View 3 Replies View RelatedI hit the top button. Flash Clockworkmod recovery or what ever it said. I then backed up my Current ROM. I then downloaded Cyanogen v6.0.0 cr2. It downloaded and rebooted my phone. But It went to a screen with a Triangle w/ exclamation and a phone under it. I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.

When I get to the ClockworkMod Recovery screen, it won't select anything. I can move up and down but when I select it with the power button, it just goes to a blank screen....like your locking the screen. When you hit the power button again, the menu comes back.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy friend tried using a ROM Manager on his DX and it doesn't seem to be working right. When trying to flash a ROM it reboots, attempts to boot into Recovery, fails, then boots up normally.
When I boot into into his ClockworkMod recovery manually, it doesn't appear to have all the options like it should. For instance, I cannot create a Nandroid backup or flash stuff from the SD card. Is this normal?
From within the ROM Manger I tried to flash a new ClockWorkMod Recovery but that also fails just like flashing a ROM.
I have an Incredible so I don't wanna screw up his DX so how do I flash a new Recovery for him? I can't create a backup of his stuff so I want to be extra careful.
To use more features in the ROM Manager app I decided to flash the Clockwork recovery image from Rom Manager.I got the message the image had flashed so I tried to restart my phone to make sure it flashed and to make a nandroid with the new image.Phone would not boot into recovery for me.So I pulled the battery (phone was stuck on "HTC" screen), waited 10 seconds, replaced battery and tried starting the phone in regular mode instead of recovery. That worked. So I tried restarting in recovery mode again.Failed again. Figured the problem was in the Clockworkmod recovery image. So I pulled/waited/replaced the battery again and restarted the phone in regular mode.Used the USB to get to my SD card and went into the file for the Clockwork recovery image and deleted it.Then I pasted the 1.6.2 RA back onto my SD card and planned to flash it.
But I have not been able to flash the image because all my phone does now id get to the "HTC" screen and stays there.Nothing else to show it is booting up.Finally pulled my SD card and put it in my card reader on my computer.Pasted the Clockworkmod recovery image back into the correct folder, thinking I might be able to at least get the phone to boot up in regular mode. No luck.Just goes to the "HTC" screen I see every start-up and stays there. So the 1.6.2 RA is on the root of my SD but not flashed. The Clockworkmod image is back in it's folder but not re-flashed.
My Problem: Was using the HTC Desire bought in India. I rooted with Unrevoked 3.21, S-OFF with Alpharev.
I was thinking of taking my phone to HTC to show an LED burnin problem, and tried to unroot by flashing the RUU for Asia_India: RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_India_1.21.720.4_Radio_32.36.00 .28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127705_signed. I thought that was the correct RUU.
I booted my phone in Fastboot, applied the RUU, and it rebooted my phone into RUU. Then it flashed an error message saying the RUU version was incorrect. Being the idiot that I am, I rebooted the phone..And got stuck!
The phone does not boot. On pressing Vol- and Power button, it vibrates, and then nothing. Screen is blank. It wont boot into Fastboot, Recovery or the ROM. If I connect it to USB and do the Vol- and Poweron, it detects my device as an Android 1.0 device.
I have tried the following:
1. Went to Android SDK, tried flashing Clockworkmod recovery image with the command:

My friend had a problem with his phone and asked me to have a look at it. It's the
T-Mobile Vivacity ZTE P736E
It was stuck on the T-Mobile boot screen and wasn't working, so I did a few things and now I've managed to install ClockWorkMod.
Whenever it boots now that comes up. What I can do now to install the OS on it so it work again ?
I have a lg p505 and i rooted it then i tried to put ice cream sandwich on it as said here-->

