View 4 RepliesIm trying to figure out how to or if its possible to save audio received from a text and then use it as a ringtone. All I can do with it so far is just play it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my phone up in the settings for both email and for text messages to give me a vibrate alert on any text or emails. All I get is the audible ring and no vibration. It is the same on incoming calls. The vibrate works if I turn the ringer off and go to vibrate mode, but it won't work with the ringer.

View 14 Replies View RelatedIt seems I cannot receive texts today.I rarely use this feature but was informed by a friend that he had texted me and wondered why I did not respond. The last time I used this feature was about a month ago.Logging into my Sprint account, it appears Sprint has updated their website to include something called ZipText. This is new to me but may not actually be new. It appears to be set up to forward any texts it receives by default and the messages I expected to see did not appear there. In fact no texts appeared there. So is anyone experiencing problems receiving texts? I have tried powering down and up my phone.I have successfully sent 2 texts to different people but I do not receive their replies or new messages.I cannot see a setting that would cause this.I have gone into the "Messaging" application to send texts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night my phone suddenly stopped picking up some of my text messages. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and I have never had this problem before - I've had the phone for about 6 months now. It comes up with a notification that I have a message, and as normal when I drag down the notification bar it will let me preview the first line of the text. However when I go to my inbox it isn't there; likewise my sent messages haven't saved in the conversation.
The thing is, this is only an issue with two of my contacts; I have been sending and receiving texts from other people it's just these two and they both have i phones - could this be something to do with it?
I am not using any 3rd party messaging apps either like handcent. I just use the messaging service that the phone came with.
I said I've never had this issue before and out of the blue it's not showing my texts! It's driving me nuts.
I have had the same mobile number for about 10 years and only ever had one problem with spam text messages, that was 7 years ago. However, since moving onto Android I have received a message every few weeks. Usually they are about wiping debts or accident law suits and come from standard mobile numbers, not premium ones. Is this just a coincidence or have I been lax in some form of personal security with apps or 3G Internet?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to receive a signal more than once when I receive a text message. Is there any way I can do that. I'm not someone who checks their phone many times during the day, so I really need more than once reminder that I have a message.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend is having an issue with her phone. I don't see it being an issue with mine but it might be something else. She is receiving non-alpha numeric characters in her text messages. So far shes gotten it from me and one of her other friends not knowing what to say she called it "caligraphy". Anyways, I am on Metro and her friend is on Verizon. I'd figure its a CDMA issue but she is on a Samsung Moment on Sprint which is also CDMA so idunno.
To me they send fine, but to her some of the texts she receives come in all garbled. Not sure whats going on, anyone got any ideas? Her phone is unrooted, stock, and like a week and a half ago had a factory reset done. Its 2.1 android. In this screenshot I asked her to forward me the "jibberish." She had tried to do it several times earlier but i never got the messages, this time i got it so heres a screenie for you all.
I currently have my gmail set to play a tone called "green tunnel" as its notification and my sms to play "life mushroom." Under the main settings tab, the default notification tone is "silent." For some reason when I get a text message, I'm hearing "green tunnel" and "life mushroom" at the same time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set a custom ringtone for text messages? I see in the music app to set a song as a ringtone but it doesn't let me set it as a text tone. I also made a song a ringtone but it was not available to the text app. Someone mentioned Handscent but I was hoping to use the stock app. The Droids stock app apparently does allow music for ringtones as I just confirmed from my brother in law.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been given a requirement. Say you have five contacts in your phone book. Person1, Person2, Person3, Person4, Person5. You have received messages from the contacts.. Now that, I have to sort in the following manner. Initally, i have to sort in such a way that, I display one message per contact. The subsequent messages should be shown based on the timestamps.

I was wondering if anyone knew what this was and how I can decode it?
In the last couple of months I'm been having a problem with SMS, some of the messages that my friends sent to me are not received! Although in their phone it appears "Received".. :My mobile phone is Samsung GT-S5660(galaxy gio) with stock ROM.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLately my nexus on wont receive picture and video messages. My friend has a Droid and is having the same trouble.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had this happen to them: not always, but very often, if I quickly reply to a text message, my reply jumps up a place in the thread and appears before the last message, i.e. like this:
(instead of)
Sender: Where are you?
Me: I'm at work.
(it appears as)
Me: I'm at work.
Sender: Where are you?
I've noticed it almost exclusively happens if I reply within the same minute on the clock. If I receive a text at 10:50 and reply at 10:51, it doesn't happen. But if I promptly replied while time was still 10:50 almost certainly my message will jump up the thread and not be the last.
Is it possible to select text from a received text? Such as an address to copy and paste into nav. Possible to select multiple pictures to delete/send?
View 4 Replies View RelatedPhone will not vibrate when I receive emails, SMS, or gTalk messages if I put it in Vibrate Only mode. Phone calls do vibrate. In settings for each of those apps, I have a check mark in the Vibrate box. My Vibrate mode *used* to work, but when I uninstalled Quick Profiles it seems to have killed vibrations for everything except phone calls.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone is telling me that I have low space, but according to my computer, I have well over 3GB on my SD, which leads me to believe that text messages and applications are stored in another part on the phone or on some server. Is there a way to transfer any of these to the SD card or send them to a Gmail account? I can't even read text messages that I already received because of this and I've deleted well over 100 text messages and still can't read them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm new to programming, so bear with me. After following a couple of tutorials i made an SMS application, i want to do an specific task when a specific text is received, i do this by comparing the text received to a value(code) that i already declared. The problem is that this condition never ocurrs. When I send the message it always displays the inv variable (Invalid). I tried to change the "code" variable to an integer, and then parse the string so I could compare it; in this scenario it did work, but whenever I received a string message the application crashes. I think it should be a simple thing, but since i don't fully understand java i can't figure it out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to extract text from received SMS's.
I'm not sure whether I should use content providers or the sms message is included in the intent received by broadcast receiver.
I have a broadcast receiver waiting for SMS's, and want to inspect the contents of the received message.
I have browsed through user support and user's guide on the Xperia X10, but could not find anything to guide me! Could someone please advice on how to forward either SMS or MMS messages received to other recipients?

So there is content such as "Izložba" which I need to display in a TextView as word "Izložba". How can I do this? Right now these characters are either omitted or displayed as that raw escaped value.
