I have a series of imageviews that I want to display, but on a button press there needs to be less or more. These imageviews are stored in a list. Is there a simple way to hide or display them?

I have recently acquired a Dell Venue 8 tablet and updated it to V 4.3 that was available from Dell. This is my first Android device so I am trying to figure things out. Right now these are two of my biggies - the command bar at the bottom seems to take screen real estate where it should be hidden when an app is running. Is there a way to do this? Also I like live widgets but could not figure out how to make them appear on the lock screen.

The path returned by getFilesDir() includes the full path, "/data/data/net.vitalrecord.android/files." This path designation does not exist on the development system but does exists when DDMS File Explorer is used.

Basically when we have a list view and a detail view - lets have a 'transition' animation between them.
For an Android application, I'm trying to use a Spinner which, when an option is selected, will hide/display relevant View objects. For my application, these objects are an EditText and an associated TextView label for the field. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the EditText to hide/display, and when I add it code to hide/display the TextView, I get a NullPointerException. I presume that since I am laying out the view objects in a RelativeLayout, by hiding one of the view objects, I am removing its relationship with other view objects, hence the NullPointer.
Can anyone figure out why this might be happening? Here's my code...

though putting the imageview holding the image in a LinearLayout scales the image to the width of the dialog, the problem is that i need to display the image in a dialog but the image is very high resolution and hence is far bigger than the width of the dialog...
I need to show the actual image with scrolling for both ways to see the whole image... But whenever i try putting the imageView in a scrollview the top of my imageview is blank... and again though image scrolls downwards the width is scaled to the width of the dialog...

I am passing the Acitivity from my MainActivity to this class as a parameter in function.
But I am *unable to call* the onCreateDialog method that I have *defined in the simple java class.
However, If I define the *onCreateDialog method in MainActivity, I am able to display it successfully.
What Should I pass as Parameter to the non Activity class from MainActivity class so that I am able to display the dialog as defined by showdialog method in JAVA class ???*

I have a rooted samsung captivate with sideloading enabled. After experimenting with different wifi tethering apps from the unofficial market, I began experiencing difficulties with my wifi connection. Even after uninstalling every app that I thought was changing the wifi state, the problem still persists. I can turn on the wifi and it will act normally for about 30 seconds before turning off without user intervention. In dmesg, the error is as follows: 'mmc1: Got command interrupt 0x00060001 even though no command operation was in progress.' Is this caused by an app or is this a more complicated problem?

I have an issue with displaying videos on android devices.When any video is displayed it does not take the entire screen size of device even though i have given android:layout_width="fill_parent".There will being some blank space on either sides.for eg.if i have a video of 480 by 320 it will work on 480 by 320 device fine but on a device like say Nexus one it wont take the entire display of device ,there will be some blanl spaces on two sides. Is this a default feature of android devices or is there a solution to resolve this ?Why does not the "fill_parent" attribute work?
