to figure out how to fix this problem. Is there a better way to do this? I would love to see an example of a large Android workspace where there are multiple projects, jar references, etc.Is it possible to fix this with an Order/Export tweak ?

1) Checkedout the project via apps-for-android instructions

2) Opened a new Android project using existing source dir [per the WikiNote direction]
3) Cleaned the project and let it rebuild
It won't build the APK though and reports compilation errors (the top level dir is flagged red in eclipse but nothing else is so I can't track down where the error supposedly is)

1.) The project is missing gen folder.
2.) There is a build path error.
I go to "Configure build path" and uncheck "Android 1.6". It works. If I do this again, I go and this time check "Android 1.6". It again works.
This is more of an Eclipse error than an Android or Ant error. My Eclipse project won't build because when it sees the build.xml created from the Android command, it starts looking for the debug and release commands. Well, since they are dynamically generated from the <setup> task, they don't exist. So now Eclipse (Build id: 20100218-1602) locking the project from build/run based on these errors. kay.. so here is the weird part: It worked this morning. In fact it has been working for weeks with the build.xml file sitting there. All I did was edit the build.xml file in Eclipse (changed some constants). Ant thinks everything is peachy.

On my Mac I installed Eclipse, the SDK and created a new project, then hit build expecting to see my first helloworld app.I got the error "the project cannot be built until build path errors are fixed".After going thru all the path-like options in Preferences, I noticed that on the tab "Java Build Path" the "Google APIs [Android 2.2]" option did not have its check box checked.Checking it made the problem go away.It works now and I can see the app in the Emulator Have I not set up my environment correctly? I used all the defaults in Eclipse and the Android SDK.

Your project contains error(s), please fix them before running your application. This has happened a couple of times already and I've been able to repair it by cleaning and rebuilding, sometimes having to restarting eclipse, sometimes having to restart my pc, but now it won't budge. I've gone back to a known working version of my app to remove that unknown. Typically I can find project errors in the Eclipse Package explorer, but my code is fine according to the Package Explorer. Any other project debug tools? Is this a known Eclipse/Android environment issue?

Cloned Superuser source code

Everything built fine and Superuser is in my app drawer when rom boots. If i try to open Superuser it force closes. Root checker shows that i am rooted, and typing 'su' in terminal emulator gets root access. Neither will give me a dialog asking to deny or grant.
If i install SuperSuperuser from the market, it will present all the normal dialogs and everything seems as it should.

I know I can get the firmware version(like 4.1.1) with android.os.build but I need the build number of a rom(like "Rom version 1.0") thats stored in build.prop. I know I can parse the whole build.prop file and extract the 1 string of information but is there another way to get is faster and that it doesnt require root to use?
I was looking through my system files with root explorer and I notice in the build.prop file, I had the information for the Xperia Arc instead of the Xperia Arc S. I changed some of the info to the Arc S, like LT18i instead of LT15i. But I'm not sure if I changed everything correctly and can upload the build.prop file for the Arc S.
