when clicking on a link in an email (gmail on droid), the droid doesn't follow the full link. for example, in a facebook email, the link will only go as far as my facebook homepage, and not to the actual conversation or post that the link is for.

I usually send out group emails on my computer so I thought id set it up on my razr. I got the group set up under contacts without any flaws. I go in to send an email to the group and it had them all set up for me nice and neatly. Then it asks me for an account and gmail isnt even an option.
I really dont want to have to add my gmail account under the email accounts section then id have two email apps if you know what i mean.
Do most people use The gmail app or just the email app?
I don't get this Gmail app. It doesn't seem to sync properly with my Gmail account. First off, sometimes the main screen will show "Inbox (1)" or whatever number to indicate I have email, but there are no emails when I tap "Inbox" (but there *are* emails on the website, so they are really in my inbox). This may also be related to the label syncing options. I have them all set to "sync all" because I assume this means it will keep everything synced no matter how old it is, and if you specify a number of days, then it just syncs as far back as that many days. But this seems to cause a problem too, in that sometimes I have email on the website, but the phone isn't detecting it.
Finally, both times I've tried to send an email, it won't work. The email ends up as "sending" in the Outbox, but never gets sent. And yes there is a data connection. I see no reason why it shouldn't send immediately. I didn't expect the Gmail app, of all things, to be so problematic on an Android phone!
I add a contact on my EVO and it does not show up when I log into my gmail account online from my PC. I even logged out of my account on-line - no go. What the heck am I doing wrong?
I checked my phone and under the Sync settings the contacts and Gmail is checked.

I have installed Dolphin and like it, and I've made it my default browser, which is great. However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI get a google calendar invitation in the GMail app, but when I click on one of the yes/no/maybe links, it opens in the browser, not in my calendar app.
I immediately tried to clear defaults, but none existed on gmail, browser, chrome or calendar app. I tried disabling browser/chrome/ and bionic default calendar, and installed Google Calendar from play store....problem still happened.
(edit, of course browser/chrome didn't open when they were disabled, but I was surprised that Google Calendar also did not open). I'm rooted, but running regualar moto ics
I'm at a loss. I know a number of google updated a number of apps lately, wondering if that broke something.
In the store I was asked if I had a GMail account, I thought I did, but wasn't sure so I created a new one. Well it turns out that I DID have an existing gmail account and want to use that one (the email address is the same as my yahoo prefix and it would be an easier transition for everyone). How do I now link my Droid phone to my pre-existing gmail? Do I have to reset it to factory settings and then start fresh?

Sure I usually use the same basic email address that are about the same if not exactly the same but.. I lost my original phone never sent an email and I cant remember what it was now to put it in my new replacement phone so I can get all my contacts back. I never put in an alternate email so I cant send it that way and I tired everything I can think of. I also called verizon to see if they might have it on file and they said no. Anyway that I can get this withouth knowing the username, having a 2nd email, trying password retrieve and putting in all my usual emails?

Initially this worked fine, but after a few weeks I can no longer sync my calndar - I've tried everything and I"m done. It seems using my google account is easier. So, having said that, since I deleted the gmail calendar, I went into "manage apps" and cleared everything associated with gmail, including my calendar. I then asked me to set up gmail again, and I did. I hoped this would bring the calndar back, but it didn't. So now I'm left without a gmail calendar to sync with.

I've sent e-mails to google and everything and I have yet to get anywhere. I'm extremely furious because my GMail account contains everything. There is no number to reach google at Tech Support or anything like that.
You would think that a company like Google would stand behind their products 110% and would have a tech support center to get issues resolved immediately. Nope, they don't. I really need to set a different account as the 'primary', but the only option for doing this seems to be another factory reset which will be a real PITA since I just got everything reloaded and the phone is running pretty well. I saw some instructions on another part of this forum which said that you could delete the data from Google Apps, but that is not an option and the other options (e.g., clear cache) are dimmed.

I noticed that the only way to view my school gmail account was through the gmail app, however I can view my personal gmail account with the mail app on my home screen. View 26 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to add a 2nd gmail account through the gmail app. it goes through the entire process, goes to the sync page and allows me to select what i wish to sync up then gives me a confirmation that the account has been added but when i go to the gmail app and check accounts it still only lists the 1 original account. i've tried powering the phone off and restarting - also added the account via HTC email app and deleted the 2nd account via HTC email app just in case it was conflicting there

None of those suggestions made a difference.So to test I sent myself an email and had the GMAIL app open on the ERIS.It sometimes give me a conversation notice but does not actually download the email to the app for a long time. And then only if I force a refresh.I have full 3G where I am so that can't be it. Also, I do no have a task killer and I keep mobile on all the time.The ERIS doeseverything else very well with the exception of e-mail.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've started using 2.2, and it's going great, but I've noticed that when I read and archive an email on my phone, it's not reflecting it on the computer.Previously whenever I'd run into issues like this I'd clear the cache on the Gmail Storage in the Manage Applications menu, and it'd resync, but in 2.2 there's only the Gmail app, and the Clear Cache button is grayed out.
