Wondering if there is an app that manages charge points, stopping a battery from charging at 50% even while plugged in. Lifespan more than doubles if device battery is kept at 40%. I have a xoom FE.
Also, is it just me, or is the search feature not working? Trying it and it alternates between simply closing as soon as I touch the keyboard, and/or kicking the cursor up to the Google bar.

I was wondering what your guys battery status was. Mine is at 30% left. Unplugged 5 Hours. 42% display total time 1:56 min. 39% browser 1:22 min. I was wondering if someone get similar figures.
View 12 Replies View RelatedFound a good way to save on battery life. Use airplane mode app to switch off all communications on your Wildfire at night. I had to download an app called StudioKUMA Airplane Scheduler. I have set mine to 11:00pm off and back on at 06:00am so should save a load on battery power.

I've been messing with setcpu and trying out some underclocking profiles. Underclocking while the screen is off as well as reducing the CPU power has gotten me 75% battery left after 8 hours. This is with constant emails but no wireless, bluetooth, or gps. This is better than I was getting under windows mobile.
With average use (and auto-brightness on), has anyone heard an estimate as to how long these screens last before we get fade, color degradation, screen burn in, or even complete failure?

I have rooted my device about a month ago and downloaded Avast + installed Avast AntiTheft, only that when the installation finished I didn't said it was installed so idk what happened there.
1) How can I be sure if the AntiTheft is installed or not?
2) When installing root apps and regular apps, how can you notice? I mean, can I install a root app and not be aware of it?
3) If i do a Hard reset the root apps stay on the phone? In that case which "Root uninstaller" would you recommend ?
4) Doing hard reset is bad for the device?
5) I rooted my phone with SuperSU by ChainFire, to start my mobile from 0 I have to go to the SuperSU app tap "unroot" and then do the hard reset?
All in all what I want to do is to have my device as new. Without any trace of all this time I've been using it.

Got phone 90 days ago. Everything wonderful. 5 days ago, total loss of WiFi functionality. Turning WiFi "off" and "on" does nothing. No WiFi "icon" appears. No WiFi networks (even ones I've used successfully before) can be "seen".

View 8 Replies View RelatedEvening folks i downloaded an app for my Xperia X10 which was Total Recall which allows me to record telephone conversations both incoming and outgoing automatically, now i downloaded the free app but never used it as my phone developed issues i was told by my network provider to do a master reset and to reinstall any Apps i had on phone as they would also be deleted. I have sibnce managed tovreinstrall all the other apps but Total Recall will not reinstall it keeps coming up with " YOU CAN'T INSTALL A TRIAL COPY ON THIS DEVICE MORE THAN ONCE" I could understand it if i had used it but i am not willing to buy it to realise it's not all made out to be. In my android app, is there any way to get the total amount of memory my application is taking up, in the code. I'm using lots of large bitmaps, so it must include external allocations as well. I must, however, be able to get the number in the code, so that I can dynamically adjust to fit the budget I have.
I also need a way to get the total amount I have available (16Mb or 24Mb) as well.
I purchased a DX today an noticed that there were numbers on in the address book that I didn't put there. I plan on taking it to another store to get a new phone. I am using the android.net.conn.CONNECTIVITY_CHANGE broadcast event along with ConnectivityManager to react to the changes in state to achieve this, but I'm having problems testing my set up in the emulator.I have tried both flight mode and pressing F8 to disable the "Cellular Network" but even with both of these engaged the application still "sees" the underlying network.Has anybody managed to find a way to simulate a total lack of network access?

1) decide which notifications I get...for example I don't need my phone to let me know I have FB messages or updates or emails...I'll check that on my own, but VM and missed calls I'd like to get a notification(tone and flash deal)
2) How do I shut off the vibrations when I'm touching the phone in any way? I don't really need it to vibrate at all...never been a fan of that
I plan on letting the battery drain down all the way before fully charging it back up, and my husband and I are getting the nifty better batteries too.I just want to remove any unnecessary(totally spelled wrong) things...And I did install an app killer.what is the concencus on this? Should I just uninstall it? I don't use a lot of these things so I thought it would be good to kill some apps unless I need them on demand.
I released an app a few days ago and saw the total & active install count start moving pretty much immediately. However, over the last day or so it seems to have stalled. Judging from the ad metrics from AdMob over the same period though I'm pretty sure it's getting more downloads. Does anyone have any insight on how frequently Google updates these counters on the Developer Console?

The included Chronometer widget doesn't quite have the functionality I wanted, so I copied its code into my own package. However, when I try to build it, I get the following error:

If I remove the RemotableViewMethod annotation, the code compiles, but crashes with an IllegalStateException as soon as I call a method on the widget, as seen in this stacktrace: http://www.pastebin.org/50243 .
Looking through the android source, you can see stock widgets using the RemotableViewMethod all over the place, but for some reason, my code can't.
So, my question is this: What can I do to enable the RemotableViewMethod annotation in my custom widgets? Is there something I should be doing differently in order to code custom widgets?
