Local wifi streaming. I am looking to be able to watch something stored on my pc with my N4 away from home via mobile network. I have an unthrottled data plan, so nothing is overkill.

I am curious whether the AIDL only serves for inter-process communication between several Android apps on the same device, or AIDL provides much wider functionality. Let's say I have a Java application running on some server, is it possible to remotely call methods on that server through AIDL from an Android phone?If yes, do I need some extra libraries on the server-side Java application?

Google Play store says the newest version is incompatible so I found version 11.0.1.153 on iapktop. Downloaded it to pc and transferred it via usb to tablet. It asks if I want to install and appears to be installing for about 20 seconds and then orange triangle with exclamation point and "Application not installed". Watcanadoo?

How to get videos from android to the wii (hacked of course). I have tried to just plug in a usb cord in the back like I do for my psp but every time I go into an app for watching movies it wont show my phone. I know I can just take the sd card out but its a real pain to take the back off my phone and the case I have on it too.
View 3 Replies View Relatedthe Android Browser is not streaming the video, it forces it to download it first to play it in the Android Player or some other video app I have on the phone (The Daily Motion website won't even play videos, it shut plays audio). On my old iPhone, I would touch a video and it would stream through the browser, Chrome, Dolphin, Safari, etc. But with Android, it always wants me to download or try to play through an app which doesn't work or it just doesn't work. I have tried, Dolphin, Boat, Chrome, Opera, Baidu... none of them just play the video with problems. I didn't have this issue with iPhone, and it's kinda upsetting that I have such powerful hardware (Galaxy Note 3) and stuff just doesn't work like it should.I thought it was just my phone, but i tried it on my friend's HTC One and got the same results, so it must be an Android issue.

I click a video from say, 9news.com. The video plays in landscape mode with the PLAY button and slider for video time progress.
BUT, when the play button and slider disappears, so does the video. There is sound, but no video.

I can seem to watch youtube videos just fine but trying to go to other sites that have flash or streaming videos, it just doesn't play at all. Also some sites with flash will only show up with a green arrow in the area where there's supposed to be a video. I have downloaded Adobe flash and Flash AIR. Have tried multiple browsers with all having the same problems. I am also having this problem on my Viewsonic G-Tablet.

Using MX Player. It worked best. All you have to do is have the username and password put in together into the URL after http, but before the URL of the video file. So lets say the directory is protected by the username FrancisFord and the password is Copola and the URL is URL...., you would enter this address when streaming from a URL:
URL.....Remember to remove the www from the URL and that the username comes first then the password seperated by a colon, followed by the @ symbol. URL....
So, I have video's uploaded to my personal site. I password protected the directory with .htaccess. The permissions of the videos are set to 777. If I surf to the directory of the video through the browser on my Galaxy S II, it asks for a username and password and then displays the files that are there. When I click on a file, it tells me that I cant play the video and thats with any video player I use. If I try to play the video in my browser itself by putting it into something like JW player, it also doesn't work. The only time it works is when I unprotect the directory. Then it streams it fine.
I am using A Samsung Galaxy SII (s2) or Epic 4G touch from Sprint. I have Cyanogen Mod 10, beta 2 with Jelly Bean on it. I use the built in browser and also Chrome. The video players I have tried using to no avail are:

Stock Android Video player.

I have a few movies saved onto my media card but I was wondering if there is an app that would allow me to login to my home server (through ftp or something) and let me browse my vids and stream them through. In the file manager I tried and it sais that streaming wasnt available and proceeded to download the file. It would play once it was fully transfered. Any avi streamers out there?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a research project we need to capture video on the HTC magic and transmit this video over a network to other devices, both HTC magic's and desktop pc's (which have their own implementations of the codecs).For the transmission over the network we are using some of our own native libraries, which have all compiled fine and work. These libraries work via the RTP (Real time transfer) protocol. This poses a significant problem because RTP expects detailed information about the contents of each packet (exact timestamp, sampling rate, which part of which frame is in each packet etc.) So we tried the method described at http://www.mattakis.com /blog/kisg/20090708/broadcasting-video-with-an This appears the only way to get the MediaRecorder to send it's data to our native application. So we run a server-socket on the native side, send MediaRecorder output to a FileDescriptor of a javasocket. The native side does receive data. 2 problems however :
1. Like said in the blogpost : header information etc. is not filled in, so if we write the data to file from the native-side, it's not playable.
2. The socket we write to is TCP, so a stream implementation. So there is no clear way to know where each frame begins and ends (because the data comes in continuously). And that's the main problem : we can't package the data in good RTP packets for transmission! Nor can we get good information about the timing etc. So we looked into OpenCore a little bit, hoping to be able to do it through JNI-interfaces ourselves (or maybe even directly with the native implementations from our native code). This has proven a daunting task, because so little documentation can be found on these things. So the question is : Is it possible to get the encoded video (and audio) data with clear frame-separation and good timing-information for RTP transmission? (It is not an option to use anything but RTP, as the research is partly about RTP possibilities)

I tried for video streaming in sdk 1.5. The video format .mp4.But it gives error like "This video is not valid for streaming to this video". But in http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-1.5-highlights.html .mp4 is supported for streaming.

I watch it on my phone in my car at the lake during my lunch break. I know that probably sounds sad, but it is AWESOME. I'm a manager in the dang corporate world, and I forget that I am at work by the time I'm done with a movie and come on back to the office. It's my dirty little secret. I read that only pictures and videos that were shot with the camera stream though the HDMI cable. If that is the case, what is the point? I keep all that stuff on a hard drive anyway. So my question: can I hook up an HDMI cable and stream Jetflicks to my TV? The Jetflicks movies play on the native Internet browser. So I guess a more accurate question would be: Does the native internet browser display on the TV through the HDMI cable? If so, is there audio?
