May 24, 2010I am new to android, but I am really excited about this phone. It's not really a deal breaker for me, I just see that the HTC Legend does have 16m colors, and it looks very crisp, it also runs the same version of android apparently as the EVO. I just want to know if this can be possibly done, I know that the EVO has a bigger screen and this might be the reason why it's only 65k, but I want a 16m color display for my EVO!

Apr 11, 2010Got my Desire this week as a free upgrade from Orange, really impressed with it and glad i resisted from getting the iPhone. Anyway a question if anyone can answer, why doesn't the weather animation constantly play/scroll, it only does it once when you turn on, up to now(this week) its been sunny/cloudy so only seen the clouds scroll across the screen once but you don't see them again. My brother has an HTC but i don't know which one apart from its a Windows OS not android and his constantly scrolls. Is the android OS different than the Windows or do i need to activate something in the menus?

General :: Change Boot Animation
Jan 16, 2014i just got a new phone (my first android), ive been trying to change my boot animation and cant seem to get it to work,i replaced the file which was named bootanimation_virigin.zip (also didnt think of renaming the original, so the original is gone), i even replaced the stock one which was named bootanimation.zip (also didnt rename it or back it up... -__-;; ) i made sure the files are correct and match up with the desc.txt file. i copied the original boot animation zip to my computer and just replaced everything, same number of files, about the same file size, same file type, same size and just put the folders "part0", "part1" and the desc.txt files back on my sd card and moved it to system/media/bootanimation_virigin, i compressed the files into a zip using root browser from the rom toolbox, i made sure that the compression was set to none, and then moved the zip file to system/media, i set the permisions to rw-r--r-- which is the exact same as the other boot animations. nothing shows up anymore till the phone is done booting but ill admit that it is definitely better than the stock virgin mobile animation...
here is everything i have for this boot animation (including: original virgin mobile boot animation, a video of the boot animation, all the pictures, and a folder titled "bootanimation_virign" which is the folder i moved into system/media)

i thought it was something on my phone but it was the way after effects renders jpeg sequences, i think it has something to do with the attributes of the jpeg file but anyways i just used a program called boot animation creator and it worked perfectly

Sep 23, 2010I have defined a custom theme, where I am drawing a dark gradient on my window background. My ListView background is set to be transparent, however whenever I scroll, the background color turns black, and then after scrolling has stopped, goes back to the gradient color. Why is this?

Yes, I could change the picture, but I'd rather find a way to make the icons black or to make the status bar black with white icons. When I have an app open, the status bar is black with white icons. Why can't I get that on the home page? My phone is not rooted and I don't plan to do that.