I'm using micromax A73 and trying to flash recovery mode on it. I have appropriate .img file of clockworkmod with me. I tried to flash it using androidforums.com's sp flash tool method..
But its showing some error on SP flash tool.. (snaps attached). I tried bot a75 drivers and official a73 drivers. But no use. how should i flash this clockworkmod.. Is there any other method to flash?
I done a backup using Clorkwork Mod before I flashed a new ROM onto my phone. Now when i am trying to restore the backup onto the phone using CWM it completes the task but whenever I reboot the phone it gets passed the first samsung screen but hangs at the second SAMSUNG screen where the text is pulsing.
I have tried Wipe / Data factory reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvick and fix permissions. None of these seem to make any difference. The only thing that has worked in flashing a new ROM but I do not want to lose any of my apps /configs.
I just received a used phone that, when powered on, has Clockworkmod Recovery.
Why would this be on the used phone? Has the OS or phone been tampered with by previous user?
I cannot figure how to get to main phone screen.
I was wondering if you could change the ClockworkMod recovery, and if so, how?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Galaxy S2 running Gingerbread 2.3.4, my baseband version is I9100XXKI1 and my kernel version is 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKH4-CL487028root@DELL136 #2
Using Odin3 v1.85 and S2 Root. (Superoneclick kept freezing on me)
My aim is to install Cyanogenmod 7.1.
So far I started off by trying to flash it with XWKDD Insecure, which I believe is wrong? However after rooting it, I installed ClockworkMod Recovery, downloaded the ROM and tried installing it - which is where the problem started - I kept getting the error in recovery mode 'Invalid whole-file signature'.
It just wouldn't boot in to ClockworkMod Recovery.
So after some digging around I managed to find a file to flash to my device for the CWM Recovery mode, tried it, and it worked. However, I still couldn't install Cyanogenmod from my SDcard.
I tried it a few times, wiped/formatted a few times and ended up getting my device stuck in a bootloop.
So, I've managed to get it out of the boot loop, and started fresh...
I flashed it with XWKH4 Insecure, unrooted, rerooted etc.
I've downloaded CWM again, downloaded the Cyanogenmod again, tried installing it, and once again it's gone back into Androids recovery and failed to install because of the 'whole-file signature' and failing to verify it.
I did post this in Q&A as well, however it doesn't seem to be as popular a forum as this one, I'm not really looking to wait for days for a response.
randomly yesterday my phone shut off and rebooted itself. Well, it became stuck on the Samsung boot screen. So I reset it again, and again, and again. Eventually I went into recovery mode and clicked the wipe data/factory reset button. Actually, at first I clicked the wipe cache button. So I rebooted it, and now everytime it boots it goes straight to recovery mode (Volume Up, Home, Power). So i began looking for solutions and decided it would be best to restore to a stock Rom. Well I downloaded one, and attempted to look for it in the internal SD card but all it said was "unable to mount sd". Did some more research, and found something called odin. I went into download mode and odin was able to recognize my device. Loaded up my stock rom (pda, .md5) and it would say this:

Not entirely sure why it stopped at recovery.img. I installed the Samsung Drivers from the website and still nothing. Uninstalled odin and went to an older one, still same message. Installed a newer one, still same message.
Galaxy 3:I5801 with firmware upgraded to 2.2 , was rooted already..I had been trying to upgrade to 2.3.7 with cyanogen 7.2..Clockwork mode recovery was not installed and instead in the normal recovery mode a zip file ,containing the files:META-INF,System and zimage, was renamed as "update.zip"
It did accept the zip and displayed "Welcome to android 2.3.7" but then was stuck displaying "I5801" logo.I am still able to enter the download mode (Vol - | power | home combo) and the "Forced upload by key pressing(vol + | power | home)". I tried usng ODIN to flash , it is flashing and displaying "pass" but no change in the phone .

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a chinaphone and I'm trying to install a custom recovery so I can make/restore backups if anything messes up the phone, but it hasn't got an official clockwork mod recovery.
I've read that you can build a custom recovery using the ClockworkMod Builder website with the original recovery img extracted from the device,I tried using this method to extract the recovery: http:[url]....
Then I used an App called Online Nandroid Backup which has successfully created a recovery img for me, I ran it through the ClockworkMod Builder website but it says no changes were made.
why do you have to use clockworkmod to flash custom ROMS? If you can flash backups from the stock android kernel, why not ROMS?

I have the OG Motorola Droid A855. I installed the 4.1 Jelly Bean mod onto it. I'd like to move my apps to the sd card - however, the "Move to SD Card" option on my phone is grey and unusable.
I'd like to do so with Clockworkmod recovery. However, I cannot do so because my Clockworkmod recovery does Not have the partition SD Card option (it is v2.5.0.1).
How am I supposed to partition my SD Card without this option within Clockworkmod? What is another way to do so?
