Bought two tablets for Christmas for the kids, and I would like to have both exactly the same. Don't want them fighting over who has which apps or tablet. The tablets are both the same, so no hardware issues.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have purchased 3 Samsung Galaxy Nexus devices for my family, and one for myself. I wanted to setup all our devices for them and pre-install essential apps for them, and lay it out in a way which makes each device identical so that my family (which is new to Android) can all get the same easy experience from their devices, rather than everyone getting a different LG/Samsung/HTC device and having to deal with differences in skins every time someone phones me with a question about their device.
Here is what I have done:
1. Unlocked bootloader, root, installed CM10.1.2 + gapps onto my own personal device. Clean install, wiped everything.
2. Setup android with a temporary Gmail account, installed about 20 apps, setup the homescreen, changed a few settings for simplicity, change wallpapers, etc.
3. Once I was satisfied, I removed the google account, rebooted to recovery (CWM 6.0.3.2) and made a Nandroid backup which was later copied to my home server.
4. Unlocked Bootloader, rooted and installed CM10.1.2 + gapps on all the other devices, booted the device then transferred the Nandroid backup from my home server to each of these other three devices. Restore the backup, reboot, all seems fine so I setup new individual google accounts, and away I went. Everything works fine, at least so it seems.
Now the issue is that I'm having came a day or two after I got everything setup on each device. At the moment I'm having serious issues with the Google Play Store and Push Notifications. Almost all devices intermittently have issues with this. The play store issue I'm getting is [RPC:S-5:AEC-0], and prevents me from downloading or updating apps. Push notifications is not working either. For example, Google hangouts notifications don't notify me of messages on devices intermittently unless I manually check the app. Same goes with facebook and snapchat notifications. Very annoying. Tried all sorts of fixes such as removing the Google account, rebooting and adding it again, but no luck.
I changed the Android ID on each device hoping that would work, but still no luck.
Edit: Tried making a titanium backup of one device and moved it to a rooted Galaxy S2 running CM10.1 nightlies, and no such issue. Also, updated one nexus device to the latest nightly, still no fix.
What types of the changes i have to do if i m going to make app for android tablets from existing app of android mob??

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to work out if it is possible to view 1 movie simultaneously on 2 seperate tablets. I am trying to set them up as in-car entertainment for my kids (3 and 1.5). They are too young to keep heaphones on so i was hoping to be able to somehow sync a movie on both tablets to keep the audio in time. I have heard of the Seagate Wi-fi HDD but am not sure if that can play the movie in sync on 2 devices.
Also it would have to be without a wi-fi unless i used the seagate drive.
Why do some apps fail when sideloading them onto some lower end tablets? I back them up from my phone using astro and try to install it on a viewsonic G-tablet or a Nextbook tablet and the installation fails. They're perfectly good backups. How come it's not supported?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using multiple android devices, all of them under one phone number (only one plan that includes five separate sim cards). All of the services are available under any individual device, BUT! Text messages (SMS) ONLY arrive at the devices that holds the "primary" or "master" sim card.
What I'd like to have, is the ability to somehow send any arriving messages from the primary device via something (email? im?) that doesn't require them to be in close vicinity (so no wlan/bluetooth). So that it wouldn't matter which device I hold, I'd always receive any incoming text messages and they would be available on all devices. Best would be, if also SENT messages would sync between devices.
Also of note is that the sync should be (almost) instantaneous (as fast as can be achieved via push-gmail or instant messaging). So no scheduled syncs or anything that requires an interval.
Each one of the devices are capable of sending/receiving sms on their own, so no technical barriers exist on that front.
By syncing, I mean that the messages would be available at each device's own "messaging system", NOT just backed up in email or something. (so SMS2Mail of backupsms -style apps are out of the question.)
The devices are running Android 2.2, 2.3, 3.1 and come next year, android 4.0.

Screen problem is gone when Bmorn is flashed with Eken ICS firmware, but there are other things that doesn't work with Eken.
Is there any way to get two IMG files (from Bmorn and Eken), and somehow get only display drivers from Eken and repack it to Bmorn?
I'm on a medical school, and we have a lot of documentation to work with which is digital form, so I thought if I could edit those documents on my Android tablet. BUT, there is a little problem. Those aren't just ordinary Office documents, but they have integrated many charts in which we add text; checkboxes and dedicated fields for text input. But I don't know, if any application from Google Play supports those features in the document, or would it just ignore/not recognize, or even scramble the layout of the document? The running through every application on the Play would be a too big pain in the..n.
Is there any application that would preserve the original layout of the document and allow editing those fields without any issues?
I've tried lot of methods until I heard of this not-known-for-many app which finally unlocked my chinese tablet.

I had trouble with the free version but I "bought" *cough* the pro version(3.3.6) and it rooted my device on less than 2 minutes.
I have used both ROMS and they appear to be almost identical. am i missing something. The shadow settings and C6 settings and menu look exactly the same.

My problem is when I make a drawelements call per cube I take a hit on the frame rate. Is there a way I can make a single draw call to opengl es to draw them? View 4 Replies View RelatedI just spent half an hour going through each file in the OTA upgrade ZIP and comparing its CRC (checksum) to the same exact file in the "leak v3" PB00IMG.ZIP, including all of the files inside system.img. Process: First off, just by opening the two ZIP files with 7-Zip I can see that the boot.img, radio.img, and recovery.img are identical. In both ZIPs, their CRCs are EA7388FA, 54C41EEC, and 3F0153F1 respectively.
Since the OTA breaks down system.img into just the files that need updating (for the purpose of keeping the file size as low as possible), the only way to compare the files with system.img in "leak v3" was to use the root ROM created from "leak v3". (Thank goodness there's an unadulterated ROM of it, so the original CRCs are intact!) One by one, I compared the CRCs of the files in the OTA's system folder with the same files in the "leak v3" system folder. Findings: The files that are in the OTA are completely identical to the ones in the leak v3 system.img, with only one exception: The OTA contains an additional app called UpgradeSetup.apk. Obviously, it's only necessary for executing the upgrade..............
After the upgrade (all went well), when I select a contactI have the same number several times on the screen.
If I choose edit, in the edit menu are same numbers gor google, sony sync and phone contacts. Even if I try to filter them, they are there.
How do I create non-mutually exclusive apks for identical apps that differ only in content? I have an app that plays an mp3 file embedded as a raw resource. I would like to be able to create multiple apps with this (same logic but different songs) and possibly install more than one song on a device. But now when I try to install a second version it says that the app is already installed, even if I refactor and change the name of the app. What is the proper way to do this?

The Samsung Tab 2 7" has the same resolution as the Samsung Tab 3 7" but the latter has some extra pixels available since it doesn't have a menu bar at the bottom.
How should one design the layout for these tablets?
