This happens on my LG Optimus G and GS3.
I click a video from say, 9news.com. The video plays in landscape mode with the PLAY button and slider for video time progress.
BUT, when the play button and slider disappears, so does the video. There is sound, but no video.
I cleared my defaults buts the only option after clicking the video to play is:
Browser
Chrome
ES file downloader

the Android Browser is not streaming the video, it forces it to download it first to play it in the Android Player or some other video app I have on the phone (The Daily Motion website won't even play videos, it shut plays audio). On my old iPhone, I would touch a video and it would stream through the browser, Chrome, Dolphin, Safari, etc. But with Android, it always wants me to download or try to play through an app which doesn't work or it just doesn't work. I have tried, Dolphin, Boat, Chrome, Opera, Baidu... none of them just play the video with problems. I didn't have this issue with iPhone, and it's kinda upsetting that I have such powerful hardware (Galaxy Note 3) and stuff just doesn't work like it should.I thought it was just my phone, but i tried it on my friend's HTC One and got the same results, so it must be an Android issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Ally running 2.1. I tried to view a video feed from a web site and i got a message that the video was not supported. I selected to download it from a pc and it was an mp4 file. Is there a way to view the stream on the Ally? It does not appear to be flash when running from a PC. I know 2.1 does not support flash. Does anyone know a streaming viewer that will work with the 2.1 browser?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to stream video (or use progressive download) to a Motorola Droid Browser and am not having a lot of luck. With my iPhone, I can direct Safari to http://xxx.xxx.xxx/FileName.mp4 (which is an MPEG-4 video file) and Safari opens quicktime and the video plays. However, with the Droid, I go to the same web address and am faced with a error stating "Cannot play video. Sorry, this video is not valid for streaming to this device".
When I direct the Droid's browser to a WMV file, it will fully download the video file and then play it in what appears to be the Droid video player if I click on it. Ideally, I'd like to replicate the behavior of the iPhone on the Droid, where the video player pops up and the video starts before the complete download. Video format isn't an issue, as I can encode the video to pretty much any standard. I was trying the .mp4 file because the Droid documentation says that it supports MPEG-4 video, although I can't get it to work from the browser.
I'm using Note 2 -android 4.1.2. I've come across an unusual problem today. I tried streaming videos and none of the videos are playing on both chrome and the defalt internet app. I always used the default browser video player.
When a video is clicked to play, the usual black screen appears but thereafter it just keeps loading with the circle going round in the middle (attached screen). But nothing happens. I have not installed any other apps since before nor any other mods.
What I have already tried. I have resetted app preference under app manager and stil the same issue
Tried installing MX player and tried to load the streaming video via mxplayer still same issue.
I've been using Stock Android browser and wanted to switch to Chrome but I have a strange bug. When I want to see a thread on xda or other forums the link isn't redirected to Tapatalk. I just want to know if it's normal or not

* On the phone the Google Chrome Beta for Android.
* I have 2 Windows 7 Ultimate running Google Chrome dev channel. In both computers I'm loggin to Google Chrome (not only Gmail, the sync feature of the software).
The thing is this:
I only see the "Mobile bookmarks" on the Google Chrome Beta (on the phone) and also in only one of the Windows 7 computers.
I want to see the "Mobile bookmarks" in the 3 devices: 2 Windows 7 and 1 Android phone.
Xperia Z1 has big fullhd display. Do I really have to use some ****ty mobile version of Chrome on it? Is there any way to make it like on tablet? So it would have full tab support and wouldn't even think about displaying a site in mobile version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have motorola defy running CM10, and I can sync chrome bookmarks using chrome for android. But the app is a bit laggy on defy, so I am using stock android browser and here is a method to sync bookmark between chrome browsers and android browser:

Is there another menu that can be accessed in the newly released chrome browser where things like default zoom or user agent can be set? I have tried lots of about:* things and chrome://flags and such to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have three root folders in Chrome for Android: Other, Desktop, and Mobile Bookmarks. "Other" and "Desktop" sync to Chrome's desktop counterpart. But, how does one get the Mobile Bookmarks folder to sync, which incidentally is the default folder opened in the browser? Presumably, this is the folder that you would most likely want to have synced, no?
And, for those bookmarks I have indeed saved on the device to the "Mobile Bookmarks" folder, I can't for the life of me figure out how to sort them. Yet, the other two seemingly less important root folders can be sorted with a simple automatic sync using the desktop Chrome version.
I recently spotted my 9 year old son searching for inappropriate stuff inside the Google Chrome app. Is it possible to restrict the browser so that when he googles certain words, it wouldn't bring out any results? I've seen programs that do that but I can't recall any of them. Oh, and he's using the original Nexus 7.

That means Hulu, ABC.com, Fox.com are all going to be usable on the Google TV, Android tablets and ICS phones!
In the last 3 weeks, I've found that Chrome To Mobile has stopped working for my Chrome browsers on mulitple desktops, to multiple devices. "Print" requests on the Cloud Printer Beta page show my requests, stuck in a perpetual state of "Queued" ... until I delete them.
Deleting and adding the devices hasn't worked. Neither has stopping and restarting Chrome sync.
I am using the Alcatel OT-918d (stock rom, root access enabled) and while playing videos in the browser, I do not get an action prompt to choose from the available video players and browser plays the video using "default video player".
The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.

A friend has been trying to watch a streaming religious program on her android 2.3 tablet. I thought maybe she needs flash. Google Play store says the newest version is incompatible so I found version 11.0.1.153 on iapktop. Downloaded it to pc and transferred it via usb to tablet. It asks if I want to install and appears to be installing for about 20 seconds and then orange triangle with exclamation point and "Application not installed". Watcanadoo?

I have tried to just plug in a usb cord in the back like I do for my psp but every time I go into an app for watching movies it wont show my phone. I can seem to watch youtube videos just fine but trying to go to other sites that have flash or streaming videos, it just doesn't play at all. Also some sites with flash will only show up with a green arrow in the area where there's supposed to be a video. I have downloaded Adobe flash and Flash AIR. Have tried multiple browsers with all having the same problems. I am also having this problem on my Viewsonic G-Tablet.

There's some buttons that will flip between pages that are open, but I can't seem to figure out how to save bookmarks with it. Is there a text file or instructions on how to use this program?

I'm writing wondering why if this is a Google phone why doesn't Google and htc implement Google chrome web browser in the phone i mean come on there's opera mini browser in there. I'm not saying anything bad about opera thats other people vote on good or bad but why not have Google chrome in a Google phone?? when Apple makes a device the use what they make ( I'm a huge apple user I work for them ) notice i didn't use the word "fan"?
