View 2 RepliesWhats the scoop behind which one is really better? The stock messaging app or aftermarket apps (handcent and chomp). I use Handcent, and lately I have been finding it to be quite laggy and slow, even with cache cleared and all threads deleted. Is the only difference between stock and aftermarket, the fact that you can customize? I would much rather have a plain looking stock app that performs well, then a customizable aftermarket app that is slow. I am just looking for some opinions.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAny app that combines messages coming from multiple apps such as messages, gtalk, voice..etc? Why the hell it hasn't been implemented yet as part of the phone? I am really tired of having to switch between every app during a particularly busy message binge.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a messaging app that can integrate sms, whatsapp and maybe even facebook chat into a thread style similar to WP7.
Is it possible to use these 3 services in one messaging app?
I can't find my contacts while doing Text Messaging. When I start new message and in the box that says "Enter recipient" I use to be able to type their contact name and it would show up. I have to start typing their phone number or click the Contact Book Image on the right and search for it that way. I'm on a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 4.3, Kernel version 3.4.0.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have galaxy ace duos and accidentally deleted stock messaging app, used for a while handcent sms and go sms pro, but for ten days I can't send a single message with this two applications. I can receive sms though.
bring back stock message app because that one always worked smoothly.. Gingerbread 2.3.6 is the version off course.
I'm looking for a replacement with stock messaging. However I can't seem to find a decent one with dual sim support.

miui is being open sourced so can sombody port the messaging app to ICS?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone (Xperia Play) came with pure Vanilla Gingerbread,. I've used SO many messaging apps like GO, Chomp, Handcent, Pansi, etc. and I just decide to go back to the stock app every time I switch apps after a day or two. The reason why I switch is because of one thing, the threads take too long to load on the stock app. I want to start texting. I have to wait literally 10 seconds just to open up a 1000 count thread. I don't like to delete my messages.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to import my messages from IOS to Android 4.2 using isms2droid and SMS Backup & Restore. Now, I can see all the people that I sent a message to, but as soon as I try to go into the conversation, Messaging crashes and all the conversations are gone, I can still use the phone just not Messaging. However, restarting the phone allows me to see the names again, but again as soon as I enter a conversation they disappear. I tried to delete all the messages using SMS Backup & Restore but it just stalls on the "deleting messages" box. Now I can't delete any messages nor send any new ones.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been running 4.2 on my Galaxy Nexus since the day it became available. With the new group messaging feature that was included I noticed that when conversating with friends who have HTC phones (Rezound and more recently DNA) their messages would come over separate. But iPhones, samgung, etc... would work just fine.
I thought maybe it was just a small bug with the phone but after flashing CM10.1 on my Note 2 I have the exact same problem.
I've been using BrowserTexting, paid for the premium and it's been awesome. While my phone is charging somewhere in my room, I can use my laptop to reply back to whatever text I receive.
Thing is, I'm using Viber to text friends overseas. I was wondering if there are any apps or any way to integrate all text messaging to the default android SMS messenger so I can use BrowserTexting? I know Viber text messages use the data plan, but it would be awesome if I could also use BrowserTexting to text through my Viber app. Or at least is there a way for me to also use my PC to text through Viber?
Is Messaging and Phonebook in ICS can be ported to GB as well? Or is there any port made from our dear members?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S II X (Telus version in Canada) running their stock firmware, based on Android 2.3.5.
I've set it up to not sync my contacts with Gmail, and my contacts lists displays only the people I've added. However, if I create a text message and add recipients, it lists all my contacts in addition to every single person to whom I've ever sent an email from my Gmail account, and it's bloody annoying. I've been through the phone settings and can't find any way to disable this..? If this is a "feature" of the firmware, would I be better off rooting it and installing a different ROM?
Ever since the upgrade to Jellybean 4.3 (I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3), my messaging app doesn't auto-open to the last sender when I swipe it from the lock screen. Instead, it goes to the previous sender, which can be annoying if you're not paying attention and you reply to that sender instead of the one with the new message.
How do I change that back to the way it was?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSecond, is it possible to ad 'GROUP CHAT' in the stock messaging app? Go SMS allows this currently but it's a very slow app. Stock messaging app works great, so it would be great if it could become a possibility.
FYI: My current phone is Evo LTE.
I was wanting to look at the default sms app to see how it works and possibly look into modifying parts. I've googled high and low and still havent found the source / how I would get it just for the sms app?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem and my searches for solutions have come up blank. I have a Nexus 4 running 4.2 on NET10. I receive automated text messages from an email address, but the number it comes from changes every message. Can i get these to all link together under one contact? the numbers are 1410000xxx where xxx are steadily increasing numbers(1410000001, 1410000002,1410000003).
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to increase (or disable it!!!!) Message Text Limit more than 1000 messages per thread/conversation??
In Froyo 2.2.1 there were an option called "Delete old messages", but in Gingerbread this options is not present and I just can set numbers from 10 to 1000 of messages per thread/conversation.
I need to remove this limit without installing a CustomROM (currently I've the stock one), is it possibile?
