I recently bought an Asus MeMoPad Smart 10. I want to know if it's safe to leave it charging overnight? Because it says not to leave it charging after 100 too much, but I dont really listen to manuals.

Does charging phone overnight do any damage? Presumably when the phone is fully charged it does not continue to cook the battery?

Sorry for the lenght but I thought I'd cover all bases.Anyway here's what happens when I charge my phone overnight. Let's say my battery is at 80%:
1. Turn off Wifi
2. All tasks killed except for Alarm Clock. Sometimes I run the Music Player but it doesn't make a difference with the battery drain issue whether I use it or not.
3. Background data is not enabled
4. The "Stay Awake" (Screen will never sleep while charging) option in the "Applications" menu is NOT CHECKED
5. Auto-brightness is not selected, and brightness is set at the lowest level.
6. Data Roaming (connect to data services when roaming) is not selected
7. Bluetooth not on
8. Charge the phone - I see the animated lightning bolt icon
9. Press the "sleep" button for the screen, or, allow it to naturally go dark after 30s
Curious anyone's thoughts on letting a battery completely drain, before charging VS pluggin it in every night, whether its low or not? Does it develop a "memory", and thereby cut the usable charge down?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to work out if it is possible to view 1 movie simultaneously on 2 seperate tablets. I am trying to set them up as in-car entertainment for my kids (3 and 1.5). They are too young to keep heaphones on so i was hoping to be able to somehow sync a movie on both tablets to keep the audio in time. I have heard of the Seagate Wi-fi HDD but am not sure if that can play the movie in sync on 2 devices.
Also it would have to be without a wi-fi unless i used the seagate drive.
Why do some apps fail when sideloading them onto some lower end tablets? I back them up from my phone using astro and try to install it on a viewsonic G-tablet or a Nextbook tablet and the installation fails. They're perfectly good backups. How come it's not supported?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using multiple android devices, all of them under one phone number (only one plan that includes five separate sim cards). All of the services are available under any individual device, BUT! Text messages (SMS) ONLY arrive at the devices that holds the "primary" or "master" sim card.
What I'd like to have, is the ability to somehow send any arriving messages from the primary device via something (email? im?) that doesn't require them to be in close vicinity (so no wlan/bluetooth). So that it wouldn't matter which device I hold, I'd always receive any incoming text messages and they would be available on all devices. Best would be, if also SENT messages would sync between devices.
Also of note is that the sync should be (almost) instantaneous (as fast as can be achieved via push-gmail or instant messaging). So no scheduled syncs or anything that requires an interval.
Each one of the devices are capable of sending/receiving sms on their own, so no technical barriers exist on that front.
By syncing, I mean that the messages would be available at each device's own "messaging system", NOT just backed up in email or something. (so SMS2Mail of backupsms -style apps are out of the question.)
The devices are running Android 2.2, 2.3, 3.1 and come next year, android 4.0.
I'm going to use:

* Samsung Galaxy Tab

* Samsung Galaxy Gio
* Motorola Defy
I've looked into TotalSMS Control, DeskSMS, Phone Control and various other apps, but they all lack some part of what I need. (DeskSMS looked the most promising, but apparently doesn't work on Honeycomb, at least market doesn't show DeskSMS for my Tab 8.9).

Screen problem is gone when Bmorn is flashed with Eken ICS firmware, but there are other things that doesn't work with Eken.
Is there any way to get two IMG files (from Bmorn and Eken), and somehow get only display drivers from Eken and repack it to Bmorn?
I'm on a medical school, and we have a lot of documentation to work with which is digital form, so I thought if I could edit those documents on my Android tablet. BUT, there is a little problem. Those aren't just ordinary Office documents, but they have integrated many charts in which we add text; checkboxes and dedicated fields for text input. But I don't know, if any application from Google Play supports those features in the document, or would it just ignore/not recognize, or even scramble the layout of the document? The running through every application on the Play would be a too big pain in the..n.
Is there any application that would preserve the original layout of the document and allow editing those fields without any issues?
I've tried lot of methods until I heard of this not-known-for-many app which finally unlocked my chinese tablet.

View 49 Replies View RelatedThis has happened about 2-3 times now since the phone was released.The phone is fully charged before I go to bed and in the morning it's dead since the phone turned off by itself.Also it might explain why during the day, even without use for 2-3 hours it drains for no reason down to ~25%?So weird, anyone else have this problem? With a new sim card i have 3G, take it home and put it on wifi overnight, and the next day i cannot get 3G. have done reboot, soft reset, master reset, toggle flight mode off/on. The only thing that gets 3G back is another sim card. I have gone through 2 phones and 4 sim cards with this. Samsung support is scratching their heads, any ideas from the android community?

The most concerning thing is that it seems to be running down quicker overnight, while I�m asleep and the phone is idle with the screen locked. When I went to sleep last night it was showing at about 50%. However it woke me up at 5am this morning telling me to connect the charger � the second time this has happened in 3 days. I already have wireless, bluetooth and 3G switched off (I only switch these on when I want to use them), background data switched off and the screen brightness set at low. When I checked the applications that were running this morning, there was nothing that shouldn't have been there. Anyone got any idea what could be causing the battery to run down so quickly overnight when the phones not being used?

View 21 Replies View RelatedMy phone will get notification rather quickly but when i put the phone down to go to bed and when i wake up there will be no emails no fb notifications but when i start to touch it again i get all the notifications from the time i went to bed till i woke up. is there a setting somewhere that makes the phone go into hyper idle or something? maybe coz they phone is stationary for so long? id gate to think i was at work and had my phone on my desk i wouldn't get any messages all day unless im touching my phone.

The Samsung Tab 2 7" has the same resolution as the Samsung Tab 3 7" but the latter has some extra pixels available since it doesn't have a menu bar at the bottom.
How should one design the layout for these tablets?
