May 12, 2010I've been really intrigued by Swype, when I heard someone say that they could text faster than they could talk using it. So I searched the market for it and there is no Swype in the market? Where can I even get it? I tried downloading an .apk file from Google, but it said my screen resolution wasn't the right size, so they must have different versions for different phones. I also found a trial one on the forums here but it was way expired apparently.

Jun 16, 2010I downloaded the beta swype for my G1 (yes i know time for a new phone thats coming soon) and i got it to come up when im searching the internet or google but it wont type anything i tried swyping a bunch of different words and all i got was the beep saying it didnt register. will it not work on my G1? its still stock rom.

Jan 7, 2010I just got my Droid an hour ago! That means I don't really know what I'm going. I installed Astro. I downloaded the Sype Beta to my PC and unzipped the files. I copied the unzipped folder to my SD card. Astro finds the folder, but I can't figure out how to install it?!? I see the Astro options at the top, but install is not one of them. I'm sure the answer is obvious, but I'm blinded by my new toy right now.

Jun 18, 2010I downloaded a version of Swype from a website (can't remember which) that was apparently just a trial which recently ran out. It coincided with Swype sending me their beta version (I had signed up to get it on their site) so I figured I would just download that. Unfortunately, it won't install because there's already another version of Swype on my phone. I tried QuickUninstaller but not surprisingly it doesn't show up in there. Any idea how to get it off my phone so I can install the newer one?

Mar 25, 2010I have had the Swype "Trial" for a while now, but have not used it. I decided to start using it just to give it another go. (After watching that guy crush the World Record for Texting using Swype). I long pressed for input method, selected swype, and attempted to use. I got a "Your trial has ended please upgrade your version of swype." I have looked everywhere and am not able to find a different version of the one that I have. I have tried another download of it and get the same result. Is there another version of it out there that I am not seeing or am I just stuck until they reopen beta or just release the app?

Jul 26, 2010I've checked all the forums and have only found people who are reviewing, praising or comparing the Swype Keyboard. When I got my EVO I heard great things about Swype and how Sprint was making it their official keyboard. I have read that the Samsung Epic 4g will come preloaded with Swype, however, I've yet to be able to find an APK for Swype that works. I downloaded Shapewriter when it was available and now have that which I enjoy using but I plan on swapping out my phone for the White Evo (I know its the same thing but my bf prefers the black over the white) and even with Astro File Manager backup I cannot save the APK for Shapewriter. Where did everyone get Swype from? It is not in the market and the closest thing available now is SlideIT which is 5.99 Euro 7.75 US. I attempted to download the apk via torrents but ended up with a bunch of expired trial apks. Did I completely miss the time frame for this download? Does anyone know where I can get it? And what other Keyboards have you tried? I've done reviews on all of them accept Swype and Betterkeyboard. I found swiftkey to be a good qwerty in landscape with haptic feedback since theirs a lot of space between keys, and the Evos stock keyboard has the best T9 for portrait mode, and I think I like SlideIT better than Shapewriter which I hate to type on without swiping the keys. So my two questions are:
Where do I get Swype? and What is your favorite keyboard?
