Android :: Windows 7 Start Button Changer

I didn't create the program but I did make the button. Here is the zip, extract any where but you have to keep all the files in that folder for it to work.
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
Run Windows 7 Start Button Changer v 2.0.exe as admin.
Then select "Select & Change Start Button"
Then choose the file android.bmp located in that folder.
Explorer will then restart and tada new start button.

Today I installed HTC Sync 2.0.8 on my computer (in order to communicate with my HTC Hero device), and installation did not give any errors or exceptions. The OS of the computer is Windows XP SP3.I have Windows Address Book on it (Outlook express). When I try to start the application (i.e. HTC Sync), I only get an empty warning. By empty warning a mean a little OK dialog with a warning sign but no text at all! So, the program does not start. When I press the dialog, nothing happens (the dialog just disappears). BTW, I am using Avira AntiVir (Personal). Might this be the problem?Could anyone please help me solve this mystery? Many thanks in advance and happy new year 2010!

This app has multiple activities: eg: Activity1 -> Activity2 -> Activity3. If the app is opened after the Home button is used while in Activity2, the app returns to Activity2, but the desired functionality is for the app to always start with Activity1 from the launcher. Adding a finish() to the onStop() for Activity2 does cause app to start with Activity1 following use of the Home button, but then Activity3 causes the app to revert to Activity1 when it finishes, rather than Activity2, which is also undesirable. Is there a way to force the app to always start with Activity1 following use of the Home button? code....

I'm having trouble starting a Service to update an AppWidget that I'm creating as an exercise. I'm trying to get the latitude and longitude of spoofed location data from DDMS to display in the widget. The widget uses a service to update the TextView, which may be slightly overkill, but I wanted to follow the template that seems to be common in AppWidgets that do more work (like the Forecast widget or the Wiktionary widget).
Right now, I'm not getting any error messages or strange behavior; nothing at all happens when the button is pressed. I'm a bit mystified as to what might be wrong. Could anyone out there point me in the right direction?
Additionally, if my logic for location is faulty, I'd love recommendations on that too. I've looked at several blogs, the Google examples, and the documentation, but I feel a little fuzzy on how it works.

New to android programming and I would like to create an app that runs when the power button is pressed (the phone will already be 'on' as such but the screen 'off')
So - one press of the power button to 'activate/show' the screen will make the app run (without requireing the user to unlock the screen).
Is this possible. How do I capture the 'power button press' event and then direct it to run *app xxx*.

Is there any way, with root access, to change the search button to make it bring up the camera app instead of the search app? i have never used the search feature, nor do i plan too, however i use the camera quite a bit and would like to have instant (well, close too) access to it. *just to verify, i am talking about the hardware, led backlit, search button...obviously not the onscreen search button...just wanted to be 100% clear

The problem is exactly as it sounds. I have my RSD up, it recognizes my phone, i have my SBF selected, but the start button is grayed out and I cant select it...

If I'm on the home screen of my Desire and I play the Play button on my (bundled HTC) headphones, both Music and Listen start playing. If I was already listening to music and I hit the button to pause it, the music pauses but once again Listen starts playing. Is there any way I can easily avoid this?

I have had my Droid for almost a month now and i love it,,, but there are a couple of really annoying things that it does, and i was wondering if it was just me, or if anyone else has these problems too...
I will hit the unlock button on the top and start to do my pattern, and all the sudden, it says that i lifted my finger... and takes two tries out....
I will hit the unlock button and start my pattern and the screen will shut off like there is no activity and i will have to hit the unlock button again, and start over.
Oh and how about this, tried both handcent and stock messaging app, i regularly have periods of long delay from both receiving and sending text messages, i will be sending one text and get a text sending overload message also.... then i will have periods of sending and receiving the exact same text 10-15 times in a row.... this happens all of the time and its extremely annoying....

I am very happy with my X10 Mini Pro. I am a fan of Sony Ericsson Phones for years I had a W995 IO still have it and like it very much. But people this X10 Mini Pro is a wonderful device. I had to get used too it. But now after two weeks fine tuning the phone I am very happy with it. I am still in doubt if it needs a hardware button for starting and stopping a phonecall. I wonder what other user4s think about this?

