General :: Android Phone That Will Auto Power On If Connect To Charger?
Feb 1, 2013Im looking for a Android powered GSM phone that will automatically turn itself back on if the battery is dead and power is reconnected.
I want to stash this in my vintage automobile and use tracking software to locate the vehicle in the unfortunate event its stolen. The only issue I need to solve is if the battery dies and the phone turns off how to turn it back on automatically. I plan to put the device in the door panels so access will be difficult.

May 31, 2014I have made an Android based arcade machine that I want to sell to operators. They are accustomed to having an arcade machine boot up from one switch, and they also like to be able to leave that switch on so they can just turn on and off all machines with a surge protector switch or light switch. It doesn't seem possible to just have a simple binary ON/OFF switch for the K-R42, so I have to do it by having everything hooked up to a surge protector. Problem is that if I turn off the Android box by turning off the surge protector, I can't turn it back on that way. I'd like to find a way to have the Android device power on automatically from the off state when electricity is restored (sort of like the turn on after power failure option in Windows BIOS). I had read that this may be doable in the BOOTLOADER, is that true?

Dec 7, 2009The flash on the camera. i know its a net smart phone but ffs why have 5 mpg without even a led flash the alarm function? maybe im missing something cos i haven't seen anyone else post and correct if im wrong but it doesn't have an auto power option? i hope im wrong and just haven't seen the option to auto power. also having to get the thing unlocked to put my old sim in and transfer the numbers is pretty shitty too.

Oct 14, 2009Spent yesterday evening playing around with my new Hero...Pretty cool phone. One thing I do miss from my Blackberry is the automatic power on and off. I had it set to turn off at 11 PM and back on at 6:30 AM.
Maybe the Hero does it and I just havent figured out who to do it...Or maybe theres an app?

My asus transformer already does this, but I'm not sure if there is a hardware requirement for this or if a system file can edited to enable it. Jan 5, 2010Has anyone had any luck with aftermarket power supply's. I'd like a car/ac charger or a stand alone power pack. I usually use my DEXIM. but it does not work with the Behold 2. I've tried a car charger/battery unit by Wireless Gear that said it was compatible with all Samsung phones, it came with 5 power tips and a USB outlet that still would not work, even using the OEM USB cable. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will go with OEM Samsung if necessary, but there selection is limited.

Jul 20, 2010I'm looking for an alarm clock app with one very specific feature - allow me to set the alarm tone to automatically stop after X seconds, then start again at the next snooze interval, and play for another X seconds.
Sure it seems every alarm app out there allows me to set Snooze intervals and stuff, but with my waking up habit, I don't like to physically have to touch the phone to get it to shut up until the next snooze interval. I like to lay in bed and let the alarm go for like 3-4 snooze intervals before I finally wake up.
I've tried Alarm Clock PlusV2, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Quick Alarm. None of them seem to have this.
Android :: Task Panel Auto Kill Feature Not Auto-Killing?
Dec 7, 2009I installed it on my Droid and when I open the list and long press on an app it gives me the option to Auto-Kill. I assume this means I won't have to kill this app any longer so I select this option but I find that I keep having to kill the same apps over and over again. What's the point of Auto-Kill or what am I doing wrong? There are lots of programs (most I didn't even install) that run all the time and I'm having battery issues so I don't have battery to waste on programs I'm not using and will probably never use.

I would click on Internet, Browse to a web page, and if left my phone alone for a few minutes it would go to power save mode, and I would have to unlock the screen to keep browsing on the same internet page I was on. Now when it powers down, and I go back to it, it always defaults to my home page, and I have to browse back to the page I was just one. I have been looking for a setting to undo this, as its driving me crazy, but I haven't been able to find a way to change this.

1. Scale the image so that it's just large enough to fill the the entire viewing area without any black borders, while still maintaining its aspect ratio. This might require clipping once the image is actually displayed, but that's OK (read on).
2. Then, center the image in the viewing area, both horizontally and vertically.
3. Finally, clip the image to the size of the viewing area, without any further rescaling.
I'm guessing that this kind of image processing is not automatically done via any of Android's facilities, and that I'll have to do it myself. If this is a correct assumption, could someone point me to some documentation or some examples which could explain how I can accomplish this? I'm guessing that I'll have to subclass my TextView and implement my own onDraw() method, but could someone confirm or deny that assumption?

Will one have less affect on the battery than the other? In either case I would guess the specific location manager used would have some affect power usage (existing Stack Overflow answer).

Nov 22, 2010I was halfway through the 2.1 update & it came up with an error saying that the update had failed. I now can't turn on my phone. At first I thought it might be a flat battery issue (even though my battery was at 100% before starting the update). After having the mains charger plugged in for over an hour, there was no activity on the LED. When I try to power on the phone, it vibrates but nothing.
When I plug the phone into the PC USB lead, the green light comes on for about 10 seconds, then goes off for a couple of seconds. Again, if I try to power on the phone, it vibrates but nothing else. While I have the phone plugged in via USB, the PC Companion tries to recognize the phone, it does but then says it's not connected as if it's cycling the power just long enough to connect then disconnect. I've also tried all of the above without the SIM card and SD Card in.

Jun 27, 2010Quicker way to power off my phone. I think that its slowly driving me nuts. Long press on power button ... do you want to power off... I did look at the Galaxy wiki and there was a code to put in the dialer to do this. It doesn't seem to be working with Galaxo.