I have recenltly got a HTC (I have a HTC Magic running 2.2 on Cyanogenmod-6.0.0.DS.) and I was wondering if anybody know's of an App that will allow me to change the notifications of applications individually, with working shift work, I have bought and installed an app that allows me to do black and white lists for the calls, but I need the facility to switch the phone into silent mode for the SMS/MMS but still notify for Emails through Gmail, would be good to either have a widget to similar to just open, switch, close.I know I've got the option to go into the system app and change and Gmail and change, but then having to change back, etc. I could just run the call manager, switch profile, run the notification manager, switch profile. There are notification changers out there, but they arn't as customizable as I would like.

I'm looking for an app that let's you change the sound of different notifications. For example, I used handcent sms before, and I was able to choose between the Android system sounds and handcent sounds which could be whatever I want from my sounds and SD card. Right now, for notifications I can only choose between a small number of sounds from the Android system. Is there a single app that let's me choose different sounds?

Anyone know of a wallpaper changer for only Live Wallpapers? I know there are a bunch for "still wallpapers", but I plan on using only live ones. Is there a changer that can handle that? I don't seem to be able to find one in the normal places I seek out apps.

Andorid makers need to step up the game, as the new iPhone is very good, reading about the iPhone 4 right now (WWDC, Steve Job keynote) i was really amazed, i don't own any apple product and i don't like apple close system.but: 960x640 (326ppi) IPS Display with 800:1 contrast ratio Long battery life (7 hours talk, 6 hours 3G browsing, 10 hours WiFi browsing, 10 hours video & 40 hours music.) A4 chip (as i understand it's really the main reason of the long battery life now offered) 3 axis gyro ( i didn't see that one coming), a gyro+accelerometer+compass=six axis aware device (The wood demo is really WOW) 5MP camera (larger sensor) + 720P HD video @ 30FPS + LED flash iOS 4!For me, more resolution is always better (and since the limit of the human eye ~= 300ppi) , all mobile phone should have a minimum of 300ppi.The new Gyro is a welcome move, as i always wanted my phone to senses when i rotated flat on a table. this will not only be great from game, but imagine Google earth with six axis awareness.The A4 and the longer life was expected, but nice move Apple .The camera was screaming for an update and the HD recording is a nice touch.I still preffer FroYo to iOS4 ... but iOS4 is really amazing with loads of new features.iPhone was behind in terms of the hardware, but not any more.

I work on big company that have Exchange Mail , because the politics they close exchange to non IPhone devices. So, i can't connect to my android anymore. I read about Android Mobile ID and try to understand about somethings.
Example: On linux, when you want send fake report SO, you only need edit lbs-release, to your distribution that you want fake. On android , how can i do it, faking my android reporting is a Iphone device ??? It's possible ?? When i saw with wireshark, i think exchange request Mobile ID , and i think if this start with "android-" automatic block this device !

Something where I can set a specific folder, and it will randomly change my wallpaper to those images at set intervals?
I figure something like that would be more battery efficient then live wallpaper that constantly changes, since it might only actually do something once every 15 minutes, half hour, or hour.
It would give me something that still appeases my desire for droid x flashy goodness as well.

I'm running cm6 and the Galaxy S Theme. I would like to run my density at 160 because I really love how tiny the icons look on my screen. However, when I run the density to that setting my notification menu bar no longer stretches across the top of the screen, it appears as a small square in the left hand corner. I also have the same problem in the market place, where the grey background should stretch across behind where it says "market". My friend runs his at 160 and has no problems like this, however he is not running cm6 or the theme I am. So, while it doesn't really narrow it down any, I'm sure the problem is in one of the two, more likely the theme in my mind. Any idea's how I can fix or repair this problem?

I rooted my desire with revoked and have flashed with leedroid 2.2e but when I try to load font changer it stops and a warning comes up about write access, I assume I have s off so what is causing this problem.

Running Incredible with Froyo. I rooted using Unrevoked3, but I forgot to make the nandroid backup, I guess. the LCD Changer app has my reboot looping. After the very first HTC Incredible screen it goes totally white and I just hear the "Droid" voice(plays when the red droid eye comes up on screen normally" nothing but white and the voice just repeats after the screen flashes every minute or so. Tried applying the update.zip that was linked to on the developers blog, but no luck. Any ideas? I even tried resetting to factory defaults, formatted everything, basically. Lost a great of data, I'm afraid, but I just want my phone back.
